Guide
This guide helps you install and use your EXT3-H-POE-T -H- -R/ EXT3 POE for the first time.

Step 2: EXT3-H- -T Get to know your POE
# Feature Function
1 IN LED Lights blue when an active source device input signal is detected.
2 OUT LED Lights blue when an active, far- end sink (acceptor) connection is detected via the
HDBT link.
3 LINK LED Lights green when an HDBT link is established with the HDBaseT receiver.
4 PoE► LED Lights green when the device provides PoE to a connected HDBT receiver.
5 ON LED Lights green when the device receives power.
6 HDBT OUT PoE◄► RJ- 45 Connector Connect to an HDBT receiver (for example, EXT3-H- - POE R). The port can provide or
receive PoE.

HDMI IN Connector Connect to an HDMI source.
8 - RS 232 (G, Rx, Tx) 3- pin Terminal
Block Connector
This port has two functions selectable by the SETUP DIP- switches:
1. To send/receive RS- 232 data over the HDBaseT link.
2. For FW Upgrade.
9 IR 3.5mm Mini Jack Connector
Connect to an external infrared emitter / sensor.
The IR signal is passed over the HDBaseT link.
10 SETUP DIP- Set switches the operation DIP- switches. Refer to DIP-Switch Settings on page 3.
11 48V DC 48V DC connector for powering the unit (when not powered by PoE from the receiver).

Step 3: EXT3-H- -R Get to know your POE
# Feature Function
1 IN LED
Lights blue when an active, far- end source device input signal is detected via the
HDBT link.
2 OUT LED Lights blue when an active sink (acceptor) connection is detected.
3 LINK LED Lights green when an HDBT link is established with the HDBaseT transmitter.

Lights green when the device provides PoE to a connected HDBT transmitter.
5 ON LED Lights green when the device receives power.
6 HDBT IN PoE◄► RJ- 45 Connector Connect to the HDBT receiver (for example, EXT3-H- -T). POE The port can provide or
receiver PoE.
7 HDMI OUT Connector Connect to an HDMI acceptor.

Step 4: -H- - -H- -R Mount EXT3 POE T / EXT3 POE
Install EXT3-H- - -H- -RPOE T / EXT3 POE using one of the following methods:
• Attach the rubber and place the unit on a flat surface.feet
• Fasten a bracket (included) on each side of the unit and attach it to a flat surface (see
www.kramerav.com/downloads/EXT3-H- -T POE / www.kramerav.com/downloads/EXT3-H- -RPOE
).
• Mount the unit in a rack using the recommended rack adapter
(see www.kramerav.com/product/EXT3-H- -TPOE
/
www.kramerav.com/downloads/EXT3-H- -RPOE ).
• Ensure that the environment (e.g., maximum ambient temperature &
air flow) is compatible for the device.
• Avoid uneven mechanical loading.
• Appropriate consideration of equipment nameplate ratings should be
used for avoiding overloading of the circuits.
• Reliable earthing of rack-mounted equipment should be maintained.
• Maximum mounting height for the device is 2 meters.

Step 5: Connect inputs and outputs
Always switch OFF the power on before each device connecting it to EXT3-H- -T / EXT3-H- - your POE POE R. For best results, we
recommend that you always use the Kramer high-performance cables to connect AV equipment to EXT3-H- -T / EXT3-H- - POE POE R.
The range between & Tx Rx is:
40M - 4K@60
70M - 4K@30 & 1080P
Wiring the RJ-45 Connectors
This section defines the pinout, using a HDBT

Step 6: -DIP Switch Settings
The DIP Switches are used to:-
• Configure the IR handling.
• -Enable RS 232 signal extension.
• Upgrade the HDBT (Valens) chipset.
