SYNCHRONIZING THE TIME

The watch is a radio device and

may not pick up a strong enough

signal to synchronize in certain

circumstances. If the watch fails to

synchronize on the ﬁrst attempt, it

continues to attempt

synchronization every hour for the

ﬁrst day. If it fails to synchronize

during the ﬁrst day, it attempts to

synchronize every hour from 2:00

a.m. to 5:00 a.m. during the next

two days. In most cases, the watch

synchronizes overnight as the radio

signal is the strongest in the early

morning. You can leave the watch

to synchronize at a later time or you

can set the watch manually. As

noted below, a manually set watch

still attempts to synchronize itself

automatically every hour on the ﬁrst

day. If it fails to synchronize during

the ﬁrst day, it attempts to

synchronize every hour from 2:00

a.m. to 5:00 a.m. during the next

two days.

The radio receiver in the watch

picks up the transmitted signal and

it is decoded with split-second

precision to synchronize with the

correct time. At the same time, the

radio signal automatically sets the

date — and for countries that have

Daylight Saving Time, it adjusts

automatically.

WHAT IS RADIO CONTROLLED?

Radio-controlled watches are the

most precise timekeeping devices in

the world. They keep time to the

accuracy of more than one second

in one million years. Until recently,

radio controlled watches were only

found in laboratories and special

institutions and were very large and

expensive. When various

governments began to broadcast

radio controlled, electronically

encoded signals with their own

national time, the accuracy of the

radio controlled watch became

available to the general public.

Recent technology enabled this

process to be miniaturized and to

be offered at a reasonable cost.

The Global Radio Controlled World

Time Watch takes it one step

further. Until the development of this

type watch, radio controlled

watches were able to receive and

decode signals from only one

transmitter.

Watches made to receive signals in

Europe did not work in the USA or

vice-versa. A different watch was

needed for each time signal. This

global radio controlled watch

changes it all. It is able to receive

signals transmitted by the various

government locations identiﬁed in

Figure 1.

UMSCHALTEN DER ZEIT UND DES

Drücken Sie einmal den -Knopf EINSTELL

und die Anzeige schaltet zwischen Zeit

und Kalender um. Um diese Funktion zu

deaktivieren, drücken Sie den

EINSTELL-Knopf nochmals und es wir nur

die Zeit angezeigt.

Halten Sie den

ALARM-EINSTELL-Knopf gedrückt bis

ON (EIN)/OFF (AUS) blinkt. Drücken Sie

den -Knopf, um den Alarm EINSTELL

EIN AUS oder zu schalten.

SYNCHRONIZIERUNG DER ZEIT

Die Uhr ist ein Funkgerät und unter

bestimmten Umständen kann es sein,

dass die Uhr kein Signal empfängt.

Sollte die Uhr beim ersten Versuch

kein Signal empfangen, wird am

ersten Tag stündlich ein

Synchronisationsversuch

durchgeführt. Wenn die

Synchronisation weiterhin fehlschlägt,

versucht die Uhr in den nächsten zwei

Tagen zu jeder Stunde zwischen 2Uhr

und 5Uhr ein Signal zu empfangen. In

den meisten Fällen synchronisiert die

Uhr nachts, da das Funksignal früh

morgens am stärksten ist. Sie können

die Uhr entweder zu einem späteren

Zeitpunkt synchronisieren lassen oder

die Zeit manuell einstellen. Wie unten

beschrieben, wird die Uhr am ersten

Tag, trotz manueller Einstellung, weiter

versuchen, stündlich ein Signal zu

empfangen. Sollte dies am ersten Tag

fehlschlagen, versucht die Uhr

stündlich zwischen 2Uhr und 5Uhr

während der nächsten zwei Tage die

Zeit zu synchronisieren.

WAS BEDEUTET ‘FUNKGESTEUERT’?

Funkgesteuerte Uhren sind die

präzisesten Zeitmesser der Welt. Sie

zeigen die Zeit mit einer Abweichung

von weniger als einer Sekunde in einer

Million Jahren an. Bis vor kurzem fand

man funkgesteuerte Uhren nur im Labor

und in speziellen Institutionen, und sie

waren groß und teuer. Als Regierungen

damit begannen, ihre eigenen nationalen

Zeitsignale in funkgesteuerten und

elektronisch-verschlüsselten Signalen zu

senden, wurde die Genauigkeit von

funkgesteuerten Uhren für jedermann

erhältlich. Neueste Technik machte es

auch möglich, dieses Verfahren stark zu

verkleinern und zu einem angemess-

enen Preis erhältlich zu machen.

