This radio has Radio Controlled Clock Auto

Adjust System that adjusts to the current time.

The Radio Controlled Clock Auto Adjust System

receives the clock data (Year, month, day, hour,

minute, second and D.S.T.) on a certain radio

wave and radio controls the clock time.

Be sure to set the radio where reception would

be easier.

1.Set the radio.

Choose a place where there is good

reception as possible.

2.Plug in the unit.

The Clock Auto Adjust function will

automatically operate and “” will ﬂash in

the display.

When the reception is poor, set the FM and Clock

Auto Adjust antenna in a place and at an angle

where the reception is much more stronger.

What is Clock Auto

Adjust System?

The clock data that is sent has a total of 60 units

(this total unit is called 1 frame), the data sent is 1

unit for every second. This radio receives this

data one by one from data No. 1 to data No. 60.

When the radio receives the ﬁrst frame, it then

starts to receive the second frame for

conﬁrmation. When the 2nd frame has been

conﬁrmed, then the clock time data reception has

been completed. When the unit is plugged in,

this function will operate until the time has been

received completely.

Ce radioréveil comprend un système de réglage

automatique de l’horloge par la radio. C’est-à-

dire que ce système peut recevoir des données,

telles que l’année, le mois, le jour, l’heure, les

minutes, les secondes et l’heure d’été sur une

onde radio précise et régler ensuite l’horloge en

conséquence.

Veillez à poser le radioréveil dans un endroit de

réception optimale.

1.Installez le radioréveil.

Choisissez l’emplacement où la

réception est la meilleure possible.

2.Branchez le radioréveil.

l’horloge?

Les données d’horloge transmises forment un

total de 60 unités (ce total correspond à 1 cadre)

et une unité de données est transmise chaque

seconde. Le radioréveil reçoit les données par

unité, de l’unité No.1 à l’unité No. 60. Quand le

radioréveil a reçu le premier cadre, le deuxième

cadre est reçu pour conﬁrmation. Quand le

deuxième cadre a été reçu, la réception des

données horaires est terminée. Quand le

radioréveil est branché cette fonction est sactivée

jusqu’ à ce que l’heure soit complètement reçue.

Lorsque le réglage automatique de

l’horloge est terminé

Si la réception n’a pas changé, vous n’avez pas

besoin de changer de nouveau l’heure. Le

réglage automatique de l’horloge fonctionne

chaque nuit à 3:05 du matin pour que l’horloge

soit toujours à l’heure. Si la réception est

incomplète après 12 minutes, l’horloge revient au

réglage original de l’heure et “” disparaît de

l’affichage.

Si vous voulez redémarrer le

système de réglage automatique de

l’horloge

Appuyez sur CLOCK AUTO ADJUST.

Quand l’horloge fonctionne, “” se met à

clignoter et indique que le réglage automatique

de l’horloge est en service. Quand la réception

des données est terminée, “” reste allumé et

l’horloge indique l’heure actuelle. Si la réception

est incomplète après 12 minutes, l’horloge

A propos de l’indication

de l’heure d’été (D.S.T.)

Le passage à l’heure d’été est automatiquement

eﬀectué par le réglage automatique de l’horloge.

L’heure d’été est décalée par rapport à l’heure

normale.

d’environ 1 heure et 10 minutes.

Heure d’été t Heure d’hiver: décalage

d’environ 10 minutes.

Pendant l’heure d’été, “” apparaît dans

Appuyez sur D.S.T.•SUMMER T.

Réglage manuel de

l’horloge

1.Appuyez sur CLOCK pendant plus

d’une seconde.

L’indication de l’année se met à clignoter

dans l’aﬃchage.

apparaisse dans l’aﬃchage.

3..Appuyez une fois sur CLOCK

L’indication suivante clignote dans

l’affichage.

4.Répétez les étapes 2 et 3 pour régler le

mois, la date, l’heure et les minutes.

Après avoir réglé les minutes, appuyez sur

CLOCK et relâchez pour démarrer les

secondes.

Remarque

•Si vous vous arrêtez pendant le réglage de

l’horloge, l’aﬃchage précédent réapparaît

environ en l’espace d’une minute.

