Thank you for choosing UPS ADJ HOME This UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) provides a perfect protection to all feeding devices.

This manual is a guide which enables you to correctly install and use your UPS. This manual includes important SAFETY instructions for the

operator, for the UPS correct installation, and gives useful advice on the product and battery maintenance. For any type of problem, please refer

to this manual before calling the customer service.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

● Only properly trained personnel must use the UPS. To ensure correct and safety operations, it is necessary that operators and

maintenance personnel observe the general Safety Standards as well as the specific instructions included in this manual.

●

Electric Shock risk: do not remove the cover. The UPS contains internal parts at high voltage which are potentially dangerous,

capable of causing injury or death by electric shock.

● In the UPS there are no parts which are subject to user’s maintenance. Any type of maintenance and repair must be carried out

exclusively by a qualified technical authorised. Any type of responsibility is declined if this warning is disregarded.personnel

● It is compulsory to ground the UPS according to Safety Standards in force.

● When the UPS is ON there are risks of electric shock at the output sockets.

● There are risks of electric shock at the output sockets if the unit is connected to the AC utility line.

●

Do not lean any object on top of the UPS; do not keep liquids, flammable gases or corrosive substances near the UPS.

●

Install the UPS indoors, in a protected, clean and moisture free environment.

INTRODUCTION

UPS ADJ HOME is a Line Interactive UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) specifically designed to protect your computer from any type of

irregularities in the AC line (such as black-outs, over voltages, low voltage, micro-interruptions) which often cause damage to your Hardware and

Software.

Under normal AC line condition, UPS ADJ HOME filters electrical disturbances (such as transients, spikes, interferences, etc.) frequently present

on the electrical line, thus protecting all devices connected to the outlets, and recharging the batteries in an ideal way.

In case of anomaly to the AC line, the UPS continues feeding properly the connected devices.

The UPS general characteristics are:

● All functions are controlled by a microprocessor, giving full guarantee on high reliability.

● Overload protection both in normal functioning and in battery mode.

●

High performance battery charger which extends the battery medium life ensuring an optimal recharge.

● Starts up even if the electrical network is not available.

● Adapts automatically to 50 or 60 Hz input frequency.

● Visual and acoustic signals indicating operating mode and alarm conditions.

● Compact dimension and smart design.

INSTALLATION

INSPECTION AND PLACEMENT CHOICE

Carefully remove the UPS from its packaging, and carry out a meticulous inspection. We recommend keeping the original packaging in case you

need to send the UPS for maintenance purposes.

We recommend to pay attention to the below points in order to choose a correct placement for your UPS:

● Place UPS ADJ HOME as close as possible both to the input electrical line and to the equipment to be supplied.

● UPS ADJ HOME is designed to operate in protected environments (for example: offices). We therefore recommend installing it in a

place with no humidity, dust, or smoke. However, for the environmental requirements please refer to the “Specifications” chapter,

and check that the selected place meets with such specifications.

● It is necessary to leave at least 20 cm of space all around in order to permit reasonable ventilation.UPS ADJ HOME

● Do not place any object on top of the UPS.

● Do not keep liquids, flammable gases, or corrosive substances near the unit.

INSTALLATION

For a correct installation please carry out the following points:

1. Switch your PC off.

2. C

onnect the UPS to an AC line outlet. It is mandatory to ground the outlet according to the Safety Standards

. Carefully check the

grounding, make sure that the utility power is available, and that its range falls within the UPS specifications (refer to the “Specifications”

chapter).

3. Turn the UPS ON (by pressing the button) and leave it in ON for at least 8 hours in order to completely re-charge the battery.

4. Switch the UPS OFF (by pressing again button).

5. Connect the devices to the UPS output socket and turn all the switches ON.

6. Restart the UPS; check that the power up performance takes place properly and that the UPS does not give any warning signals. Make sure

that all devices are turned ON accordingly.

