VTLAN4 – LAN TESTER FOR RJ45, RJ12, RJ11

1. Introduction & Features

Thank you for buying the VTLAN4! Please read the manual thoroughly before bringing this device into service.

If the device was damaged in transit, don't install or use it and contact your dealer. The VTLAN4 can check RJ11, RJ12

and RJ45 cables on the 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and G lines for wrong connections, short circuits and open lines.

2. Operation

Switch the power on and put the cable ends into both the main tester

and the remote tester. The lights of the main tester will light up

sequentially from 1 to G. The on/off switch can also be set to 'S',

which stands for 'slow', to execute the sequence in a slower tempo.

Main Tester: 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-G

Remote Tester: 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-G (RJ45)

3. Error Reading

1. If one line, e.g. 3, is open, the no.3 lights of the main tester and remote tester will not light up.

2. If several lines are not connected, several lights will be out. If less than two lines are connected, all lights are out.

3. If two ends of a line are mixed up, for example 2 and 4, then the following sequences are displayed:

Main Tester: 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-G

Remote Tester: 1-4-3-2-5-6-7-8-G

4. If two lines are short circuited, neither of the corresponding lights on the remote tester will light up, while the

sequence of the main tester remains unchanged. If three lines are mixed up, none of the lights will light up.

4. Beware

• This cable tester cannot test an electrified product.

• The requires a 9V battery. Change it when the lights on the device become weaker. VTLAN4

• Insert the connectors completely into the device. Use only professionally pressed connectors.

VTLAN4 – LAN TESTER VOOR RJ45, RJ12, RJ11

1. Inleiding en kenmerken

Dank u voor uw aankoop! Lees deze handleiding grondig voor u het toestel in gebruik neemt. Als het toestel werd

beschadigd tijdens het transport, installeer het dan niet en raadpleeg uw dealer. De VTLAN4 kan de lijnen 1, 2, 3, 4,

5, 6, 7, 8 en G van RJ11, RJ12 en RJ45-kabels controleren op foute aansluitingen, kortsluiting en open lijnen.

2. Gebruik (zie figuur blz.1)

Zet het toestel aan en sluit de kabel langs de ene kant aan op de 'master' en langs de andere kant op de 'remote'. De

lichtjes van de master zullen één per één oplichten van 1 tot G. De on/off-schakelaar kan ook op 'S' worden gezet ;

dit staat voor 'slow' (traag) en voert de opeenvolging uit tegen een trager tempo.

Remote: 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-G (RJ45)

3. Foutuitlezing

1. Wanneer er 1 lijn, bvb. 3, open is, zullen de lichtjes nummer 3 van de 'master' en 'remote' testers niet oplichten.

2. Wanneer meerdere lijnen niet aangesloten zijn, zullen meerdere lichtjes niet branden. Wanneer minder dan 2

lijnen aangesloten zijn, blijven alle lichtjes uit.

3. Wanneer twee lijnuiteinden omgewisseld zijn, bvb 2 en 4, worden de volgende sequenties weergegeven:

Master: 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-G

Remote: 1-4-3-2-5-6-7-8-G

4. Wanneer twee lijnen kortgesloten zijn, zullen geen enkele van de corresponderende lichtjes op de 'remote' tester

oplichten, terwijl de sequentie van de 'master' tester gewoon doorloopt. Wanneer drie lijnen kortgesloten zijn, zal

er geen enkel lichtje oplichten.

4. Let op

• Deze kabeltester kan geen producten onder stroom testen.

• De werkt op een 9V-batterij. Vervang deze wanneer de lichtjes van de zwakker schijnen. VTLAN4 VTLAN4

• Steek de connectoren volledig in het toestel. Gebruik enkel professioneel geperste connectoren.

VTLAN4 – TESTEUR LAN POUR RJ45, RJ12, RJ11

1. Introduction et caractéristiques

Nous vous remercions de votre achat ! Lisez le présent manuel attentivement avant la mise en service de l'appareil.

Si l’appareil a été endommagé pendant le transport, ne l'installez pas et consultez votre revendeur. Le VTLAN4 peut

tester les fils 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 et G de câbles RJ11, RJ12 et RJ45 sur de fausses connexions, des courts-circuits et

des lignes ouvertes.

2. Opération (voir figure à la p.1)

Allumez l'appareil et connectez un bout du câble dans le testeur 'master' et l'autre dans le testeur 'remote'. Les

lumières du testeur 'master' s'illuminent séquentiellement de 1 à G. L'interrupteur on/off peut également être mis sur

'S' ('slow': lent) pour exécuter la séquence à un tempo plus modéré.

3. Lecture d'erreur

1. Si un fil, p.ex. le 3, est ouvert, les lumières no.3 des testeurs 'master' et 'remote' ne s'illumineront pas.

2. Si plusieurs fils ne sont pas connectés, plusieurs lumières ne seront pas allumées. Si moins de deux fils sont

connectés, aucune lumière ne s'illuminera.

3. Si deux bouts de fils sont mélangés, par exemple 2 et 4, les séquences suivantes sont affichées:

Main Tester: 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-G

Remote Tester: 1-4-3-2-5-6-7-8-G

4. Si deux lignes sont court-circuitées, aucune des deux lumières du testeur 'remote' ne s'illumineront, pendant que

la séquence du 'master' ne change pas. Si trois lignes sont court-circuitées, aucune lumière ne s'illuminera.

4. Attention

• Ce testeur de câble ne peut pas tester un produit sous tension.

• Le marche sur une pile 9V. Renouvelez-la quand les lumières de l'appareil deviennent faibles. VTLAN4

• Insérez les connecteurs entièrement dans l'appareil. N'utilisez que des connecteurs pressés professionnellement.

VTLAN4 – COMPROBADOR DE CABLE LAN PARA RJ45, RJ12, RJ11

1. Introducción & Características

Si el aparato ha sufrido algún daño en el transporte no lo instale y póngase en contacto con su distribuidor. El

VTLAN4 puede verificar si los hilos 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 y G de los cables RJ11, RJ12 y RJ45 tienen falsas conexiones,

están cortocircuitados o abiertos.

2. Funcionamiento (véase figura en la p.1)

Active el aparato y conecte un extremo del cable al comprobador 'master' y el otro extremo al comprobador 'remote'.

Las luces del comprobador 'master' se iluminarán una a una secuencialmente de 1 a G. También, es posible poner

el interruptor on/off en 'S' ('slow': lento) para realizar la secuencia a una velocidad más lenta.

Master: 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-G

Remote: 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-G (RJ45)

3. Mensaje de error

1. Si un hilo, p.ej. el 3, está abierto, las luces no.3 del comprobador 'master' y del comprobador 'remote' no se

iluminarán.

2. Si varios hilos no están conectados, varias luces no se iluminarán. Si están conectados menos de dos hilos, no se

iluminará ninguna luz.

3. Si dos extremos de los hilos están mezclados, por ejemplo 2 y 4, las siguientes secuencias se visualizarán:
