information, our wireless routers have security settings that are available to help protect your home

wireless network. Using the strongest network security available will go a long way to protect your

home wireless network and secure your information against unauthorized access. Verizon strongly

recommends Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA2) encryption, which is the highest level of security

available.

Your router’s default encryption setting may have been set to WEP encryption, which is an earlier

standard that does not provide the same level of protection for your home network and personal

information as WPA2 encryption. We strongly recommend changing your settings to WPA2

encryption now, if you have not done so already.
