ORIGINAL INSTRUCTIONS
Safety, performance, and dependability have been given top
priority in the design of your planer.
INTENDED USE
The planer is intended for planing wood (removing an even layer
to provide a smooth, at nish) and rebating wood.
Do not use the product for any other purpose.
WARNING Read all safety warnings, instructions,
illustrations and specifications provided with this power
tool. Failure to follow all instructions listed below may result in
electric shock, re and/or serious injury.
Save all warnings and instructions for future reference.
PLANER SAFETY WARNINGS
■Wait for the cutter to stop before setting the tool down.
An exposed rotating cutter may engage the surface leading to
possible loss of control and serious injury.
■Use clamps or another practical way to secure and support
the workpiece to a stable platform. Holding the workpiece by
your hand or against the body leaves it unstable and may lead
to loss of control.
ADDITIONAL SAFETY WARNINGS
■The product should only be used in well-ventilated areas.
■Do not power on the product again after it has stalled. Powering
it on again can cause a kickback with a high reaction force.
Determine why the product has stalled and rectify it, paying
heed to the safety instructions. If necessary, remove the tool
attachment.
■The product is not intended to be used for stationary planing.
■The dust produced when using the product may be harmful to
health. Do not inhale the dust. Use a dust absorption system
and wear a suitable dust protection mask. Remove deposited
dust thoroughly, e.g., with a dust extractor.
■Do not throw sanding dust into an open fire because materials in
fine particle form may be explosive.
■Dust from certain paints, coatings, and materials may cause
irritation or allergic reactions. Dust from wood, such as oak,
beech, MDF, and others, are carcinogenic. Materials containing
asbestos should only be worked on or processed by qualified
specialist operators.
■Injuries may be caused or aggravated by prolonged use of the
product. When using any product for extended periods, ensure
to take regular breaks.
ADDITIONAL BATTERY SAFETY WARNINGS
To reduce the risk of re, personal injury, and product damage
due to a short circuit, never immerse the product, battery pack,
or charger in uid or allow uid to ow inside them. Corrosive or
conductive uids, such as seawater, certain industrial chemicals,
and bleach or bleach-containing products, etc., can cause a
short circuit.
TRANSPORTING LITHIUM BATTERIES
Transport the battery in accordance with local and national
provisions and regulations.
Follow all special requirements on packaging and labelling
when transporting batteries by a third party. Ensure that no
batteries can come in contact with other batteries or conductive
materials while in transport by protecting exposed connectors
with insulating, non-conductive caps or tape. Do not transport
batteries that are cracked or leaking. Check with the forwarding
company for further advice.
OPERATION
KICKSTAND
The kickstand prevents the blades from contacting the workbench
when not in use.
To engage the kickstand:
1. Remove the battery pack.
2. Rotate the product onto one side with the bottom exposed.
3. Push in and slide the kickstand so that it is released from
the base.
4. Rotate the product upright to rest on the kickstand when not
in use.
To retract the kickstand:
1. Rotate the product onto one side with the bottom exposed.
2. Push in and slide the kickstand so that it is retracted and
flush with the base.
3. Rotate the product upright to rest on the kickstand when not
in use.
MAINTENANCE
■The product should never be connected to a power supply when
assembling parts, making adjustments, cleaning, performing
maintenance, or when the product is not in use. Disconnecting
the product from the power supply will prevent accidental
starting that could cause serious injury.
■When servicing, use only original manufacturer’s replacement
parts, accessories, and attachments. Use of any other parts
may create a hazard or cause product damage.
■Avoid using solvents when cleaning plastic parts. Most plastics
are susceptible to various types of commercial solvents and
may be damaged by their use. Use clean cloths to remove dirt,
carbon dust, etc.
■Do not, at any time, let brake fluids, gasoline, petroleum-based
products, penetrating oils, etc., come in contact with plastic
parts. Chemicals can damage, weaken, or destroy plastic,
which may result in serious personal injury.
■For greater safety and reliability, all repairs should be performed
by an authorised service centre.
CLEANING THE DUST PORT
If the product becomes clogged with dust or chips, clear the
obstruction using a non-metallic stick. Do not put your ngers
into the dust port.
To restore proper airow and prevent future clogs, remove all
debris from the product using an air compressor or a vacuum
cleaner.
DISPOSAL
Do not dispose of waste batteries, waste electrical and
electronic equipment as unsorted municipal waste.
Waste batteries and waste electrical and electronic
equipment must be collected separately. Waste
batteries, waste accumulators, and light sources have to be
removed from the equipment. Check with your local authority or
retailer for recycling advice and collection point. According to
local regulations, retailers may have an obligation to take back
waste batteries and waste electrical and electronic equipment
free of charge. Your contribution to the reuse and recycling of
waste batteries and waste electrical and electronic equipment
helps to reduce the demand of raw materials. Waste batteries, in
particular containing lithium, and waste electrical and electronic
equipment contain valuable and recyclable materials, which can
adversely impact the environment and the human health if not
disposed of in an environmentally compatible manner. Delete
personal data from waste equipment, if any.
