devicescanbeusedwithexternalcomponentsto
obtainadjustableoutputvoltagesandcurrents.
Considerableeffortwasexpendedtomaketheentire
seriesofregulatorseasytouseandminimizethe
numberofexternalcomponents.Itisnotnecessaryto
bypasstheoutput,althoughthisdoesimprove
transientresponse.Inputbypassingisneededonlyif
theregulatorislocatedfarfromthefiltercapacitorof
thepowersupply.