•Pour régler l’heure à la seconde près, relâchez

CLOCK quand le top horaire de la radio ou du

téléphone retentit à l’étape 4 ci-dessus.

FM: Déployez l’antenne ﬁl FM pour améliorer la

réception FM.

AM(PO)/GO: Faites pivoter le radioréveil à

l’horizontale pour une réception

optimale. Une barre de ferrite est

intégrée au radioréveil.

Réglage de l’alarme

Vous pouvez sélectionner l’alarme radio, ALARM

A, ou la sonnerie, ALARM B.

Pour régler l’alarme radio, accordez d’abord une

station comme décrit dans “Fonctionnement de

la radio” et réglez le volume.

1.Eteignez le radioréveil.

2.Tout en tenant ALARM A ou B

enfoncée, appuyez sur TIME SET + ou

– jusqu’à ce que l’heure souhaitée

apparaisse dans l’aﬃchage.

Quand vous relâchez , leALARM Aou B

réglage de l’alarme est terminé.

La radio ou la sonnerie se déclenchera

automatiquement à l’heure préréglée et

s’arrêtera 60 minutes plus tard.

•Pour éteindre l’alarme manuellement, appuyez

sur ALARM RESET/OFF. L’alarme se

déclenchera de nouveau le jour suivant à

l’heure préréglée.

•Pour annuler l’alarme avant qu’elle ne se

déclenche

Tout en tenant ALARM A ou B enfoncée,

appuyez sur ALARM RESET/OFF.

•Pour contrôler l’heure préréglée, appuyez sur

ALARM Aou B.

Remarques

•Le niveau de la sonnerie est ﬁxe et

indépendant du réglage de VOLUME.

•Si vous réglez ALARM A et ALARM B sur la

même heure, seule l’alarme A fonctionne.

•Vous pouvez mettre l’alarme radio en service

ou la sonnerie même pendant que vous écoutez

la radio.

•Les réglages de l’alarme sont sauvegardés

pendant 10 minutes, et au-delà ils seront

annulés.

Pour sommeiller quelques minutes

de plus

Appuyez sur SNOOZE/SLEEP OFF.

La radio ou la sonnerie s’arrête mais elle se

remettra en marche au bout de 8 minutes

environ. Vous pouvez répéter cette opération à

volonté.

•Vous pouvez changer l’heure de l’alarme après

avoir activé la fonction snooze.

Pour utiliser la minuterie sommeil

et l’alarme

Vous pouvez vous endormir au son de la radio et

être réveillé par la radio ou la sonnerie à l’heure

préréglée.

1.Réglez l’alarme. (voir “Réglage de

l’alarme”).

2.Réglez la minuterie sommeil. (Voir

“Réglage de la minuterie sommeil”.)

Installation

•Posez le radioréveil près d’une fenêtre ou dans

un endroit où la réception est bonne.

•N’installez pas le radioréveil dans les endroits

où la réception est de mauvaise qualité, comme

par exemple:

—près d’un téléviseur, réfrigérateur,

ordinateur, etc.

—sur une table ou une étagère métallique, ou

tout autre objet métallique.

•Faites fonctionner le radioréveil sur les sources

d’alimentation mentionnées dans les

“Spécifications”.

•La plaque signalétique indiquant la tension de

fonctionnement et autres informations

électriques se trouve sous le radioréveil.

•Débranchez le cordon d’alimentation en tirant

sur la ﬁche. Ne tirez jamais sur le cordon

proprement dit.

•Ne pas poser le radioréveil sur une surface

moelleuse (comme un tapis, une couverture,

etc.) ou près de tissus (comme un rideau ou

une tenture) risquant de bloquer les oriﬁces de

ventilation.

•Si un solide ou liquide tombait dans le

radioréveil, débranchez-le et faites-le vériﬁer

par un technicien qualiﬁé avant de le remettre

en service.

•Le radioréveil n’est pas déconnecté de la source

d’alimentation secteur tant qu’il est branché

sur la prise murale, même s’il a été mis hors

tension.

Faites pivoter le radioréveil à l’horizontale ou

installez-le dans un endroit où la réception est

meilleure.

La radio ou la sonnerie ne se déclenche pas à

l’heure préréglée.

Vériﬁez les points suivants:

• Est-ce que l’heure est réglée correctement?

Vériﬁez l’indication AM/PM.

Timer

By setting the sleep timer, you can fall asleep to

the radio sound. The radio turns oﬀ after the

selected time.

Press SLEEPrepeatedly until the desired

Precautions

On Installation

•Try near a window or place the radio where

the reception is better.

•Do not place the unit where the reception

would become weak (as follows).

— near a T.V., refrigerator, computer, etc.

— on a steel table, steel shelf, and other steel

objects.

•Operate the unit on the power sources

speciﬁed in “Speciﬁcations”.

•The nameplate indicating operating voltage,

etc. is located on the bottom exterior.

•To disconnect the power cord, pull it out by the

plug, not the cord.

•Do not place the unit on surfaces (rugs,

blankets, etc.) or near materials (curtains,

draperies) that block the ventilation holes.

•Should anything fall into the unit, unplug the

unit and have it checked by qualiﬁed personnel

before operating it further.

•The unit is not disconnected from the AC

power source (mains) as long as it is connected

to the wall outlet, even if the unit itself is

turned oﬀ.

Troubleshooting

Should any problem occur with the unit, make

the following simple checks to determine

whether or not servicing is required.

If the problem persists, consult the nearest Sony

dealer.

The clock auto adjust function does not

operate and the clock display is stopped at

10:00.

Weak reception, the unit cannot receive the

current time data.

Rotate the unit horizontally or place the radio

where the reception is better.

The radio or buzzer alarm sound does not

come on at the preset time.

Check the followings:

• Is the current time correctly set?

Check the AM/PM indication.

(UK model only.)

• Is the alarm time correctly set?

Check the AM/PM indication.

(UK model only.)

• For radio alarm, is the desired station tuned

in?

• For radio, is the VOLUME control adjusted

correctly?

If it is turned down completely, the alarm

sound will not be heard. Be sure to turn up the

volume.

• Only the alarm settings have been cancelled.

When there was a service interruption for more

than 10 minutes, the alarm settings and clock

settings have been reset. Then the Clock Auto-

Adjust function activated and the clock time

has been set to the current time.

About Radio Reception

The radio controlled signal is transmitted from

the areas shown below.

England:Teddington, Middlesex

•The U.K. models will receive the radio signal

from England. The current time of England

will be displayed.

•The other models will receive the radio signal

from Germany. The current time of Germany

will be displayed.

•There may be areas where radio reception is

weak.

Once the Clock Auto Adjust has

been completed

If the reception has not changed, you do not have

to set the clock again.

The Clock Auto Adjust function will

automatically operate everynight at AM 3:05 to

keep the correct time. If the reception is

incomplete after 12 minutes, the time setting will

return to the original time and “” will

disappear from the display.

If you want to Restart the Clock

Auto Adjust

Press .CLOCK AUTO ADJUST

While the Clock is operating, “” will start to

ﬂash indicating that the Clock Auto Adjust

function is operating. If the reception has been

completed “” will be displayed and the clock

time will change to the current time. If the

reception is incomplete after 12 minutes, the time

setting will return to the original time and “”

will disappear from the display.

About Daylight Saving

Time (summer time)

indication

The changing of the summer time will be

automatically changed by Clock Auto Adjust

function. The change of summer time will have a

time lag.

Winter Time Summer Time: about 1 hour andt

10 minutes time lag.

Summer Time Winter Time: about 10 minutest

time lag.

During the Summer Time mode “” will

appear in the display.

To Change the Display to the

Daylight Saving Time (summer time)

Indication

Press •D.S.T.SUMMER T.

“” will appear and the time indication

changes to the summer time.

To cancel the summer time indication, press

D.S.T.•SUMMER T. again.

Manual Setting the

Clock

1. Press CLOCKfor more than 1 second.

The "Year" will start to ﬂash in the display.

2. Press or until the correctTIME SET +–

number appears in the display.

3. Press once.CLOCK

The next category will ﬂash in the display.

4. Repeat steps to set the month,2 and 3

date, hour, and minute.

After setting the minute, press and release

CLOCK to start the counting of the seconds.

Note

•If you quit during the clock setting , after about

a minute the previous display will return.

•To set the current time exactly to the second,

release CLOCK with the radio or telephone time

signal in step 4 (above).

