TREKKING

POLES

WARNING [EN]

Trekking Poles are for hiking and trekking

use only. The strength of aluminum and

carbon fiber is compromised by dents, gouges,

scratches, fractures, and chipping which may

result in catastrophic structural failure. If the

trekking pole has suffered any impact, carefully

inspect its surface for these signs of damage.

Lightweight trekking poles are made to be

lightweight, and will not withstand excessive

forces if previously damaged or if the forces

are applied beyond structural limits. Ultralight

carbon fiber poles are more susceptible to

damage than other poles and require frequent

inspection. Failure to follow these warnings

may result in catastrophic failure of the

trekking poles, causing serious injury or death.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

FLICKLOCK®

The patented FlickLock is an external camming

mechanism which, when closed, squeezes the pole

shafts together to form a joint stronger than the tubing

itself. To open:

1. Hold the pole above the FlickLock to prevent the pole

from rotating while pushing the cam lever open with

your thumb.

2. Adjust pole to the desired length.

3. “Snap” close the lever firmly.

ADJUSTING FLICKLOCK TENSION

The FlickLock requires correct tensioning to perform

properly. If slipping of the lower section occurs then

open the lever and tighten the adjustment screw about

a quarter to a half turn or until the mechanism does not

allow the shaft to slip once the lever is closed.

If the lever becomes too difficult to snap shut, loosen

the screw a bit.

SMASHLOCK™ SYSTEM

The SmashLock mechanism secures the lower

shaft section. To stow the poles, simply open the

FlickLock on the upper shaft and slide it down into the

SmashLock, unlocking it. To extend the pole, just slide

the lower shaft out until the SmashLock locks.

WHIPPET SELF-ARREST ATTACHMENTS

• The Whippet is not an ice axe, nor is it a substitute for

one.

• Do not hold or swing Whippet like an ice axe. Always

hold on to the grip.

• Practice self-arresting so you will understand its

capabilities.

• For self-arrest, hold one hand over the Whippet’s pick,

with the shaft diagonal across the torso, one hand

holding on near the FlickLock Pro mechanism.

• Avoid self-evisceration when climbing or skiing

CHANGING TIPS

Most trekking poles come with Carbide Tech Tips

installed and optional Rubber Tech Tips are available.

To remove the Tech Tips, twist counter-clockwise and

unscrew; you may need to use pliers. To install new tips,

twist them in by hand. Once the wave-shaped bumps

make contact with the waves on the tip, they should

twist 3-4 clicks until very snug. Rubber tips should

bulge out slightly when they are completely tightened.

Note: Rubber tips should be replaced once any part of

the metal core starts to show.

Some models of trekking poles come with traditional

Flex Tips. To remove, the Flex Tip needs to be heated

(submerge in boiling water) and pulled off with pliers.

Firmly push the new Flex Tip onto the tip of the pole.

BASKETS

To at t ach a basket : Push the basket and turn

clockwise until secured against the upper stop,

spinning freely.

To remove a basket: Pull the basket and twist coun-

terclockwise.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE

Never put oil or silicone on the pole shafts—this could

cause the joints to slip during use. If difficult to open or

close FlickLock: apply a drop of oil on the lever pin and

another underneath the lever where it rotates on the

housing.

To clean cork grips:

1. Use fine, waterproof sandpaper and ordinary hand

soap.

2. Wet the grip and sand thoroughly.

3. Apply soap to the sandpaper and gently rub the grip.

4. Rinse and let dry.

NOTICE D’UTILISATION

FLICKLOCK®

Le système breveté FlickLock est un mécanisme à

came externe qui, une fois fermé, permet de maintenir

assemblés les brins du bâton pour former une jonction

d’une solidité plus grande que les brins eux-mêmes.

Pour ouvrir :

1. Tenir le bâton au-dessus du FlickLock pour empêcher

le bâton de pivoter tout en poussant le levier de came

avec votre pouce pour l’ouvrir.

2. Régler le bâton à la longueur souhaitée.

3. Refermez ensuite fermement le levier en le rabattant

d’un coup sec.