Die weltweit funktionierende

funkgesteuerte Weltzeituhr geht noch

einen Schritt weiter. Bis zu dieser

Entwicklung wa en Funkuhr ren nur in der

Lage, ein einziges Signal von einem

einzigen Transmitter zu empfangen und

zu entschlüsseln.

Uhren, die für das europäische Signal

gebaut wurden, funktionierten nicht in

den USA und umgekehrt. Man brauchte

eine andere Uhr für jedes einzelne

Zeitsignal. Diese funkgesteuerte

Weltzeituhr verändert das nun. Die Uhr

ist in der Lage, Signale, die aus Fort

Collins in Colorado gesendet werden,

von mehreren Regierungsstandorten zu

empfangen. Diese Signale decken alle

vier Zeitzonen der USA ab.

SYNCHRONISATION DE L'HEURE

Cette montre est un dispositif radio.

Dans certaines circonstances, elle

peut ne pas recevoir un signal

sufﬁsant pour la synchronisation.

Lorsque la montre ne parvient pas à

se synchroniser, elle répète les

tentatives de synchronisation chaque

heure pour le journée. En cas d’échec,

elle répète les tentatives de

synchronisation toutes les heures de 2

h à 5 h du matin au cours des deux

journées suivantes. Dans la plupart

des cas, la montre se synchronise au

cours de la nuit, car c’est au petit

matin que le signal radio est le plus

fort. Vous pouvez laisser la montre se

synchroniser plus tard ou la régler

manuellement. Comme indiqué

ci-dessous, en cas de réglage manuel,

la montre essaie toujours de se

synchroniser automatiquement toutes

les heures au cours de la première

journée. En cas d’échec au cours de la

première journée, elle répète les

tentatives de synchronisation chaque

heure de 2 h à 5 h du matin au cours

des deux journées suivantes.

QU’EST-CE QUE LE RADIO-PILOTAGE ?

Les montres radio-pilotées sont celles qui

indiquent l’heure avec la plus grande

précision. Leur précision est d'une

seconde par million d'années. Jusqu’il y a

peu, les montres radio-pilotées n’étaient

disponibles que pour les laboratoires et les

institutions spécialisées. Elles étaient

un signal à codage électronique de

radio-pilotage communiquant l'heure

nationale, la précision des montres

radio-pilotées est devenue accessible au

La montre radio-pilotée internationale

constitue une nouvelle avancée. Avant le

développement de ce type de montre, les

montres radio-pilotées ne pouvaient

Les montres conçues pour recevoir les

signaux européens ne fonctionnaient pas

aux États-Unis et vice-versa. Une montre

différente était nécessaire pour chaque

recevoir les signaux transmis par les

SINCRONIZZARE L’ORA

L’orologio è un dispositivo radio e in

determinate circostanze potrebbe

ricevere un segnale non forte a

sufﬁcienza per la sincronizzazione. Se

l’orologio non riesce ad effettuare la

sincronizzazione al primo tentativo,

continuare a ripetere l'operazione ogni

ora nel corso del primo giorno. Se non

si riesce ad effettuare la

sincronizzazione il primo giorno,

provare a ripetere l’operazione ogni

ora dalle 2:00 alle 5:00 nel corso dei

due giorni successivi. In molti casi,

l’orologio effettua la sincronizzazione

nel corso della notte perché il segnale

è più forte di prima mattina. È

possibile sincronizzare l’orologio in un

secondo momento o impostarlo

manualmente. Come indicato di

seguito, un orologio impostato

manualmente tenta comunque di

effettuare automaticamente la

sincronizzazione ogni ora durante il

primo giorno. Se l’operazione non p1-ha

successo il primo giorno, l’orologio

ripeterà l’operazione ogni ora dalle

2:00 alle5:00 nel corso dei due giorni

successivi.

Gli orologi radiocomandati sono i

dispositivi di rilevamento del tempo

più precisi al mondo. Sono in grado di

tenere il tempo con una precisione

superiore a un secondo in un milione

di anni. Fino ad oggi gli orologi

radiocomandati si trovavano solo nei

laboratori e presso speciali istituzioni,

erano grandi e molto costosi. Quando

diversi governi cominciarono a

trasmettere segnali radiocomandati

codiﬁcati elettronicamente con la

propria ora nazionale, la precisione

degli orologi radiocomandati venne

messa a disposizione di tutti. La nuova

tecnologia consente di miniaturizzare

questo processo e di offrilo a costi

ragionevoli.

Il orologio radiocomandato globale p1-ha

fatto un passo avanti. Fino allo

sviluppo di questo tipo di orologio, i

dispositivi radiocomandati erano in

grado di ricever re i e e decodiﬁca

segnali provenienti da un solo

trasmettitore.