Operating the Radio

1. Press RADIO ON.

2. Select orBAND (FM AM for ICF-

C60RC, ,orFM MW LW for ICF-

C60LRC)

3. Tune in to a station using TUNING.

To Improve Radio Reception

FM: Extend the FM wire antenna to improve FM

reception.

AM(MW)/LW: Rotate the unit horizontally for

optimum reception. A ferrite bar antenna is

built into the unit.

Setting the Alarm

You can set the radio alarm to , andALARM A

buzzer alarm to ALARM B.

To set the radio alarm, ﬁrst tune in a station as

described in “Operating the Radio” and adjust

the volume.

1. Turn oﬀ the radio.

2. While holding down ALARM A or B,

press TIME SET + or – until the desired

time appears in the display.

When you release , the alarmALARM Aor B

setting is completed.

The radio or buzzer will automatically sound

at the preset time, and automatically turn

itself oﬀ after 60 minutes.

•To turn oﬀ the alarm manually, press ALARM

RESET/OFF. The alarm will come on at the

preset time the next day.

Het radiosynchroon klokinstelsysteem ontvangteen volledig tijdsignaal (jaar, maand,dagnummer, uur, minuut, sekonde en zomertijd-instelling) op een speciale radiogolf en zorgt dandat de klok precies met dit tijdsignaal gelijk blijftlopen. In verband hiermee is het aanbevolen de radioneer te zetten op een plaats waar de ontvangstoptimaal is. 1. Plaats de radiowekker waar u deze wiltgebruiken. Kies een plaats die goede radio-ontvangst biedt. 2.

Steek de stekker in het stopkontakt. Het radiosynchroon klokinstelsysteem treedtautomatisch in werking en de “ ”aanduiding gaat in het uitleesvensterknipperen. Stel de radiozodanig op dat hier“1” wordtKnippert aangegeven.

De klockgaat lopen zodrahet cijfer in de rechterbovenhoek (voor de eerstekeer) naar 1 verspringt. Nederlands3. Wat is hetradiosynchroonklokinstelsysteem. Het kloksignaal dat wordt uitgezonden bestaatuit blokken van 60 eenheden, waarbij elkeeenheid gelijk is aan 1 sekonde. De radioontvangt deze gegevens van 1 t/m 60, het eersteblok ter gelijkstelling en het tweede blok terbevestiging. Wanneer het tweede blok in zijngeheel is ontvangen en de gelijkstelling isbevestigd, is de gegevensoverdracht voltooid.

Zolang het apparaat is ingeschakeld, blijft dezefunktie werken tot alle tijdsgegevens kompleetzijn ontvangen. Deze modellen worden dus gelijkgesteld op detijd in Duitsland. • Er kunnen gebieden zijn waar hetradiosynchronisatie-tijdsignaal onvoldoendekrachtig doorkomt. Wanneer de radiosynchroneklokinstelling is voltooidZolang de stekker niet een tijdlang uit hetstopkontakt blijft, hoeft u de klok niet opnieuwgelijk te zetten. Het automatisch klokinstelsysteem treedt elkenacht om 3:05 automatisch in werking om tezorgen dat de klok precies gelijk blijft lopen. Alsde radiosynchrone klokinstelling na 12 minutennog niet voltooid is, keert de tijdsaanduidingterug naar de geldende tijdinstelling enverdwijnt de “ ” aanduiding uit hetuitleesvenster. Weer inschakelen van hetradiosynchroon klokinstelsysteemDruk op de CLOCK AUTO ADJUST toets.

Wanneer de klok loopt, gaat de “ ” aanduidingin het uitleesvenster knipperen, ten teken dat deradiosynchrone klokinstelling in werking is. Wanneer de klokinstelling voltooid is, blijft de“ ” aanduiding branden en geeft de klok dejuiste tijd aan. Als de radiosynchroneklokinstelling na 12 minuten nog niet voltooid is,keert de tijdsaanduiding terug naar deoorspronkelijke tijdinstelling en verdwijnt de“ ” aanduiding uit het uitleesvenster. Betreﬀende dezomertijd-aanduidingHet overschakelen naar de zomertijd (en weerterug naar wintertijd) wordt automatischverricht door het radiosynchroonklokinstelsysteem, maar er zal hierbij wel eentussenpauze zonder betrouwbaretijdsaanduiding zijn. Wintertijd t zomertijd: ongeveer 1 uur en 10minuten tussenpauze. Zomertijd t wintertijd: ongeveer 10 minutentussenpauze. Wanneer de zomertijd is ingeschakeld, blijft het“ ” teken in het uitleesvenster zichtbaar.