AJUSTEMENT DE LA TENSION

Pour fonctionner correctement, il est nécessaire que

le FlickLock soit suffisamment serré. Si le brin inférieur

venait à glisser, ouvrez le levier et resserrez la vis de

réglage d’environ un quart de tour à un demi-tour, ou

jusqu’à ce que le mécanisme empêche le brin de glisser

une fois le levier fermé. Si le levier devient trop dur à

rabattre, desserrez légèrement la vis.

SMASHLOCK™ SYSTEM

Le mécanisme SmashLock permet d’assujettir le brin

inférieur au reste du bâton. Pour replier le bâton, il

suffit d’ouvrir le FlickLock du brin supérieur puis de faire

coulisser ce dernier jusque dans le système SmashLock

de manière à le déverrouiller. Pour déplier le bâton,

il suffit de faire coulisser le brin inférieur dans le sens

opposé jusqu’à ce que le SmashLock se verrouille.

BÂTON D’AUTO-ARRÊT WHIPPET

• Le Whippet n’est ni un piolet ni un substitut de piolet.

• Ne pas tenir ni manier le Whippet comme un piolet.

Toujours le tenir par la poignée.

• Entraînez-vous à l’auto-arrêt afin de comprendre les

capacités du Whippet.

• Pour l’auto-arrêt, tenez une main sur le pic du

Whippet, le manche en diagonale le long du torse, et

une main près du système FlickLock Pro.

• Evitez l’auto-éviscération lorsque vous grimpez ou

skiez

REMPLACEMENT DES POINTES

La plupart de nos bâtons de randonnée sont vendus

équipés des pointes Tech en carbure ; les pointes en

caoutchouc étant disponibles en option.

Pour ôter une pointe Tech, tournez dans le sens inverse

des aiguilles d’une montre puis dévissez jusqu’à ce

qu’elle se désolidarise de la rondelle. Les pointes

Tech offrent une surface ondulée qui les empêchent

de glisser en cours d’utilisation. Il convient de forcer

légèrement pour passer ces aspérités.Cela est possible

manuellement ou éventuellement à l’aide d’une paire de

pinces.

RONDELLES

Pour fixer une rondelle : Poussez vigoureusement la

rondelle en tournant dans le sens des aiguilles d’une

montre jusqu’à ce qu’elle se cale solidement contre la

butée d’arrêt et puisse tourner librement.

Pour ôter une rondelle : Tirez vigoureusement la

rondelle en tournant dans le sens inverse des aiguilles

d’une montre jusqu’à extraction de celle-ci.

PRÉCAUTIONS D’UTILISATION ET ENTRETIEN

Ne jamais enduire les brins des bâtons d’huile ou de

silicone, ceci rendrait les jonctions glissantes pendant

l’usage. Toujours démonter les brins inférieurs après

une sortie de ski et les laisser sécher complètement

avant de les ranger.

Pour nettoyer les poignées en liège :

1. Utilisez du papier de verre très fin résistant à l’eau et

un savon ordinaire pour les mains.

2. Mouillez la poignée puis poncez entièrement.

3. Appliquez le savon sur le papier de verre puis frottez

soigneusement la poignée.

4. Rincez et laissez sécher.

INSPECTION & STOCKAGE

Avant et après chaque utilisation :

• Repérez toute déformation ou fissure.

• Vérifiez si vos mécanismes de réglage s’ouvrent et se

ferment correctement et si leur degré de serrage est

suffisant.

• Si les mécanismes deviennent durs à ouvrir ou fermer,

appliquez une goutte d’huile sur la broche du levier et

une autre sous le levier au niveau de l’axe de rotation.

• Déplier au maximum les brins inférieurs après une

utilisation en terrain humide et les laisser sécher

complètement avant de les stocker.

REMARQUE : Pour un stockage longue durée, les

mécanismes FlickLock doivent être stockés avec le

câble de tension desserré.

GEBRAUCHSANLEITUNG

FLICKLOCK®

De r pate nti er t e F lic kLo ck i st e in ex t e r n e r

Klemmmechanismus, der im geschlossenen Zustand

den Schaft der Stöcke so fest umschliesst, dass diese

Art der Verbindung stärker als der Schaft selbst ist.