Gli orologi per ricevere i segnali in

Europa non funzionavano infatti negli

Stati Uniti e viceversa. Era quindi

necessario un orologio per ogni

SINCRONIZACIÓN DE LA HORA

El reloj es un dispositivo de radio y

puede que no capte una señal lo

suﬁcientemente fuerte para

sincronizarse en ciertas

circunstancias. Si el reloj no se

sincroniza al primer intento,

continuará intentando la

sincronización cada hora durante el

primer día. Si no se sincroniza

durante el primer día intentará hacerlo

cada hora desde las 2:00 hasta las

5:00 durante los siguientes dos días.

En la mayoría de los casos, el reloj se

sincroniza por la noche p2-ya que la

señal de radio es más fuerte al

comenzar el día. Puede dejar que el

reloj se sincronice en otro momento o

puede ajustar el reloj manualmente.

Como se apunta abajo, un reloj

ajustado automáticamente seguirá

intentando sincronizarse

automáticamente cada hora el primer

¿QUÉ ES EL RADIO CONTROL?

Los relojes a radio control son los

dispositivos de medición del tiempo

más precisos del mundo. Marcan la

hora con una precisión de más de un

segundo en un millón de años. Hasta

hace poco, los relojes a radio control

solo se encontraban en laboratorios e

instituciones especiales y eran de gran

tamaño y caros. Cuando varios

gobiernos comenzaron a emitir

señales codiﬁcadas electrónicamente

a radio control con su propia hora

control se hizo disponible al público

El Global Radio Controlled World Time

Watch lleva esto un paso más allá.

Hasta el desarrollo de este tipo de

reloj, los relojes a radio control podían

recibir y descodiﬁcar señales

solamente de un transmisor.

WAT IS RADIOGESTUURD?

Radiogestuurde horloges zijn de

meest precieze uurwerken ter wereld.

Zij geven de tijd weer met een precisie

van één seconde afwijking in een

miljoen jaar. Nog niet zo lang geleden

zag je radiogestuurde horloges alleen

maar in laboratoria en speciale

ondernemingen en waren zij erg groot

en duur. Vanaf het moment dat

verschillende regeringen radiogestu-

urde, elektronisch gecodeerde

signalen met de landelijke tijd

begonnen uit te zenden, was de

nauwkeurigheid van een radiogestuurd

horloge ook beschikbaar voor het

publiek. Recente technologie heeft

ervoor gezorgd dat het proces nu

verkleind is en tegen redelijke kosten

aangeboden wordt.

Het mondiaal radiogestuurde

wereldtijd horloge gaat nog een stapje

verder. Tot de ontwikkeling van dit

soort horloges konden radiogestuurde

horloges slechts signalen van één

zender ontvangen en decoderen.

Horloges die vervaardigd werden om

signalen in Europa te ontvangen,

werkten niet in de VS en vice versa. Er

was een apart horloge nodig voor elk

tijdsignaal. Dit mondiaal radiogestu-

urde horloge verandert alles. Het is in

staat om signalen te ontvangen die

uitgezonden worden door de

verschillende regeringslocaties in

Fort Collins, Colorado, wat de vier

zones in continentaal Amerika dekt;

in Anthorn, Groot-Brittannië, wat

heel Groot-Brittannië dekt;

nabij Mainﬂingen, Duitsland, wat

het grootste deel van west en een

gedeelte van centraal Europa dekt;

en in Kyushu, Japan, wat het

grootste deel van Japan en enige

delen van Korea dekt.

调节表带时，在锁

入新位置之前，应

同步时间

手表是无线电装置，在特定情况下

步时间。如果手表在初次尝试后无

法同步时间，它将在第一天每小时

尝试同步一次。如果在第一天无法

实现同步，它将在接下来的两天内

电波表是世界上最精确的计时装置

。电波表 100 万年的误差仅略多

于 1 秒。以前，电波表仅用于实

验室和特殊机构，它们价格昂贵且

体型庞大。当各国政府开始播送各

自国家时间的无线电控制、电子编

码信号，大众才能通过电波表获得

准确时间。最新技术能够以合理的

成本微型化该程序。

全球电波世界时间表进一步开发该

程序。在此类型的手表问世之前，

电波手表只能接收并译解一个发射

塔发射的信号。

能够在欧洲接收信号的手表，在美

国将无法接受信号，反之亦然。不

同的手表只能接收特定的时间信号

。这款全球电波表将改变一切，它

能够接收各国政府发射的信号

（信号发射位置如图 1 所示）。
