TheADS1120-Q1isaprecision,16-bit,analog-to-
digitalconverter(ADC)thatoffersmanyintegrated
featurestoreducesystemcostandcomponentcount
inapplicationsmeasuringsmallsensorsignals.The
devicefeaturestwodifferentialorfoursingle-ended
inputsthroughaflexibleinputmultiplexer(MUX),a
low-noise,programmablegainamplifier(PGA),two
programmableexcitationcurrentsources,avoltage
reference,anoscillator,alow-sideswitch,anda
precisiontemperaturesensor.
Thedevicecanperformconversionsatdataratesup
to2000samples-per-second(SPS)withsingle-cycle
settling.At20SPS,thedigitalfilteroffers
simultaneous50-Hzand60-Hzrejectionfornoisy
industrialapplications.TheinternalPGAoffersgains
upto128V/V.ThisPGAmakestheADS1120-Q1
ideally-suitedforapplicationsmeasuringsmallsensor
signals,suchasresistancetemperaturedetectors
(RTDs),thermocouples,thermistors,andbridge
sensors.Thedevicesupportsmeasurementsof
pseudo-orfully-differentialsignalswhenusingthe
PGA.Alternatively,thedevicecanbeconfiguredto
bypasstheinternalPGAwhilestillprovidinghigh
inputimpedanceandgainsupto4V/V,allowingfor
single-endedmeasurements.
Powerconsumptionisaslowas120µAwhen
operatinginduty-cyclemodewiththePGAdisabled.
Communicationtothedeviceisestablishedthrougha
mode1SPI-compatibleinterface.TheADS1120-Q1
isofferedinaTSSOP-16packageandisspecified
overatemperaturerangeof–40°Cto+125°C.