Het “ ” teken verschijnt in het uitleesvensteren in plaats van de gewone tijdsaanduidingwordt nu de zomertijd aangegeven. Om de zomertijd-aanduiding uit te schakelen,drukt u nogmaals op de D. S. T. •SUMMER T. toets. Handmatig gelijkzettenvan de klok1. Houd de CLOCK toets langer dan eensekonde ingedrukt. De aanduiding “Year” zal nu in hetuitleesvenster gaan knipperen. 2. Druk op de of TIME SET + – toets tothet juiste jaartal in het uitleesvensterwordt aangegeven. 3. Druk nogmaals op de CLOCK toets. Het volgende onderdeel van detijdsaanduiding gaat knipperen. 4. Herhaal de stappen 2 en 3 omachtereenvolgens de mand, hetdagnummer, het uur en de juisteminuut in te stellen. Na het instellen van de minuut drukt u deCLOCK toets in en laat u deze los op hetmoment dat de klok moet gaan lopen vanafnul sekonden.

Opmerkingen• Als het gelijkzetten van de klok tussentijdswordt onderbroken, keert na ongeveer eenminuut de vorige tijdsaanduiding weer terug. • Om de klok precies op de sekonde gelijk tezetten, laat u in stap 4 (hierboven) de CLOCKtoets los op het moment dat het tijdsignaal vande radio, TV of telefoon klinkt. Bediening van deradio1. Druk op de RADIO ON toets. 2. Kies de gewenste afstemband met deBAND FM AM toets ( of voor de ICF-C60RC, , FM MW of LW voor de ICF-C60LRC). 3. Stem af op de gewenste radiozendermet de afstemknop. TUNING4. Stel de geluidssterkte naar wens in metde VOLUME regelaar. • Om de radio uit te schakelen, drukt u op deRADIO OFF toets. Verbeteren van de radio-ontvangstFM: Strek de FM draadantenne volledig uit omde FM-gevoeligheid te vergroten.

AM(MG)/LG: De kwaliteit van de ontvangsthangt af van de richting van de ingebouwdeferrietstaaf-antenne en dus de stand van hetapparaat. Draai het in een horizontaal vlakom de beste stand te vinden. Zetten van dewekkerU kunt de radiowekker instellen op de ALARM Awektijd en de zoemer op de wektijd.

ALARM BOm gewekt te worden door de radiowekker, zultu eerst op moeten afstemmen op een radiozenderzoals beschreven onder “Bediening van deradio” en tevens de geluidssterkte voor hetwekgeluid moeten instellen. 1. Schakel de radio uit. 2. Houd nu de of ALARM A B toetsingedrukt en druk daarbij op de TIMESET + – of toets tot de gewenste wektijdin het uitleesvenster wordt aangegeven. Wanneer u de toets loslaat, isALARM A of Bde instelling van de wekker een feit. Op de ingestelde wektijd zal de zoemerklinken of de radio gaan spelen, om 60minuten later weer automatischuitgeschakeld te worden. • Om het wekgeluid uit te schakelen, drukt u opde ALARM RESET/OFF toets. De wekker wordtdan de volgende dag op dezelfde tijd weeringeschakeld. • Om de wekker uit te schakelen vóór deingestelde wektijd is bereikt, houdt u deALARM A of B toets ingedrukt en drukt udaarbij op de ALARM RESET/OFF toets.