Öffnen:

1. Halten Sie den Stock über dem FlickLock fest,

damit er sich nicht drehen kann, und öffnen Sie den

Klemmhebel mit dem Daumen.

2. Stellen Sie den Stock auf die gewünschte Länge ein.

3. Schliessen Sie den Hebel wieder, bis er einrastet.

EINSTELLEN DER SPANNUNG

Das FlickLock-System muss die richtige Spannung

aufweisen, um ordnungsgemäss funktionieren zu

können. Beginnt der untere Schaft zu rutschen, öffnen

Sie den Hebel und ziehen Sie die Einstellungsschraube

um eine viertel bis halbe Drehung oder mehr fest, bis

der Schaft im Mechanismus nicht mehr verrutschen

kann, wenn der Hebel geschlossen ist.

Wenn sich der Hebel nur schwer schliessen lässt,

lockern Sie die Schraube.

SMASHLOCK™-SYSTEM

Der SmashLock-Mechanismus sichert das untere

Stocksegment. Zum Verstauen die FlickLock-

Verriegelung am oberen Segment öffnen und das

Segment in das SmashLock-System hineinschieben,

um dieses zu entsperren. Um den Stock wieder zu

verwenden, das untere Schaftsegment herausziehen,

bis das SmashLock-System einrastet.

WHIPPET SELF-ARREST POLE

• Der Whippet ist kein Eispickel und ersetzt diesen auch

nicht.

• Schwingen und halten Sie den Whippet nicht wie

einen Eispickel. Halten Sie ihn stets am Griff fest.

• Üben Sie die den Gebrauch eines Stützpickels, um

sich mit der Funktionsweise vertraut zu machen.

• Beim Gebrauch als Stützpickel legen Sie eine Hand

über die Haue des Whippet (mit dem Schaft diagonal

zum Oberkörper) und die andere in die Nähe des

FlickLock Pro-Systems.

• Gehen Sie beim Klettern oder Skifahren umsichtig vor,

um Verletzungen zu vermeiden.

AUSTAUSCH DER SPITZEN

Die meisten Trekkingstöcke sind mit Karbidspitzen

(Tech Tips) ausgestattet, wobei optionale Gummispitzen

als Zubehör erhältlich sind. Um die Spitzen zu

entfernen, drehen Sie sie gegen den Uhrzeigersinn

und schrauben sie ab. Tech Tips wurden mit einem

wellenförmigen Sperrsystem aus Gummi entworfen,

um zu verhindern, dass sich die Spitzen während

des Gebrauc hs lösen. Si e müssen fest gen ug

drehen, um die wellenförmigen Rillen zu überwinden.

Möglicherweise benötigen Sie hierfür eine Zange. Neue

Spitzen werden installier t, indem Sie sie von Hand

oder ebenfalls mit einer Zange festschrauben. Sobald

die wellenförmigen Rillen mit den Rillen an der Spitze

in Kontakt kommen, sollten Sie noch 3 bis 4 Klicks

weiter drehen, bis sie fest sitzen. Gummispitzen sollten

sich leicht nach aussen wölben, wenn sie vollständig

festgezogen wurden.

Einige Modelle unserer Trekkingstöcke sind mit

traditionellen Flex-Spitzen ausgestattet. Um sie

auszutauschen, müssen die Flex-Spitzen erwärmt (in

kochendes Wasser eintauchen) und mit einer Zange

entfernt werden. Setzen Sie die neue Flex-Spitze fest in

die Stockspitze ein.

TELLER

So befestigen Sie einen Teller: Drücken Sie den

Teller auf die Stockspitze und drehen Sie ihn gleichzeitig

im Uhrzeigersinn, bis er an den Rand des Gewindes

stösst und frei gedreht werden kann.

So entfernen Sie einen Teller: Ziehen Sie kräftig am

Teller und drehen Sie ihn gegen den Uhrzeigersinn, bis

Sie ihn abnehmen können.

PFLEGE UND WARTUNG

Schmieren Sie die Schäfte niemals mit Öl oder

Silikon ein, da sie dadurch rutschig werden können.

