They do not contain any components that can be re-
paired or replaced by the user. Repairs can only be
carried out in the factory!

fectuées exclusivement en usine !
2. Beschreibung Description Description
Zeigerthermometer mit starrem Schaft oder Fernlei-
tungen sind entweder mit organischer Flüssigkeit
oder Gas gefüllt und arbeiten nach dem Prinzip der
Flüssigkeitsausdehnung bzw. der Druckänderung
oder mit Bimetall-Messfeder ausgeführt. Die hierbei
auftretende Bewegung wird ohne Übersetzungsge-
triebe in eine Drehbewegung des Istwertzeigers
umgewandelt. Durch die Drehung der Zeigerwelle
wird über ein Abgriffsystem der Mikroschalter betä-
tigt (nur bei Zeigerthermometer mit Kontakteinrich-
tung).
Bei Beachtung nachfolgender Hinweise ist eine
störungsfreie Funktion gewährleistet.
Dial thermometers with rigid stem or capillary are
filled with an organic liquid or gas, and operate on the
principle of liquid expansion or pressure change, or
incorporate a bimetal spring. The resulting movement
is converted into a rotation of the pointer, without any
gearing. The movement of the pointer spindle ope-
rates the microswitch through a lever system (only for
dial thermometers with contact devices).
Provided you observe the instructions below, you can
be sure of problem-free operation.
Les thermomètres à cadran avec tige rigide ou capil-
laire sont remplis soit de liquide organique, soit de
gaz ; leur fonctionnement repose soit sur la dilatation
de liquide, soit sur la variation de pression ou bien sur
un ressort de mesure bimétallique. Le mouvement
qui en résulte est converti, sans réducteur, en une ro-
tation de l’aiguille indicatrice. La rotation de l'aiguille
commande le microrupteur par l’intermédiaire d’un
système de transmission (uniquement sur le thermo-
mètre à cadran avec dispositif à contact).
Respectez les instructions suivantes pour garantir un
fonctionnement sans défaut.

3. Elektrischer Anschluss Electrical connection Raccordement électrique
Vorsicht
Der elektrische Anschluss darf nur von Fachpersonal
vorgenommen werden.
Danger
The electrical connection must only be carried out by
qualified personnel.
Prudence
Seul du personnel spécialisé peut effectuer le raccor-
dement électrique.
Die entsprechenden VDE- bzw. Landesvorschriften
sind zu beachten. Zulässige Schaltleistung siehe
Typenschild.
Der Anschluss der Kontak
teinrichtung ist nach dem
beigefügtem Schaltplan bzw. Anschlussbild durch-
zuführen. Der Anschluss ist von der Geräteausfüh-
rung abhängig:
• durch Schraubklemmen an der Anschlussleitung
• durch fest montierte Klemmleiste
• in den Anschlusskasten
The appropriate VDE or local regulations must be ob-
served. See nameplate for the permissible contact
rating.
The contact device must be connected up in accor-
dance with the connection diagram supplied, or the
connection label. Depending on the instrument type,
the connections are made:
• by screw terminals on the connecting cable
• by an attached terminal board
• in the terminal box
Il faut respecter la réglementation en vigueur. Pouvoir
de coupure admissible : voir plage signalétique.
Il faut raccorder le dispositif de contact conformé-
ment au plan de montage ou schéma de raccorde-
ment joint. Le raccordement dépend de l’exécution
de l’appareil :
• par bornes à vis sur câble de raccordement
• par bornier monté à demeure
• dans les boîtes de jonction
Vorsicht
Bei gefährlichen Messstoffen, wie z.B. Sauerstoff,
Acytylen, brennbaren und giftigen Stoffen, sowie bei
Kälteanlagen, Druckbehältern usw. sind die betref-
fenden einschlägigen Vorschriften und Bestimmun-
gen zu beachten.
Danger
With dangerous measurement media, such as oxy-
gen, acetylene, inflammable and toxic substances, as
well as in refrigeration equipment, pressure vessels
etc., the relevant instructions and regulations must be
observed.
Prudence
En cas de matières dangereuses (comme par
exemple oxygène, acétylène, matières inflammables
et toxiques) ainsi que dans des installations frigori-
fiques, des réservoirs sous pression etc., il faut res-
pecter les règlements et dispositions en vigueur.
Zubehör
Erforderliche Zubehörteile sind dem Gerät in einem
Beutel beigefügt. Die Verpackung ist daher genau zu
kontrollieren.
Accessories
The necessary accessories are inside a bag, which is
enclosed with the thermometer. Please check the
package carefully!