• Om de ingestelde wektijd te kontroleren, druktu op de toets. ALARM A of BOpmerkingen• De geluidssterkte van de zoemer is vastingesteld, onafhankelijk van de stand van deVOLUME regelaar. • Als u de en de wekker opALARM A ALARM Bdezelfde wektijd instelt, zal alleen de ALARMA wekker klinken. • Ook tijdens het luisteren naar de radio kunt ude instelling voor de radio- of zoemtoon-wekker maken. • De wekker heeft slechts voor 10 minutenreservevoeding, dus bij eenstroomonderbreking van meer dan 10 minutenzullen de wekker-instellingen komen tevervallen. Nog een paar minuten doezelen,met de repeteerwekkerDruk op de SNOOZE/SLEEP OFF toets. De radiowekker of de zoemtoon stopt dan,maar zal automatisch na circa 8 minutenweer klinken. Dit kunt u net zovaakherhalen als u wilt. • U kunt desgewenst een nieuwe wektijdinstellen terwijl de repeteerfunktie isingeschakeld.

Gebruik van zowel desluimerfunktie als de wekkerU kunt in slaap vallen terwijl u naar de radioluistert, om later op de ingestelde wektijd weergewekt te worden door de radio of de zoemtoon. 1. Stel de wekker in.

(Zie onder “Zettenvan de wekker”. )2. Schakel de sluimerfunktie in. (Zie“Gebruik van de sluimerfunktie”hieronder. Gebruik van desluimerfunktieDe sluimerfunktie stelt u in staat gerust in slaapte vallen bij het geluid van de radio. Na de dooru gekozen sluimertijd zal de radio automatischworden uitgeschakeld. Druk net zovaak op de toets tot deSLEEPgewenste sluimertijd in het uitleesvensterverschijnt. Telkens wanneer u op de toets drukt,SLEEPverandert de tijdsaanduiding voor desluimerfunktie als volgt. On (AAN) 90 60 30OFF (UIT) 15Na het instellen van de sluimertijd wordt weerde juiste tijd aangegeven. • Om de sluimerfunktie uit te schakelen vóór deingestelde tijdsduur is verstreken, drukt u opde SNOOZE/SLEEP OFF toets. VoorzorgsmaatregelenOpstelling• Plaats het apparaat zo mogelijk in de buurt vaneen raam of op een andere plaats met optimaleradio-ontvangst.

• Vermijd plaatsen waar de radio-ontvangst kanworden gestoord door (bijvoorbeeld):— elektrische apparatuur als een TV-toestel,een koelkast of een personal computer, enz. — een stalen bureau, een stalen boekenrek ofdergelijke grote stalen voorwerpen. • Gebruik het apparaat op de stroomvoorzieningdie in de paragraaf “Technische gegevens”staat aangegeven. • Een naamplaatje met daarop debedrijfsspanning e. d. bevindt zich aan deonderkant van het apparaat. • Pak voor het verbreken van de aansluiting vanhet netsnoer altijd de stekker vast. Trek nooitaan het snoer zelf. • Zet het apparaat niet op een zachte ondergrond(zoals een deken, een kleedje of tapijt), enplaats het niet vlak tegen gordijnen of eenwandtapijt aan, daar dit de ventilatie-openingen zou kunnen blokkeren.

• Mocht er vloeistof of een voorwerp in hetapparaat terechtkomen, trek dan de stekker uithet stopkontakt en laat het apparaat daarnaeerst door een bevoegd vaktechnicus nakijken,alvorens het weer in gebruik te nemen.

• Zolang het netsnoer op het stopkontakt isaangesloten, blijft de stroomtoevoer naar hetapparaat intakt, zelfs nadat het apparaat isuitgeschakeld. Mocht u vragen of problemen betreﬀende dewerking of bediening van het apparaathebben, aarzel dan niet kontakt op te nemenmet uw plaatselijke Sony handelaar. Zwakke radio-ontvangst, zodat het apparaat dejuiste tijdgegevens niet kan ontvangen. Draai het apparaat in een horizontaal vlak of zethet op een andere plaats waar de ontvangst beteris. De radiowekker of de zoemer gaat niet af opde ingestelde wektijd. Kontroleer de volgende punten:• Geeft de tijdsaanduiding wel de juiste tijdaan. Is de voor/namiddag instelling juist.

AM/PM(alleen bij het model voor Groot-Brittannië)• Is de wektijd wel juist ingesteld. Is de voor/namiddag wektijd-AM/PMinstelling juist. (alleen bij het model voor Groot-Brittannië)• Voor gewekt worden door de radio, staat deradio wel op de gewenste radiozenderafgestemd.