FUNCTIONING

SWITCH ON AND FUNCTIONING

In order to switch the UPS on, simply connect it to the electrical line using the supplied cable, and keep ON/OFF button on the top cover pressed

for about 2 seconds. The UPS emits a brief acoustic signal, the 2 leds on the front panel flash and the LINE/BATTERY led switches on. UPS ADJ

HOME begins working in “LINE” mode. In “LINE” mode the LINE/BATTERY led is always switched on.

● ATTENTION: UPS ADJ HOME automatically switches to the BATTERY (“BATTERY” mode) whenever the Mains voltage amplitude is out

of the -safety limit (due to: black out /surge /over/under voltage).

● ATTENTION: never power a laser printer or plotter on to your UPS: the laser printer or the plotter absorb a higher power than the one

absorbed in waiting mode, and this may over charge your UPS.

SWITCH OFF

To switch your UPS ADJ HOME seconds. OFF, it is enough to keep the ON/OFF button pressed for about 2

ALARMS

“BATTERY” mode (slow alarm)

When UPS ADJ HOME works in “BATTERY” mode, it emits a sustained acoustic signal. The alarm stops as soon as the UPS returns to a normal

“LINE” mode functioning.

●

ATTENTION: in “BATTERY” mode, the UPS emits an acoustic alarm signal every 4 seconds and simultaneously the LINE/BATTERY led

ﬂashes.

“LOW BATTERY” CONDITIONS (fast alarm)

When the UPS operates in “BATTERY” the remaining autonomy of the battery is around 20% ~30%, the UPS emits a sustained acmode and oustic

signal. If the AC utility line is not restored, the UPS continues working in “LOW BATTERY” condition, until it switches off due to battery

exhaustion of energy.

●

ATTENTION: in “LOW BATTERY” condition, the UPS emits an acoustic alarm signal every 1 second and simultaneously the

LINE/BATTERY led flashes.

“OVERLOAD” CONDITIONS

In case of “OVERLOAD”, the UPS may automatically switch off, protecting itself from this anomalous situation. In this case, the user must reduce

power within the specifications by disconnecting the appliances which cause the overload (please refer to the “Specifications” chapter).

refuse collection; the violation of this disposal will be punished with pecuniary sanctions

Questo manuale è una guida per installare e utilizzare correttamente l’UPS. Nel manuale sono incluse importanti istruzioni di SICUREZZA per

l’operatore e per una corretta installazione dell’UPS e utili consigli per la manutenzione del prodotto e delle batterie. Per ogni problema fare

prima riferimento al manuale e poi rivolgersi al servizio d’assistenza.

IMPORTANTI AVVISI DI SICUREZZA

● L'UPS deve essere utilizzato solo da personale opportunamente istruito. Per l’uso corretto e in condizioni di sicurezza è

necessario che gli operatori ed il personale di manutenzione si attengano alle norme generali di sicurezza, in aggiunta alle norme

specifiche contenute in questo manuale.

●

Rischio di shock elettrico: non rimuovere il coperchio. L’UPS presenta parti interne sotto tensione che sono potenzialmente

pericolose e possono provocare lesioni o morte per shock elettrico.

● L’UPS non p1-ha parti interne soggette a manutenzione da parte dell’utente. Interventi tecnici di qualsiasi tipo devono essere

compiuti solo da personale tecnico specializzato. In caso contrario verrà declinata ogni responsabilità.

● Il collegamento a terra dell’UPS secondo le norme vigenti è obbligatorio.

●

Rischio di shock elettrico in uscita se l’UPS è acceso.

●

Rischio di shock elettrico in uscita se è presente la tensione di rete elettrica in ingresso.

●

Non appoggiare alcun oggetto sopra l’UPS; non avvicinare liquidi, gas infiammabili o sostante corrosive.

●

Installare l’UPS in ambiente chiuso, pulito e privo di umidità.