Les accessoires nécessaires sont joints à l’appareil
dans un sachet. C’est pourquoi il faut vérifier soi-
gneusement l’emballage.
4. Montage Installation Montage
Achtung
• Zeigerthermometer sollen nicht unmittelbar aggre-
siven Medien ausgesetzt werden. Beim Einbau
Schutzart berücksichtigen.
• Starke Erschütterungen, die auf das Thermometer
einwirken, beeinträchtigen Funktion und Lebens-
dauer des Gerätes. Das Gerät möglichst erschüt-
terungsfrei montieren.
Caution
• Do not expose the dial thermometer directly to
corrosive media. Take the protection rating into
account when installing.
• If the thermometer is subjected to shock and
vibration, this will impair the function and life of
the instrument. The installation location should
therefore be largely free from vibration.
Attention
• Il ne faut pas exposer directement les thermo-
mètres à cadran à des milieux agressifs. Tenir
compte de l’indice de protection pour le montage
• De fortes vibrations peuvent affecter le fonction-
nement et la durée de vie du thermomètre. Dans
la mesure du possible, il faut monter l’appareil à
l’abri des vibrations.
Umgebungstemperaturen
• Zeigerthermometer mit Bimetall-Messfeder haben
keinen Umgebungstemperatureinfluss.
• Zeigerthermometer mit organischer bzw. Gasfül-
lung haben die größte Messgenauigkeit bei einer
Umgebungstemperatur von +23°C an Gehäuse
und Fernleitung. Abweichende Umgebungstem-
peraturen führen zu Anzeigefehlern. Der jeweilige
Einfluss auf Gehäuse bzw. Fernleitung und die
zulässige Umgebungstemperatur, bzw. die
Grenzwerttemperatur für Lagerung und Transport
sind dem entsprechendem Typenblatt zu
entnehmen.
• Schnell wechselnde Umgebungstemperaturen
können, beim Einsatz im Freien, zur Betauung der
Frontscheibe führen. Die Funktion des Gerätes
wird hierdurch nicht beeinträchtigt.
Ambient temperatures
• Dial thermometers with a bimetal spring have no
ambient temperature error.
• Dial thermometers with organic or gas filling have
the highest measuring accuracy at an ambient
temperature of +23°C at the case and capillary.
Other ambient temperatures will lead to indication
errors. The corresponding influence on the hou-
sing or capillary and the permissible ambient tem-
perature, or the temperature limit for storage and
transport can be taken from the appropriate data
sheet.
• When used outdoors, rapidly changing ambient
temperatures can lead to condensation on the
front window. However, this does not impair the
functioning of the thermometer.
Températures ambiantes
• Les thermomètres à cadran avec ressort de
mesure bimétallique ne sont pas soumis à
l’influence de la température ambiante.
• Les thermomètres à cadran remplis de liquide
organique ou de gaz présentent la meilleure préci-
sion de mesure à la température ambiante
de +23 °C sur le boîtier et le capillaire. Des tempé-
ratures ambiantes différentes provoquent des
erreurs d’indication. La fiche technique précise
l’influence de la température ambiante sur le boî-
tier et le capillaire ainsi que les températures
ambiantes admissibles pour le stockage et le
transport.
• Si la température ambiante change rapidement,
cela peut provoquer de la condensation sur le
transparent, en cas d’utilisation en plein air. Cela
ne gêne pas le fonctionnement de l’appareil.

