Thank you for purchasing a Mellerware product. Mellerware guarantees

that your product has been thoroughly inspected and tested before being

dispatched and is free from mechanical or electrical defects and complies

with the applicable safety standards. With every Mellerware product

purchased you will receive up to a 3 year warranty as detailed in the terms

and conditions below.

FIRST YEAR – 1 YEAR RETAIL WARRANTY

Should defects due to faulty parts or workmanship develop, under normal

domestic use, within 12 months from the original date of purchase please

return the product to the store from where it was purchased for a refund

or replacement at the discretion of the brand. Mellerware appliances are

intended for domestic use only and not for industrial or professional use.

The Warranty, if the product is used outside of domestic use or used in a

commercial environment, is reduced to 3 months with no extended war-

ranty available, all other terms and conditions applicable.

SECOND YEAR – OPTIONAL 1 YEAR ADDITIONAL EXTENDED

ONLINE WARRANTY REGISTRATION

Mellerware takes pride in its product quality and therefore offer an

extended 12 month warranty over and above the 1 Year Retail Warranty.

Should defects due to faulty material or workmanship develop, under normal

domestic use, after the initial 12 month period and within 24 months from

the original date of purchase, please return the product to Mellerware for

repair. Mellerware will assess and repair the product free of charge should

it be found to be a valid warranty claim and will return it to you directly.

Mellerware will replace a product with a similar product in the same or

better condition, if the repair cannot be conducted for whatever reason.

Should the product fall outside of the warranty, Mellerware will produce a

repair and delivery quotation for your approval.

THIRD YEAR – OPTIONAL 1 YEAR ADDITIONAL EXTENDED

COMMUNICATION OPT IN WARRANTY

Mellerware takes pride in its product quality and therefore offer an addi-

tional 12 month warranty over and above the 1 Year Retail and 1 year

online registration warranty. Should defects due to faulty material or

workmanship develop, under normal domestic use, after the initial 12 month

period, the extended online registration 12 month period and within 36

months from the original date of purchase, please return the product to

Mellerware for repair. Mellerware will assess and repair the product free of

charge should it be found to be a valid warranty claim and will return it to

you directly. Mellerware will replace a product with a similar product in the

same or better condition, if the repair cannot be conducted for whatever

reason. Should the product fall outside of the warranty, Mellerware will

produce a repair and delivery quotation for your approval.

opt-in email communication. Should you wish to qualify for the additional

third year extended warranty, you would need to have registered your

warranty within the rst 12 months from date of purchase and subscribed

to receive brand communication. The extended warranty is conditional

upon these requirements. Please note that you are however free to opt

out at any stage in accordance with the POPI act, this will however result

in you forfeiting this additional extended “communication opt in” warranty

from the recorded opt-out date.

Before returning your product, check the following:

•Your household mains supply socket is in good condition, working and

switched on.

• The mains supply circuit is not overloaded (white trip switch on your

DB board is off).

•You have read the trouble shooting guide in your Instructions for Use.

•All accessories and parts are present.

The following conditions apply:

1. Please ensure you retain your original receipt as this must be

presented when making a claim under the terms of the warranty.

It is impossible to determine the warranty period without proof of

purchase, so please keep this in a safe place. (NB. Your original receipt

can be scanned onto the Mellerware website [www.mellerware.co.za]

or Creative Housewares (Pty) Ltd [www.creativehousewares.co.za]

for safe storage.)

2. If a refund or exchange is required the product must be complete

with all accessories, parts and packaging. Missing parts will render the

warranty void. Any refund or exchange remains at the brands discre-

tion beyond the implied warranty granted by the CPA.

3. Upon receipt of your appliance, check it for any transport damage to

ensure it is safe for use. Return it to the store as soon as possible for

exchange if damaged. The warranty is void if products are damaged

after use, so please do not use a damaged product.

4. Any alteration made to the appliance purchased will void the warranty.

5. Your product is designed for normal domestic household use. Failure

to read and comply with the instructions for use, cleaning and

maintenance will render your warranty void, so please read these

instructions carefully to ensure your safety, and to get the most effec-

tive use from the product (e.g. not removing limescale; water deposits;

insect infestation, and/or burnt products).

6. Any abuse, negligent, improper or accidental use or care will render

the warranty void and Creative Housewares (Pty) Ltd will not be

liable for any loss or damage.

7. Any attempted repair, or replacement of unauthorised parts will ren-

der the warranty void, so please contact an authorised service centre

or service agent for any service or repair requirements.

8. NB: The warranty on replaced products will be from the original date

of purchase and not from when the date replacement was made.

9. All repairs carry a 3 month warranty even if this falls outside of the

warranty period.

10. Mellerware will attempt to conduct repairs within reasonable time,

this in line with industry standards but cannot be held responsible or

liable for any circumstances not under the brand’s control.

11. This warranty does not apply to glass components, lters, consum-

ables, and other parts subject to fair wear and tear.

