1. Introduction
To all residents of the European Union
Important environmental information about this product
This symbol on the device or the package indicates that disposal of the device after its
lifecycle could harm the environment. Do not dispose of the unit (or batteries) as
unsorted municipal waste; it should be taken to a specialized company for recycling.
This device should be returned to your distributor or to a local recycling service. Respect
the local environmental rules.
If in doubt, contact your local waste disposal authorities.
Thank you for choosing Velleman! Please read the manual thoroughly before bringing
this device into service. If the device was damaged in transit, do not install or use it and
contact your dealer.
2. Safety Instructions
Read and understand this manual and all safety signs before using this appliance.
Indoor use only.
Class II.
This device is not suitable for ordinary lighting in household room illumination.
• This device can be used by children aged from 8 years and above, and persons with
reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and
knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of
the device in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not
play with the device. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children
without supervision.
• Do not use this device in the immediate surroundings of a bath, a shower or a
swimming pool.
• There are no user-serviceable parts inside the device. Refer to an authorized dealer
for service and/or spare parts.
• For luminaires with non user-replaceable light sources:
It shall not be possible to replace and/or give access to live parts without breaking
the luminaire or its parts.
• For non user-replaceable light sources:
The light source of this luminaire is not user-replaceable; when the light source
reaches its end of life, the whole luminaire shall be replaced.
• Do not use the luminaire with a cracked or broken protective shield. Disconnect
immediately from the mains.

• Do not stare directly at the light source, as this may cause
o epileptic seizure in sensitive people
o temporarily loss of sight (flash blindness)
o permanent (irreversible) eye damage.
• Keep away from excessive heat and direct sunlight.
• The housing might heat up during usage. Keep minimum distances around the
device for sufficient ventilation. Place the device on a flat, heat-resistant surface. Do
not place the device on carpets, fabrics…
• Where the mains plug or an appliance coupler is used as the disconnect device, the
disconnect device shall remain readily operable.
• If the external flexible cable or cord of this luminaire is damaged, it shall be
replaced by a special cord or cord exclusively available from the manufacturer or his
service agent.
• Never leave the magnifying lens unattended where direct sunlight may pass through
it: this creates a fire hazard. Close the lens cover after use.
3. General Guidelines
• Refer to the Velleman ® Service and Quality Warranty on the last pages of this
manual.
• All modifications of the device are forbidden for safety reasons. Damage caused by
user modifications to the device is not covered by the warranty.
• Only use the device for its intended purpose. Using the device in an unauthorised
way will void the warranty.
• Damage caused by disregard of certain guidelines in this manual is not covered by
the warranty and the dealer will not accept responsibility for any ensuing defects or
problems.
• Nor Velleman Group nv nor its dealers can be held responsible for any damage
(extraordinary, incidental or indirect) – of any nature (financial, physical…) arising
from the possession, use or failure of this product.
• Keep this manual for future reference.
4. Installation
1. Open the table clamp by twisting the T-handle counter clockwise.
2. Slide the clamp over a suitable and solid horizontal surface capable of carrying it,
T-handle at the bottom.
3. Twist the T-handle clockwise until the clamp is firmly secured to the surface.
4. Slide the stem of the lamp into the hole on top of the clamp.
5. Plug the power cable into a suitable mains outlet.
6. Switch on the lamp with the on-off button on top of the lamp.
7. The magnifying lens is protected by a hard cover. Fold it upwards to use the lens.
Do not force. Always close it when not in use to avoid fire hazard (sunlight).
