Assembly Instructions: (Chatham)1048-6 and 1048-9
IMPORTANT:
•ALL INSTALLATION WORK SHOULD BE DONE BY ACCREDITED PROFESSIONAL.
•SHUT OFF POWER SUPPLY AT FUSE OR CIRCUIT BREAKER!
•USE ONLY THE SPECIFIED BULBS. DO NOT EXCEED THE MAXIMUM WATTAGE!
PREPARING FOR INSTALLATION
Remove all of the contents from the carton. See the important notes
above. Shut off the power at the circuit breaker and completely remove
theoldxturefromtheceiling,includingtheoldmountingstrap.
1.Fromthepartsbagremovethemountingstrapassembly.Oneend
ofnipple(F)shouldbeattachedtomountingstrap(A)withwasherand
hexnut(CandD)inplace.Theotherendshouldhavecanopyloop(H)
attached.Attachmountingstrap(A)tothejunctionboxusingmounting
screws(B)andascrewdriver.Tightensecurely.
2. Unscrew canopy loop collar (I) from canopy loop (H). Pass canopy (G)
overthemountedcanopylooptotesttheheight.Approximatelyhalfof
thecanopyloop’sexteriorthreadsshouldbeexposed,andthecanopy
loopcollarshouldtsnuglyontothecanopyloop.Removecanopy(G)
andadjusttheheightofnipple(F)andcanopyloop(H)untilthedesired
heightisreached.
CLEANING TIPS
Treat the xture gently! Regular cleaning will reduce the need for deep cleaning. For regular cleaning, turn off the light and wipe down the
xture with a clean lint-free cotton or microber cloth. Never spray cleaner directly onto the xture.

ASSEMBLING THE FIXTURE
3.Reviewthediagram.Decidewhetheryouwouldlikethesocketsto
faceupordownandpositionthelampbodyaccordingly.Connectropes
(P) to anchors (O).
4.Bymeasuring,determinethecorrectnumberofchainlinksneeded
forproperhangingheight.Ifnecessary,useapairofplierstoopenand
removeanyexcesschain.Attachchainconnectors(K)toeachendof
chain(J)beforeattachingoneendofthechainconnector/chaintothe
top of hook (L). Close the chain connector. Connect the other chain
connector (K) to canopy loop (H).
5.Connecthook(L)toloop(M).Feedthexture’swiresupoverhook(L)
andthenthroughchain(J)(everythreelinksorso).Slidecanopyloop
collar(I)andcanopy(G)ontothechain/wire.
CONNECTING THE WIRES
6.Haveanassistantsupporttheweightofthexturewhilecompleting
thewiring.Cutawayexcesswire.Threadthexture’swiresthrough
canopyloop(H)andnipple(F).Attachthexture’swirestothepower
supplywiresfromthejunctionbox.Connectblacktoblack(orsmooth);
whitetowhite(orribbed);groundtoground(greenorcopper).Twistthe
endsofthewirepairstogether,andthentwistonawireconnector.Make
surealltwistsareinthesamedirection.Ifthereisnogroundwire(green
orcopper)comingfromthejunctionbox,locategroundscrew(E)on
mountingstrap(A)andwrapthexture’sgroundwirearoundthegreen
groundscrew(E).Useascrewdrivertosecuregroundscrew(E)ontothe
mountingbracket.Tuckallwiresneatlyintothejunctionbox.
FINISHING THE INSTALLATION
7.Pushcanopy(G)uptotheceilingandslidecanopyloopcollar(I)up
beneaththecanopy.Tightlythreadcanopyloopcollar(I)ontocanopy
loop (H) to secure canopy (G) in place.
8.
Installlightbulbs(notprovided)inaccordancewiththexture’s
specications.Donotexceedthemaximumrecommendedwattage.
Yourinstallationisnowcomplete.Turnonthepowerandtestthexture.
