This product is manufactured by AFX Inc. X Inc. hereby warran that this xture is free from defects in materials and workmanship when installed and used under normal AFts

operating conditions for a period of 5 years from date of purchase. This warranty covers all component parts and extends only to replacement of defective xture or

components; it does not cover failure due to improper installation, misuse, mishandling or damage incurred in transit. For questions, please class AFX 1-800--2326. 873

Safety Precautions

Read all safety precautions and installation instructions carefully before installing or servicing this xture. Failure to comply with these instructions could result in potentially fatal

electric shock and/or property damage.

It is recommended that a qualied electrician perform all wiring. This xture must be wired in accordance with all national and local electrical codes.

Do not handle any energized xture or attempt to energize any xture with wet hands or while standing on a wet or damp surface or in water.

This xture is designed for use in a 120 circuit. Dimming will depend on the lamp purchased (not provided VAC).

Make sure that the power source conforms to the requirements of the xture. (See labels on the xture housing) .

To reduce the risk of electrical shock, and to assure proper operation, this xture must be adequately grounded. To accomplish proper grounding, there must be a separate ground

wire (green) contact between this xture and the ground connection of your main power supply panel.

This xture is intended to be used for general indoor lighting in dry or damp locations.

Assembly Instructions

Step 1 Preparing for installation –

A. at fuse or circuit breaker box before installing or servicing any part of this Disconnect electrical power

xtur e.

B. Carefully remove the xture from the carton, remove components from hardware kit.

C. To adjust the cord, pull it through the canopy (5) and the threaded stem (3). Once the cord is at the desired

height, adjust the UL knot to the top side of the threaded stem.

D. Secure the mounting bracket (2) to the junction box (not included) using two screws (4).

Wiring All wiring must take place inside junction box (not included) –

Caution: Make sure power is o at fuse or circuit breaker box. Check power wires for damage or scrapes.

If power supply wires are within three inches of the canopy, use wire suitable for at least 90°C (194°F).

Note: Most dwellings built before 1985 have supply wire rated to 60°C. Consult a qualied electrician to

ensure correct branch circuit conductor before installing.

Step 2 Wiring xture –

A. Make all wire connections to appropriate wire. Secure with wire nuts (provided).

B. Connect the green wire from the xture to the supply power source ground wire.

C. Connect the black wire from the xture to the black (L) wire from supply power source .

D. Connect the white wire from the xture to the white (N) wire from supply power source.

E. Do not mix wires. Pull on each wire lead to make sure connections are secure. Make certain no bare wires

are exposed outside of wire connectors. Tuck all connections neatly into the junction box.

Step 3 Adjusting xture height –

A. Place canopy (5) over the junction box (not provided) and tuck wires into canopy. Thread on the strain relief

cap making sure that that canopy is ush with the ceiling. (6),

B. Tighten the plastic set screw in the strain relief cap (6) using a at head screwdriver. Do not over tighten, as

it will strip out the set screw.

Step 4 Lamping (not included) –

A. Install E26 base type lamp under 60W max rating into socket (10) and twist clockwise until securely snug.

Step 5 Restore power at fuse or circuit breaker box –

Step 6 Maintaining shade –

A. Periodically dust the shade with a clean, dry cloth. Wipe clean with a damp cloth as needed. Never use

abrasive cleaners.
