memory card. Always keep these operating instructions close to your computer, but store them safely so that you can pass them on to

a new owner should you sell the device.

Data backup

Always back up your updated data to an external storage device (CD or DVD disc). We do not accept any liability for claims for

compensation arising from the loss of data or any consequential damages incurred.

Safety instructions

• To avoid malfunctions, keep the memory card away from moisture and avoid placing it in a dusty area, near sources of heat or in

direct sunlight.

• Children should be supervised to ensure they do not play with this memory card. Seek medical help immediately if the memory

card is accidentally swallowed.

• Insert the memory card as indicated by the icon on the slot. Never force the memory card into the slot. Never bend or twist the

memory card.

• After transport, wait until the memory card has reached ambient temperature before using it for the first time. Major fluctuations

in temperature or humidity can lead to condensation which could cause an electrical short-circuit. Store the memory card in the

protective case.

Electromagnetic compatibility

• You must comply with the European directives on electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) when making connections. Maintain a

distance of at least one metre from high-frequency and magnetic sources of interference (TV sets, loudspeakers, mobile phones,

etc.) in order to avoid malfunctions and data loss.

Cleaning

• The card does not generally need to be cleaned.

• Ensure that the card does not become dirty. Do not use solvents, corrosive or aerosol detergent to clean the card. If necessary, the

casing can be wiped down with a damp cloth.

Disposal

Packaging

Your card has been packaged to protect it against transportation damage. The packaging is made of environmentally friendly

material which can be recycled.

Device

At the end of its service life, the card should not be disposed of with the household rubbish. Please enquire about the options

for environmentally friendly disposal.

Initial operation

PLEASE NOTE!

Follow the instructions for your computer, mobile phone, digital camera, PD or other device.

Inserting the SDHC memory card

Remove the SDHC card from the protective case and insert it in the SDHC memory card slot in your computer, mobile phone,

digital camera or PDA.

The system will recognize the memory card and assign it a drive letter.

You can now use the memory card as a hard drive (copy or delete data, etc.). You can also delete the data on the memory card to

make room for new files.

Removing the SDHC memory card

Before you remove the card ensure that no data is currently being transferred. This could result in data loss. After removal, store

the SDHC memory card in the protective case supplied.

Troubleshooting

SDHC card is not recognised:

• Is the card properly inserted?

• Check the Windows® device manager to ensure the the card slots have been installed properly. If necessary, re-install the card slots.

If the card is connected to your computer via a USB card reader, please check the card reader to ensure the USB connection is firm.

• Check the card reader to ensure it can read an SDHC card. SDHC cards are only recognised by SDHC card readers.

Data cannot be read/written:

• Did you format the SDHC card with another computer? Different formats (FAT/NTFS) may be incompatible. Save the data and

reformat the card using a compatible format.

• Is the card write-protected? Unlock the SDHC card by toggling the lock switch.

Please note:

If the memory card can no longer be used as a result of an unforeseen keyboard combination, a failed data transfer or electrostatic

discharge, remove the card as per instructions and then insert it again.
