When using your flatiron, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the
following:
READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING
1. Use iron only for its intended use. To protect against a risk of electric shock, do not2.
immerse the iron in water or other liquids. The iron should always be turned to off before3.
plugging or unplugging from outlet. Never yank cord to disconnect from outlet; instead, grasp
plug and pull to disconnect. Do not allow cord to touch hot surfaces. Let iron cool completely4.
before putting away. Loop cord loosely around iron when storing. Always disconnect iron5.
from electrical outlet when filling with water or emptying and when not in use. Do not 6.
operate iron with a damaged cord or if the iron has been dropped or damaged. To avoid the risk
of electric shock, do not disassemble the iron, take it to a qualified service person for
examination and repair. Incorrect reassembly can cause a risk of electric shock when the iron

THE IRON, ALLOW IT TO COOL FOR AT LEAST 2 HOURS BEFORE UNSCREWING THE FILLING
CAP FOR RINSING. SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS
1. To avoid a circuit overload, do not operate another high wattage appliance on the same
circuit. 2. If an extension cord is absolutely necessary, a 10-ampere cord should be used. Cords
rated for less amperage may overheat. Care should be taken to arrange the cord so that it
cannot be pulled or tripped over.

TM STEAMAX. Properly used and
maintained, this system will give you years of dependable service.
However, it is important that you read this manual completely
before using your LauraStar TM STEAMAX system. This garment
care system is for home use only.
This system uses steam and heat, so many parts of the system can
cause burns when in use. These hot parts will be labeled in this
manual with the following symbol:

Ensure that your ironing board is set up correctly. The iron should be secured to the ironing board using
the supplied rubber strap safety device. To use the safety device, place the iron on the ironing board and:
Proceed as follows
1. Place the support clip for the
iron on the ironing board.
2. Secure the clip to the board
and tighten the rubber strap that
holds the appliance.
3. Secure the strap to the clip
provided on the front of the appli-
ance.
3. Place the appliance on the iron-
ing board.
6. Adjust the steam control button
for a right-handed user (button set
to the left) or a left-handed user
(button set to the right).
5. Secure the electrical cable
guide and monotube.
4. Secure the appliance to the
ironing board using the rubber
safety strap
2. Fill the steam generator as
described on page 3. For refilling
while ironing, see on page 6.
1. Remove the plug from the wall
socket.
ALWAYS Set up Ironing Board Correctly on a Flat Surface and Use Supplied
Iron Hold.

Please read the following pages carefully and make all new users of the iron aware of the
contents.

1. Use ONLY for Ironing Following These Operating Instructions.
2. The Iron Uses HOT SURFACES. Contact with Hot Surfaces Can
Cause Severe Bruns or Damage to Nearby Objects.
3. The Iron Uses PRESSURIZED STEAM. DO NOT OPEN the Refill Cap
Except as Instructed on Page 3 of This Manual. Contact with the
Pressurized Steam Can Cause Severe Scalding.
4. Keep Out of Reach of CHILDREN During Use and Storage. DO NOT Leave
Iron Unattended During Use.
5. TURN OFF and Then Unplug When Not in Use or When Filling/Emptying
Steam Generator.
6. INSPECT Electrical Cord and Steam Tube Weekly for any Fraying or
Damage; DO NOT USE with Damaged Cord or Steam Tube.
7. DO NOT Attempt to Repair or Service Components.
8.
DO NOT USE Near Water or Other Liquids to Avoid the Possibility of
Electrical Shock.
9. To Unplug, Grip the Plug Firmly and Remove it from the Wall Socket;
DO NOT Pull on Cord.
10. The Main Electrical Cable and Monotube Must Not be Allowed to
Come into Contact with Hot Surfaces.
11. Do Not Pull on the Monotube to Avoid the fall of the iron and Sever
Burns.
12. ALWAYS Place Iron in its Holder When Not in Use.
13. ONLY Use on Ironing Board.
14. ONLY Use in Well Lighted Area.
15. ALWAYS Use in Well Grounded Electrical Outlet.
16. DO NOT Use Steam Generator Without Water.