Hierdurch funktioniert ein Reibungsschluss nicht mehr

korrekt, und die Stöcke können sich beim Gebrauch

zusammenschieben. Nehmen Sie die unteren Segmente

nach dem Skifahren stets ab und lassen sie vor der

Aufbewahrung vollständig trocknen.

Reinigung von Griffen aus Kork:

1. Verwenden Sie feines, wasserfestes Sandpapier und

normale Handseife.

2. Machen Sie den Griff nass und reiben Sie ihn

gründlich mit dem Sandpapier ab.

3. Geben Sie etwas Seife auf das Sandpapier und reiben

Sie den Griff vorsichtig damit ab.

4. Spülen Sie den Griff ab und lassen Sie ihn trocknen.

ÜBERPRÜFUNG & LAGERUNG

Vor und nach jedem Gebrauch:

• Stellen Sie sicher, dass nichts ver formt oder

beschädigt ist.

• Überprüfen Sie, ob sich die Einstellungssysteme leicht

öffnen und schliessen lassen und ob sie die richtige

Spannung haben.

• Wenn sich die FlickLocks nur schwer öffnen oder

schliessen lassen, geben Sie einen Tropfen Öl auf den

Hebelstift und einen weiteren Tropfen unterhalb des

Hebels, wo dieser in der Fassung sitzt.

• Werden die Stöcke beim Gebrauch einmal nass,

verlängern Sie die untersten Segmente und lassen Sie

sie vor der Aufbewahrung vollständig trocknen.

HINWEIS: Wenn Sie den Stock länger nicht benutzen,

lösen Sie den FlickLock-Mechanismus während der

Aufbewahrung.

I bastoncini da Trekking sono indicati solo per

il trekking e l’escursionismo. La resistenza

dell’alluminio e della fibra di carbonio viene

compromessa da ammaccature, graffi, crepe

rottura della struttura globale del bastoncino.

Se il bastoncino da trekking p2-ha subito un forte

impatto, controlla attentamente la superficie

per identificare eventuali segni di danno. I

bastoncini da trekking leggeri sono costruiti

per essere tali, e non sono quindi in grado

di sopportare forze eccessive se sono stati

precedentemente danneggiati o se la forza

applicata è al di sopra del limite strutturale

del bastoncino. I bastoncini in fibra di carbonio

ultraleggeri sono piu’ soggetti a danno

rispetto ad altri bastoncini e hanno bisogno

di un controllo frequente. Errori nel rispetto

di queste avvertenze possono provocare la

rottura del prodotto e causare incidenti o

addirittura portare alla morte.

ISTRUZIONI PER L’USO

FLICKLOCK®

Il meccanismo brevettato FlickLock è un sistema

esterno a camme che, quando chiuso, comprime

insieme le sezioni di un bastoncino per formare un

insieme unito più forte dello stesso sistema a tubo. Per

aprirlo:

1. Tieni il bastoncino sopra il FlickLock per evitare che

il bastoncino ruoti mentre tieni aperta la leva con il

pollice.

2. Regola il bastoncino alla lunghezza desiderata

3. Chiudi in maniera decisa la leva.

REGOLAZIONE DELLA TENSIONE

Il FlickLock p2-ha bisogno di un corretto tensionamento

per funzionare correttamente. Se la sezione più bassa

scivola non rimanendo nella posizione desiderata,

aprire la leva e stringere la vite di regolazione circa da

un quarto a mezzo giro. O fino a che il meccanismo

non permetta più alla sezione di scivolare una volta che

la leva è chiusa. Se risulta difficile far scattare la leva,

allentare la vite di molto poco.

SISTEMA SMASHLOCK™

Il meccanismo SmashLock fissa la sezione inferiore del

bastoncino. Per assestare i bastoncini, basta aprire il

FlickLock sulla sezione superiore e farlo scorrere verso

il basso nello SmashLock, sbloccandolo. Per estendere

il bastoncino, estrarre la sezione inferiore fino a quando

non si blocca il meccanismo SmashLock.

BASTONCINO WHIPPET SELF-ARREST

• Il Whippet non è una picozza da ghiaccio, nè ne è un

sostituto.