Repairs out of the warranty period:

If service or repair becomes necessary outside the warranty period, this

service is still available however all transport/postage, spares and labour

costs will be for the customers’ account. All chargeable repairs will require

the customers’ written acceptance of the quote. Once the go-ahead has

been received Mellerware will undertake to conduct the repair within a

reasonable time and maintain the condition of the product as received. All

repairs carry a warranty of 3 months from the date of the repair.

4. Diens:

11.1. Maak seker dat slegs toepaslik gekwalifiseerde

tegnikus, en dat slegs oorspronklike onderdele diens

die toestel of bykomstighede gebruik word om

bestaande onderdele/bykomstighede te vervang.

11.2. Indien die kragkoord beskadig is, moet die

vervaardiger of sy diensagent of ‘n soortgelyke

gekwalifiseerde persoon dit vervang om ‘n gevaar te

vermy.

11.3. Enige misbruik of versuim om die gebruiks

instruksies te volg maak die waarborg en vervaardiger

se aanspreeklikheid nietig.

5. Hoe om te gebruik:

5.1. Glaseer albei verwarmings plate liggies met ‘n

klein hoeveelheid groente-olie of ‘n kleefwerende

sproei, en maak die omhulsel toe sodat die toebroodjie-

maker kan verhit.

5.2. Die krag liggie sal verlig wanneer die prop aan die

hoofsok gekoppel is; dit sal aan bly tydens voorverhit-

ting, die gereed-lig sal aanskakel wanneer die toestel

voorverhit is.

WAARSKUWING: Voorverhit altyd voor gebruik.

5.3. Begin verhit. Na ongeveer 3 minute sal die rooi lig

afskakel, wat aandui dat die toebroodjiemaker gereed

is vir gebruik.

5.4. Berei toebroodjies voor deur brood aan die buite-

kant te smeer en die gewenste bestanddele binne te

plaas. Lig die veiligheidspal op en maak die toebrood-

jiemaker oop. Plaas op die verwarmingsplate.

WAARSKUWING: Kookoppervlak is warm, hanteer

versigtig.

5.5. Maak die omhulsel toe om te verseker dat

die toebroodjie eweredig geplaas word. Sluit die

veiligheidspal. Normale kooktye sal 3-6 minute vir elke

toebroodjie wees. Die rooi lig sal aan en af skakel,

aangesien die termostaat die toebroodjiemaker by die

regte bak temperatuur hou.

WAARSKUWING: Die toestel mag nie in die oop

posisie gebruik word nie.

5.6. Verwyder die toebroodjies van die verhittings plate

met ’n plastiek- of houtspatel. Wees versigtig met jou

toebroodjies, die vulsels sal nogal warm wees. Laat

afkoel vir ‘n paar minute voor dit geniet word.

5.7. Ontkoppel van die krag nadat jy gekook het, en

laat die toebroodjiemaker afkoel.

6. Onderhoud:

6.1. Hierdie toestel verg min onderhoud. Dit bevat geen

onderdele wat deur die gebruiker gediens kan word nie.

Moenie probeer om dit self te herstel nie. Verwys dit na

gekwalifiseerde personeel indien diens nodig is.

7. Skoonmaak:

7.1. Ontkoppel altyd hierdie toebroodjiemaker van die

kragbron en wag totdat dit afgekoel het voordat dit

skoongemaak word.

7.2. Dit is nie nodig om jou toebroodjiemaker uitmekaar

te haal vir skoonmaak nie, droog met ‘n papierhand-

doek om oortollige olie te absorbeer. Borsel krummels

uit groewe en vee af met ‘n klam lap en seep.

7.3. Moet nooit in water dompel nie. Vermy die gebruik

van krap of skerp gereedskap, aangesien dit die kleefw-

erende oppervlak sal krap.

7.4. Moenie skoonmaak middels of oond skoonmakers

op die verwarmings plate gebruik nie.

7.5. Om handvatsels en ander dele skoon te maak,

gebruik ‘n klam lap met sagte seep.

7.6. Indien enige vulsel moeilik verwyder kan word,

gooi ‘n bietjie kookolie op die borde en vee af na 5

minute, wanneer die vulsel sag geword het.

TOEBROODJIE RESEPTE

ONTBYT

Ontbyttoebroodjie (maak 2 toebroodjies)

1. 2 eiers

2. 175ml gerasperde kaas (kaas van jou keuse)

3. 65ml gaar vleis of groente

4. 4 snye brood van jou keuse (botter of margarien)

Plaas twee snye brood, met botterkant na onder, op

verhittingsborde. Plaas kaas in die middel van elke sny.

Gooi die geklitste eier liggies oor die kaas en gaar vleis

(salami, spek ens.) of groente (ui, groenrissie, tamatie).

Top met die oorblywende snye brood, gesmeerde

kant na bo. Maak die grendel deksel toe en kook vir

2 minute.

MIDDAGETE OF HAPPIES

Basiese geroosterde kaas toebroodjie (maak 1

toebroodjie)

1. 2 Snye brood, enige soort.