INTRODUZIONE

UPS ADJ HOME è un UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply), cioè un gruppo di continuità, di tipo Line Interactive, realizzato appositamente per

proteggere il Computer da qualsiasi avaria della rete elettrica (black-out, sottotensioni, sovratensioni, microinterruzioni), causa dei frequenti

danneggiamenti di Hardware e Software.

Quando è presente la tensione di rete elettrica, UPS ADJ HOME filtra i disturbi frequentemente presenti sulla linea elettrica (transienti, spike,

interferenze, etc.), preservando in tal modo i dispositivi collegati alla sua uscita; inoltre ricarica le batterie in modo ottimale.

In caso di avaria della rete elettrica, l’UPS continua a fornire un’adeguata potenza ai dispositivi collegati.

Le principali caratteristiche dell’UPS sono:

● Controllo a microprocessore di tutte le funzioni, garanzia di alta affidabilità.

● Protezione da sovraccarico sia nel modo di funzionamento normale che in modo batterie.

●

Carica batterie di alte prestazioni che prolunga il tempo medio di vita delle batterie e ne garantisce una ricarica ottimale.

● Accensione anche in condizioni di rete elettrica assente.

● Adattabilità automatica alla frequenza d’ingresso 50 o 60 Hz.

● Segnalazioni visive ed acustiche indicanti le modalità di funzionamento e le condizioni di allarme.

● Dimensioni compatte e curato design.

INSTALLAZIONE

ISPEZIONE E SCELTA DELLA COLLOCAZIONE

Rimuovere l’UPS dall’imballo con cautela e ispezionarlo accuratamente. Si consiglia di conservare l’imballo nell’eventualità futura che l’UPS debba

essere spedito per la manutenzione.

Si consiglia di prestare attenzione ai punti seguenti per la scelta di una corretta collocazione dell’UPS:

●

Collocare UPS ADJ HOME il più vicino possibile sia alla linea elettrica d'ingresso che ai dispositivi a cui deve fornire potenza.

●

UPS ADJ HOME è progettato per operare in ambienti chiusi (come ad esempio gli uffici). Si consiglia perciò d’installarlo in un luogo

privo di umidità, polvere e fumo eccessivi. Consultare comunque il capitolo “Caratteristiche Tecniche” per i requisiti ambientali e

controllare che il luogo scelto rientri in tali specifiche.

●

È necessario lasciare uno spazio di almeno 20 cm su tutti i lati per permettere una sufficiente aerazione.

● Non appoggiare alcun oggetto sopra l’UPS.

● Non avvicinare liquidi, gas infiammabili o sostante corrosive.

INSTALLAZIONE

Per una corretta installazione svolgere i seguenti punti:

1. Spegnere il PC.

2. Collegare l’UPS ad una presa di alimentazione elettrica, che deve avere obbligatoriamente una connessione a terra secondo le norme

vigenti. Verificare il collegamento a terra della presa e accertarsi della presenza della tensione di rete elettrica e che la sua ampiezza

rientri nelle specifiche (vedi capitolo “Caratteristiche Tecniche”).

3. Accendere l’UPS (premendo il pulsante ) e lasciarlo acceso per almeno 8 ore al fine di ricaricare completamente le batterie.

4. Spegnere l'UPS (premendo di nuovo il pulsante).

5. Collegare i vari dispositivi alle prese d'uscita dell’UPS; posizionare i relativi interruttori su ACCESO.

6. Riaccendere l’UPS; controllare lo svolgimento della fase di accensione e che l’UPS non segnali nessuna anomalia. Accertarsi che tutti i

dispositivi si siano accesi regolarmente.

FUNZIONAMENTO

ACCENSIONE E FUNZIONAMENTO

Per accendere l’UPS è sufficiente collegarlo alla linea elettrica e premere continuativamente per circa 2 secondi il pulsante ON/OFF sul coperchio

superiore. L’UPS emette una segnalazione acustica, accende tutti e due i led del pannello frontale, e successivamente comincia a lavorare in modo

Presenza rete (“LINE” mode) accendendo il led LINE/BATTERY. In modo Presenza Rete (“LINE” mode) il led LINE/BATTERY è sempre acceso.