• Non impugnare o maneggiare il Whippet come se

fosse una picozza da ghiaccio. Tenerlo sempre

dall’impugnatura.

• Allenati nell’autobloccaggio cosi’ da comprenderne le

reali capacità e limiti.

• Per l’autobloccaggio, tieni una mano sopra la lama del

Whippet, con la sezione diagonale rispetto al tronco, e

una mano vicino al meccanismo FlickLock Pro.

• Evita brutte cadute quando scii o scali utilizzando il

Whippet.

SOSTITUIRE LE PUNTE

La maggior parte dei bastoncini da trekking hanno in

dotazione le Punte Tech in carburo e delle punte in

gomma opzionali. Per rimuovere le Punte Tech, ruotare

in senso antiorario e svitarle fino a che fuoriescano dalla

rondella. Le punte Tech sono state progettate con un

sistema di chiusura in gomma zigrinato che ne previene

la fuoriuscita durante l’uso. Per vincere e superare le

zigrinature è necessario svitare le punte con forza e

decisione. Quest’operazione potrebbe essere fattibile

con le proprie mani, ma potrebbero anche servire delle

pinze.

Per inserire delle punte nuove, avvitarle con le mani o

con delle pinze. Una volta che le zigrinature ondulate

vengono in contatto con le zigrinature della punta,

dovrebbero ruotare 3/4 volte prima di essere avvitate

totalmente. Le punte in gomma potrebbero sporgere

leggermente quando sono completamente avvitate e

strette.

Alcuni modelli di bastoncini da trekking hanno le punte

Flex. Per toglierle, devono essere scaldate ( immergetele

in acqua bollente) e tolte con delle pinze. In seguito, per

inserire una punta nuova, spingere con forza la nuova

punta Flex sulla punta del bastoncino.

RONDELLE

Agganciare una rondella: Spingi la rondella e gira in

senso orario fino a che é agganciata sull’ultimo tassello

e può ruotare liberamente.

Rimuovere una rondella: Tira la rondella e gira in

senso antiorario.

CURA E MANUTENZIONE

Non mettere mai olio o silicone sulle sezioni della

canna – questo potrebbe causare lo slittamento delle

sezioni durante l’utilizzo. Rimuovi sempre le sezioni

inferiori dopo aver sciato in modo da farle asciugare

completamente prima di riporle.

Per pulire un’impugnatura in sughero:

1. Utilizza della carta vetrata fine e impermeabile e del

sapone per le mani standard.

2. Bagna l’impugnatura e carteggiala in modo uniforme.

3. Applica del sapone sulla carta vetrata e strofina

l’impugnatura in maniera delicata.

4. Risciacqua e lascia asciugare.

CONTROLLO & CONSERVAZIONE

Prima e dopo ogni utilizzo:

• Assicurati che nulla sia deformato o rotto.

• Controlla che i meccanismi di regolazione si aprano e

INSTRUCCIONES DE USO

FLICKLOCK®

El mecanismo patentado FlickLock consiste en una

palanca externa dotada de una leva que, cuando está

cerrada, aprieta entre sí los tramos del bastón y forma

una junta más fuerte que los propios tubos. Para abrirlo:

1. Sujeta el bastón por encima del FlickLock para evitar

que el bastón rote, al tiempo que abres la palanca de

la leva empujando con tu dedo pulgar.

2. Ajusta el bastón a la longitud deseada.

3. Cierra la palanca empujándola hasta que encastre

con firmeza sobre el tubo.

AJUSTE DE LA TENSIÓN

El FlickLock requiere tener la tensión correcta para

que funcione adecuadamente. Si el tramo inferior se

desliza sobre el superior con la palanca cerrada, ábrela

y aprieta el tornillo de ajuste ente un cuarto de vuelta y

media vuelta, o hasta que el mecanismo impida que los

tubos deslicen entre sí cuando la palanca esté cerrada.

Si la palanca se vuelve demasiado dura de encastrar en

el tubo, afloja dicho tornillo.