2. 65ml gerasperde kaas of kaas twee snye

3. Plaas een sny brood aan die een kant van die

verhittings plaat. Voeg kaas by, bo-op met die ander

sny. Maak die deksel toe en sluit die grendel. Kook vir

twee minute.

3. Use and Care:

3.1. Fully unroll the appliance’s power cable before

3.5. Do not cover the surface or food with aluminium

foil and other similar materials.

4. Service:

4.1. Make sure that only suitably qualified technician,

and that only original spare parts service the appliance

or accessories are used to replace existing parts/

accessories.

4.2. If the power cord is damaged, the manufacturer

or its service agent or a similarly qualified person must

replace it in order to avoid a hazard.

4.3. Any misuse or failure to follow the instructions for

use renders the warranty and manufacturer’s liability

null and void.

5. Operation:

5.1. Lightly glaze both heating plates with a small

amount of vegetable oil or a non-stick spray, and close

the casing for the sandwich maker to heat up.

5.2. The power light will illuminate when the plug is

connected to the main socket; it will stay on during

preheating, the ready light will turn on when the appli-

ance has preheated.

CAUTION: Always preheat before use.

5.3. Begin heating. After about 3 minutes, the red light

will turn off, indicating that the sandwich maker is ready

for use.

5.4. Prepare sandwiches by buttering bread on the

outer surface and placing desired ingredients within. Lift

handle clip and open the sandwich maker. Place on the

heating plates.

CAUTION: Cooking surface is hot, handle with care.

5.5. Close the casing to ensure that the sandwich is

placed evenly. Lock the safety latch. Normal cooking

times will be 3-6 minutes for each sandwich. The red

light will turn on and off, as the thermostat keeps the

sandwich maker at the proper baking temperature.

CAUTION: The appliance is not to be operated in the

open position.

5.6. Remove the sandwiches from the heating plates

with a plastic or wooden spatula. Be careful with your

sandwiches, the fillings will be quite hot. Allow to cool

for a few minutes before enjoying.

5.7. Unplug the power cord after cooking, and allow the

sandwich maker to cool down.

6. Maintenance:

6.1. This appliance requires little maintenance. It

contains no user serviceable parts. Do not try to repair

it yourself. Refer it to qualified personnel if servicing is

needed.

7. Cleaning:

7.1. Always unplug this sandwich maker from the power

source and wait until it cools down before cleaning.

7.2. There is no need to take your sandwich maker apart

for cleaning, dry with a paper towel to absorb excess

oil. Brush crumbs from grooves, and wipe with a damp

cloth and mild soap.

7.3. Never immerse in water. Avoid using scratching

or sharp utensils, as they will scratch the non-stick

surface.

7.4. Do not use cleansers or oven cleaners on the

heating plates.

7.5. To clean handles and other parts, use a damp cloth

with mild soap.

7.6. Should any filling be difficult to remove, pour a little

cooking oil onto the plates and wipe off after 5 minutes,

when the filling has softened.

CAUTION: DO NOT IMMERSE IN WATER.

BREAKFAST

Breakfast Sandwich (Makes 2 sandwiches)

1. 2 fried eggs.

2. 175ml grated cheese (cheese of your choice).

3. 65ml cooked meat or vegetables.

4. 4 slices of bread of your choice (butter or marga-

rine).

Place two slices of bread, buttered side down, onto

heating plates. Place cheese in the centre of each slice.

Gently place 2 eggs over the cheese and cooked meat

(salami, bacon etc) or vegetables (onion, green pepper,

tomato). Top with the remaining bread slices, buttered

side up. Close the safety latch cover and cook for 2

minutes.

LUNCH OR SNACKS

Basic Grilled Cheese Sandwich (Makes 1 Sandwich)

1. 2 Slices bread, any kind.

2. 65ml grated cheese or cheese two slices.

3. Place one slice of bread onto one side of the heating

plate. Add cheese, top with the other slice. Close the

cover and lock the latch. Cook for two minutes.

2.1. As die krag koord beskadig is, moet dit deur die

vervaardiger, sy diensagent of soortgelyke gekwalifi-

seerde persone vervang word om ‘n gevaar te vermy.

2.2. Persone (insluitend kinders) met verminderde

fisiese, sensoriese of geestelike vermoëns of ‘n gebrek

aan ervaring en kennis beoog nie hierdie toestel vir

gebruik nie, tensy ‘n persoon verantwoordelik vir hul

veiligheid hulle toesig gegee het of instruksies oor die

gebruik van die toestel gegee het.

2.3. Kinders moet onder toesig wees om te verseker dat

hulle nie met die toestel speel nie.

2.4. Die toestel is nie bedoel om deur middel van ‘n

eksterne tydhouer of aparte afstand beheerstelsel

gebruik te word nie.

2.5. Die temperatuur van toeganklike oppervlaktes kan

hoog wees wanneer die toestel in werking is.
