2
Feedback: Controls the amount of gain in the first feedback path.
Modes 1, 2, 3, 5 – Controls the amount of delay repeats.
Mode 4 – Controls the feedback of the first grain-verb process into the
second grain-verb process.
Regen (Regeneration): Controls the amount of gain in the second feedback path.
Mod (Modulation): Controls the amount of modulation applied to the wet signal.
Mix: Controls the amount of wet/dry mix.
Fully left = dry.
Fully right = wet.
X:The X knob controls grain size (chopped sample length) of the granular effects.
Turn left for long, smooth sampling, and turn right for short, choppy grains. On
Mode 5, this will also affect the rate at which the pitch shift changes in the granular
process.
Time:Controls the delay time and the granular buffer size, or time stretching of
grain algorithms.
Modes 1, 2, 3, 5 – Controls the delay time and the granular buffer size.
Mode 4 – Controls time stretching of grain-verb algorithms from 0.5x - 2x
sample rate.
Tone: Shapes the overall tone of the wet signal. A synth-style low-pass filter on the
output sweeps the full frequency spectrum from deep underwater lows to light
high-frequency roll-off, with slight resonance added for an extra satisfying control
response. At the top of the control range, a subtle high-pass filter is introduced into
the feedback paths, great for dialing in glassy repeats and breathy ambient clouds.
Tweak Button: Selects which of the five parameters
the Tweak knob adjusts.
Adjusts the amount of sonic width applied Width:
to the left and right wet outputs.
Rate of modulation LFO from 0.1 Hz to Mod Rate:
5 Hz.
Selection between Sine, Square and Mod Shape:
Random modulation LFO shapes.
Target sample rate of Dive / Rise effect from Shift:
0.5x to 2x.
Ramp rate for Dive / Rise feature from 1x Ramp:
sample rate to Shift rate and back from 50ms to
5000ms.
Controls

3
Tap Tempo: Tap to control the Time knob parameters:
Modes 1, 2, 3, 5: Controls delay time and size of
the granular buffer (both set to tapped rate).
Mode 4: Controls grain-verb time stretching, from 0.5x - 2x sample rate.
The tap LED will blink with the tapped tempo, or the tempo
set by the Time knob.
Shift: Holding down the Tap/Shift switch will momentarily shift the clock
rate of the pedal down or up and will hold it at that rate for as long as the
switch is pressed.
NOTE: In Mode 4, the Time control affects the same time-stretching/sample-
rate modulation process as the Shift control. If the Time and Shift Target
controls are set to the same value, activating Shift will produce no audible
effect because the sample rate will remain constant. To regain use of the Shift
effect, simply set the Time and Shift Target controls to different values.
This interaction can also be used creatively to produce larger sample-rate
jumps than are available in the other modes!
Mode Button: Selects from the five available modes.
Reverse Delay into Reverse GranularMode 1:
Forward Delay into Octave-Up GranularMode 2:
Analog Delay into Octave-Down GranularMode 3:
Multi-Tap Granular into Multi-Tap Granular Mode 4:
(Grain-Verb)
Forward Delay into Randomized Pitch Mode 5:
Granular
See pages 5-6 for full mode descriptions.
Trails: The Fable can run in Trails or No Trails mode. In Trails mode, when you turn
the pedal off, the reverb / feedback decay dies off naturally. In No Trails mode, the
decay is abruptly cut off when you turn the pedal off. The Fable ships with Trails
mode on.
To toggle between either Trails modes:
1.Hold down the bypass switch while applying power to the pedal.
2.After approximately four seconds, the Tap/Shift LED will rapidly blink for 1
second confirming you have changed Trails modes.
3.A rapid blue LED confirms you are in Trails mode. A rapid green LED confirms
you are in No Trails mode.
4.Repeat the process to change modes again.