SISTEMA SMASHLOCK™

El mecanismo Sma shLock asegura el segmento

inferior. Para guardar los bastones, simplemente abra

el mecanismo FlickLock, ubicado en el segmento

superior, y deslícelo hacia abajo hasta insertarlo en el

SmashLock, que quedará desbloqueado. Para extender

el bastón, tan solo tendrá que deslizar el segmento

inferior hacia fuera hasta que el SmashLock quede

bloqueado.

BASTÓN DE AUTODENTENCIÓN WHIPPET

• El Whippet no es un piolet, ni tampoco lo sustituye.

• No agarres o claves el Whippet como un piolet.

Sujétalo siempre por su mango.

• Practica la autodetención para que comprendas lo

CAMBIAR LAS PUNTAS

La mayoría de los bastones de senderismo vienen con

puntas de carburo (Tech Tips), pero hay disponibles

como opción puntas de goma. Para quitar las Tech Tips

gíralas en sentido antihorario y desenrróscalas. Las

Tech Tips están diseñadas con un sistema de apriete

de goma ondulada, para prevenir que se puedan soltar

mientras se usan los bastones. Tendrás que girarlas

con fuerza suficiente para vencer la resistencia de

que ofrecen los resaltes. Puede que seas capaz de

hacerlo con los dedos o tal vez tengas que usar unos

alicates. Para instalar puntas nuevas, róscalas a mano

o con unos alicates. Cuando los resaltes hayan hecho

contacto con las ondulaciones de la punta, deberían

hacer unos 3 o 4 clics más hasta quedar bien firmes.

Las puntas de goma deberían asomar levemente

cuando estén completamente apretadas.

Algunos modelos de bastones de senderismo vienen

con puntas tradicionales (Flex Tips). Para quitarlas, hay

que calentar los Flex Tips (sumergiéndolos en agua

hirviendo) y sacarlos tirando de ellos con unos alicates.

Para poner una punta Flex Tip nueva, empújala con

fuerza sobre el extremo inferior del bastón.

ROSETAS

Para poner una roseta: Empuja la roseta y róscala a

derechas hasta que quede fija contra el tope superior y

gire libremente.

Para quitar una roseta: Tira de la roseta y gírala a

izquierdas.

CUIDADOS Y MANTENIMIENTO

Nunca pongas aceite o silicona en los tramos del

bastón, pues eso podría hacer que las juntas resbalaran

durante el uso. Después de esquiar, saca siempre los

tramos inferiores y deja que se sequen por completo

antes de guardar los bastones.

Para limpiar empuñaduras de corcho:

1. Usa un papel de lija fino que pueda mojarse, y un

jabón para manos normal.

2. Humedece la empuñadura y lija bien.

3. Aplica jabón al papel de lija y frota con el mismo la

empuñadura con suavidad.

4. Aclara y déjalo secar.

INSPECCIÓN Y ALMACENAMIENTO

Antes y después de cada uso:

• Comprueba que no haya nada deformado o roto.

• Comprueba que los mecanismos de ajuste abran y

cierren con suavidad y tengan la tensión adecuada.

• Si resultan difíciles de abrir o cerrar: aplica una gotita

de aceite en el eje de la palanca y otra debajo de la

palanca, donde ésta gira sobre su alojamiento.

• En el caso de que los bastones se mojen al usarlos,

alarga los tramos inferiores y déjalos secar por

completo antes de guardarlos.

NOTA: Deja los mecanismos FlickLock con la tensión

suelta si el bastón va a quedar guardado mucho tiempo.

NASVETI ZA SPREMINJANJE

Večina pohodniških palic je dostavljenih z nameščenimi

karbidnimi tehničnimi konicami, na voljo pa so tudi

izbirne gumijaste tehnične konice. Če želite odstraniti

tehnične konice, jih zavrtite v nasprotni smeri urinega

kazalca in odvijte (morda boste morali uporabiti klešče).

Nove konice namestite tako, da jih zavrtite z roko.

Opomba: gumijaste konice je treba zamenjati, ko je

Nekaterim modelom pohodniških palic so priložene

tradicionalne upogljive konice. Če želite odstraniti

FLICKLOCK®

更换杖头
