SAFETY

CAUTION! Do not use heater with flammable

vapors present.

CAUTION! Do not use heater to heat flammable

materials. The drum heater surface is HOT

during operation. Do not use drum heater on or

near combustible surfaces.

CAUTION! Monitor the temperature while

heating your material.

CAUTION! Heater is not waterproof. Do not allow

the heater and/or controls to become wet.

CAUTION! Drum heater must be electrically

grounded to avoid the possibility of shock.

Never alter or remove the plug.

CAUTION! Open vent plug while operating heater.

Failure to do so may cause the heater to explode.

CAUTION! Do not use drain spouts or valves on

drums that can fail at elevated temperatures.

CAUTION! Make sure the drum heater is tightly

secured to the container.

CAUTION! Never use a drum heater inside or

adjacent to heavy airborne dust locations,

such as grain elevators, grain silos, hay storage

areas, etc.

CAUTION! Know how applied heat will affect

your material before using the drum heater. If

you are not sure how to heat your material, do

not use the drum heater until you are informed.

Contact your material supplier for more

information.

CAUTION! User must determine the suitability of

the drum heater for the intended heating

application. Do not leave the drum heater

unattended during the heating cycle. Disconnect

the heater from the wall when not in use.

CAUTION! For indoor use only.

For use with metal drums only.

SET-UP

1. Place drum on an even surface. Slide heater over top

of drum and mount near the drum base. The drum

seam (or any other defect) should be spanned by

the gap in the heater clamping area. (See Figure 1)

2. Tighten the clamp spring nuts after closing the

clamp to ensure a snug fit between the heater and

drum. Failure to secure a tight fit may result in heater

failure. (See Figure 1a)

NOTE: If using two heaters on the same drum,

make sure the power cord of the uppermost

heater falls upon an unheated section of the

lower drum heater.

3. Make sure the drum content level is above the top

edge of the heater band. Should the material fall

below the band, the heater may not cycle.
