Description

Ethernet and PoE connections both restrict cable distances to 100 meters be-

tween network ports. To overcome this distance limit, network installers can

simply connect a PoE Extender inline with the Cat5e or Cat6 cable (Outdoor -- -

type).

With a Gigabit PoE Extender, PDs (such as IP Security Cameras, wireless ac-

cess points) can be installed at greater distances than 100 meters from one

another. By connecting the PoE Extender for every extra 100 meters of cable,

both Ethernet and PoE can be extended up to 300 meters, depending on PDs

power required and power source.

The Gigabit PoE Extender does not require any additional power supply and

the connected PDs are fed by a single PoE switch or midspan, which simplifies -

installation. The PoE Extender offers two Gigabit Ethernet ports, which are both

configured automatically for link speed, duplex and crossover and the fullrate -

network throughput is maintained.

The PoE IN connection accepts power on pins 1,2.3,6 and 4,5.7,8 and con-

forms to IEEE802.3af/at PoE specification, Mode A and Mode B. PoE OUT

connection provides up to 25W with an IEEE802.3AT 30W input. PoE Out pro-

vides power on pins 1,2(V+) and 3,6(V-).