● ATTENZIONE: UPS ADJ HOME passa automaticamente a funzionare in modo BATTERIE (“BATTERY” mode) se l’ampiezza della tensione

di rete esce dai limiti di sicurezza (per un black-out oppure per sovra/sottotensioni).

● ATTENZIONE: non alimentare mai una stampante laser o un plotter con l’UPS: una stampante laser o un plotter assorbe in alcuni

momenti di funzionamento una potenza molto più alta di quella che assorbe in stato di attesa e questo può sovraccaricare l’UPS.

SPEGNIMENTO

Per spegnere l' UPS ADJ HOME è sufficiente premere continuativamente il pulsante ON/OFF per circa 2 secondi.

ALLARMI

“BATTERY” mode (allarme lento)

Quando UPS ADJ HOME lavora in “BATTERY” mode, emette un segnale acustico di allarme. L’allarme cessa non appena l’UPS ritorna a lavorare

normalmente in “LINE” mode.

● ATTENZIONE: l’allarme “BATTERY” viene emesso 1 volta ogni 4 secondi e contemporaneamente lampeggia il led LINE/BATTERY sul

frontale.

Condizioni di “LOW BATTERY” (allarme veloce)

Quando l’UPS lavora in “BATTERY” mode e l’autonomia residua delle batterie è circa 20% ~ 30%, l’UPS emette un rapido segnale acustico di

allarme. L’UPS continua a lavorare in condizioni di “LOW BATTERY”, se la linea elettrica non viene ripristinata, fino a e non si spegne ch

automaticamente in seguito all’esaurimento dell’energia delle batterie.

● ATTENZIONE: l’allarme “LOW BATTERY” viene emesso 1 volta ogni secondo e contemporaneamente lampeggia il led LINE/BATTERY.

Condizioni di “OVERLOAD”

In caso di “OVERLOAD” l’UPS può spegnersi automaticamente per proteggersi dalla situazione anomala. In tal caso l’utente deve riportare al più

presto la richiesta di potenza all’interno delle specifiche, scollegando i dispositivi che generano sovraccarico.

LEAD BATTERIES

UPS ADJ HOME contains lead acid, sealed, maintenance free batteries.

This kind of batteries, if handled by non experienced personnel, can cause electric shock or short-circuits.

For this reason the batteries can be removed only by qualified technical personnel, specialized and authorized by

the producer The producer. esponsideclines any r bilities if this rule is not followed.

To remove the batteries, firstly you have to take off UPS cover, disconnect batteries and take them off from their

housing.

The batteries cannot be disposed as an urban waste, but must be treated in conformity with 2006/66/CE European

Directive; any violation is indictable with financial sanctions as established into 2006/66/CE European Directive.

EUROPEAN DIRECTIVES CONFORMITY

The producer confirms that UPS ADJ HOME models comply with the requirements set out in: the Low Voltage Directive (Safety)

2006/95/EC and following amendments, the EMC (Electro etic Compatibility) Directive 2004/108/-Magn EC and following amendments.

BATTERIE AL PIOMBO

Il prodotto U PS ADJ HOME contiene batterie al piombo acido, ermetiche, senza manutenzione.

Tali batterie, se manovrate da personale inesperto, possono essere causa di shock elettrico e di alte correnti di

cortocircuito.

Per questo motivo la rimozione delle batterie può essere compiuto solo da personale tecnico specializzato ed

autorizzato dal produttore il produttore. In caso contrario declina ogni sua responsabilità.

Per rimuovere le batterie occorre togliere il coperchio del prodotto, scollegare le batterie e toglierle dal loro

alloggiamento.

Le batterie non possono essere smaltite come rifiuto urbano, ma devono essere smaltite nelle modalità previste

dalla Direttiva Europea 2006/66/CE; qualsiasi violazione è punita con sanzioni pecuniarie ai sensi della Direttiva

stessa.
