TheADS6424/ADS6423/ADS6422(ADS642X)isafamilyofhighperformance12-bit105/80/65MSPSquad
channelA-Dconverters.SerialLVDSdataoutputsreducethenumberofinterfacelines,resultinginacompact
64-pinQFNpackage(9mm×9mm)thatallowsforhighsystemintegrationdensity.Thedeviceincludes3.5dB
coarsegainoptionthatcanbeusedtoimproveSFDRperformancewithlittledegradationinSNR.Inadditionto
thecoarsegain,finegainoptionsalsoexist,programmablein1dBstepsupto6dB.
Theoutputinterfaceis2-wire,whereeachADCdataisserializedandoutputovertwoLVDSpairs.Thismakesit
possibletohalvetheserialdatarate(comparedtoa1-wireinterface)andrestrictittolessthan1Gbpseasing
receiverdesign.TheADS642Xalsoincludesthetraditional1-wireinterfacethatcanbeusedatlowersampling
frequencies.
Aninternalphaselockloop(PLL)multipliestheincomingADCsamplingclocktoderivethebitclock.Thebit
clockisusedtoserializethe12-bitdatafromeachchannel.Inadditiontotheserialdatastreams,theframeand
bitclocksarealsotransmittedasLVDSoutputs.TheLVDSoutputbuffershavefeaturessuchasprogrammable
LVDScurrents,currentdoublingmodesandinternalterminationoptions.Thesecanbeusedtowideneye-
openingsandimprovesignalintegrity,easingcapturebythereceiver.
TheADCchanneloutputscanbetransmittedeitherasMSBorLSBfirstand2scomplementorstraightbinary.