Verlegen der Fernleitung
• Die Fernleitung soll nicht dicht an Kälte- oder
Wärmequellen vorbeigeführt werden.
• Die Fernleitung ist vor möglicher Beschädigung zu
schützen.
• Knicken oder Unterbrechen der Fernleitung führt
zum Ausfall des Gerätes.

• The capillary should not be run close to sources of
cold or heat.
• Protect the capillary from possible damage.
• Kinks or breaks in the capillary will disable the ins-
trument.

ausgesetzt, soll die Fernleitung zwischen dem
letzten Befestigungspunkt und dem Fühler in
mehreren Schlaufen freischwingend verlegt wer-
den.
• If the probe is subject ed to shock and vibration,
the capillary should be arranged in several loops
between the last fixing point and the probe, so
that it can swing freely.
• Si la sonde est soumise à des vibrations ou des
chocs, il faut que le capillaire fasse plusieurs
boucles entre le dernier point de fixation et la
sonde, afin d’osciller librement.
Fühlereinbau *( 1 ) = SW
Der Temperaturfühler muss so eingebaut werden,
dass sein „aktives Teil“ (mit Länge „L“ gekennzeich-
net) vollkommen in das zu messende Medium ein-
taucht, sonst tritt ein Messfehler auf. Bei der Wahl
des Temperatur-Einbauortes ist die Temperaturvertei-
lung in dem zu messendem Medium zu berücksichti-
gen. Bei Verwendung von Schutzhülsen kann durch
Einfüllen eines Wärmekontaktmittels der Wärme-
übergangs-Widerstand zwischen Fühleraußenwand
und Schutzrohr-Innenwand reduziert werden.
Probe installation *( 1 ) = hex
The thermometer probe must be so installed that its
active portion (marked length L) is completely im-
mersed in the medium to be measured, otherwise a
measurement error will occur. When deciding on the
thermometer probe location, the temperature distri-
bution in the medium has to be taken into account.
When using protective pockets, the heat transfer re-
sistance between the outside of the probe and the in-
ner wall of the protection tube can be reduced by
filling it with a thermal contact medium.
Montage de la sonde *( 1 ) = OC
Il faut monter la sonde de température de telle sorte
que sa “partie active” (désignée par la longueur “L”)
soit complètement immergée dans le milieu de me-
sure, sinon il y a un risque d’erreur de mesure. Lors
du choix du lieu de montage de la sonde de tempé-
rature, il faut tenir compte du champ de température
du milieu de mesure. En cas d’utilisation de doigts de
gant, le remplissage avec un milieu thermosensible
peut réduire la résistance de transfert de chaleur
entre la paroi externe de la sonde et la paroi interne
du doigt de gant.
5. Bedienung Operation Commande
Anzeigekorrektur
Von der Kalibriertemperatur (+23°C) abweichende
Umgebungstemperaturen an Gehäuse und Fernlei-
tung führen bei konstanten Umgebungstemperaturen
zu bleibenden, bei veränderlichen Umgebungstem-
peraturen zu wechselnden Anzeigefehlern, siehe
Montageort/Umgebungstemperaturen.
Zeigerthermometer mit Anzeigekorrektur können bei
konstanten Umgebungstemperaturen verstellt wer-
den. Die Einstellung erfolgt rückseitig mit einem
Schraubendreher.
Indication adjustment
If the ambient temperature at the case and capillary
differs from the calibration temperature (+23°C), there
is a permanent error at a constant ambient tempera-
ture, or a variable error under changing ambient tem-
peratures, see installation location/ambient
temperatures.
Dial thermometers with indication correction can be
adjusted at constant ambient temperatures. The ad-
justment is made at the back using a screwdriver.
Correction de l’indication
Les températures ambiantes différentes de la tempé-
rature de calibrage (23 °C) sur le boîtier et le capillaire
entraînent des erreurs d’indication permanentes si la
température ambiante est constante, des erreurs
changeantes si la température ambiante varie.
Voir lieu de montage/températures ambiantes.
Il est possible d’ajuster les thermomètres à cadran
avec correction d’indication si la température am-
biante est constante. Le réglage est effectué à
l’arrière avec un tournevis.
