mercury or 0.004% lead.
By ensuring these batteries are disposed of correctly, you will help prevent
potentially negative consequences for the environment and human health
which could otherwise be caused by inappropriate waste handling of the
battery. The recycling of the materials will help to conserve natural

In case of products that for safety, performance or data integrity reasons
require a permanent connection with an incorporated battery, this battery

Before use
Before using this cover, please read this User Guide thoroughly and
retain it for future reference.
PRSA-CL35 is the cover for Reader Pocket Edition™ (PRS-350) and
PRSA-CL65 is the cover for Reader Touch Edition™ (PRS-650).
Getting started
1 Open the cover of the battery case, and insert the battery
(supplied) (See fig. ).
Match on the battery with in the battery case. 
Notes
• If you do not use the cover for a long period of time, remove the
battery to avoid damage from battery leakage and corrosion.
• Replace battery with a new battery when brightness is degraded.
If the battery cover comes off (See fig. )
The battery cover is designed to come off if opened with
excessive force. To reattach the cover, insert the hook into the hole
of the battery case from one side to the other . 
2 Pull the tabs, and insert it into the holes of the Reader™
(See fig. ).
3 Raise the flexible light arm and bend it towards the Reader,
while adjusting the light unit to a suitable comfortable angle
(See fig. ).
When you raise the flexible light arm, the light is turned on
automatically, and when you place the flexible light arm back to
the initial position, the light is turned off automatically.
You can set the brightness of the light to (Standard) or (High).
If you need a brighter light, set the brightness control switch
(fig. - ) to (High). 
Notes
• If the battery is running low, the difference in brightness between
(High) and (Standard) may be indistinguishable.
• If the light is not turned on automatically when you raise the flexible
light arm, check the remaining battery level and check the battery is
installed properly, or replace with a new battery.
Storing the flexible light arm and turning off
the light (See fig. )
Straighten the flexible light arm up as illustrated and rotate the light unit
to its original position, then lower it into the holding slot. The light is
turned off automatically.
Notes
• Be sure the flexible light arm is stored in the holding slot properly.
• If the light is not turned off automatically, check the light window is faced
to the device and the light unit stored in its original position as illustrated
  - .
To remove the Reader
Pull the tabs, and remove the Reader (See fig. ).

Notes on use
• Do not place the unit in locations that are:
– Extremely hot or cold
– Dusty or dirty
– Very humid
– Vibrating
– Strong magnetic fields
– Sandy
– Exposed to direct sunlight
• Do not apply mechanical shock or drop the unit.
• Be sure that nothing metallic comes into contact with the metal parts of
this unit. If this happens, a short circuit may occur and the unit may be
damaged.
• Always keep the metal contacts clean.
• Do not disassemble or convert the unit.
• While the unit is in use, it gets warm. This is normal.
• Keep the unit away from TV or AM receivers, as it may disturb reception.
• To prevent possibly damaging the Reader, make sure that there is no dirt
or dust inside the cover or the Reader before use. If necessary, wipe the
cover or the Reader with a soft cloth, such as a cleaning cloth for
eyeglasses.
• Do not put any cards such as cash cards or credit cards with magnetic
coding near the magnet stored in the brightness control switch, light unit
or holding slot. Otherwise, your cards may become impaired due to the
magnetic effect.
• Do not directly look at the light.
On cleaning
Clean the unit with a soft dry cloth, or a soft cloth lightly moistened with a
mild detergent solution. Do not use any type of solvent, such as alcohol or
benzine, which may damage the finish.

Avant toute utilisation
Avant d’utiliser l’étui, lisez l’intégralité de ce Guide de l’utilisateur et
conservez-le pour toute consultation ultĂŠrieure.
Le PRSA-CL35 est l’étui du Reader Pocket Edition™ (PRS-350) et le
PRSA-CL65 est l’étui du Reader Touch Edition™ (PRS-650).
PrĂŠparation
1 Ouvrez le couvercle du logement de la pile et insĂŠrez la pile
(fournie) (voir fig. ).
Veillez à ce que le pôle de la pile corresponde au repère du  
logement de la pile.
Remarques
• Si vous n’utilisez pas l’étui pendant une période prolongée, retirez la
pile afin d’éviter tout risque de fuite ou de corrosion de la pile, ce qui
pourrait endommager l’appareil.
• Remplacez la pile par une pile neuve lorsque la luminosité de l’écran
faiblit.
Si le couvercle de la pile se détache (voir fig. )
Le couvercle de la pile est conçu pour se dÊtacher en cas
d’ouverture avec une force excessive. Pour réinstaller le
couvercle, insérez le crochet dans l’orifice du logement de la pile
d’un côté vers l’autre . 
2 Tirez les languettes et insérez l’étui dans les orifices du
Reader™ (voir fig. ).
3 Relevez le bras d’éclairage flexible et pliez-le vers le Reader,
tout en rĂŠglant la lampe sur un angle confortable et adĂŠquat
(voir fig. ).
Lorsque vous soulevez le bras d’éclairage flexible, la lumière
s’allume automatiquement, et lorsque vous le replacez dans sa
position initiale, la lumière s’éteint automatiquement.
Vous pouvez régler la luminosité de l’éclairage sur (Standard)
ou (ElevĂŠe).
Si vous avez besoin d’un éclairage plus lumineux, réglez le
commutateur de contrôle de la luminosité (fig. - ) sur  
(ElevĂŠe).
Remarques
• Si la pile est faible, la différence de luminosité entre les réglages
(ElevĂŠe) et (Standard) peut ĂŞtre imperceptible.
• Si la lumière ne s’allume pas automatiquement lorsque vous soulevez
le bras d’éclairage flexible, vérifiez le niveau d’autonomie restante de
la pile et vĂŠrifiez si celle-ci est correctement installĂŠe, ou remplacez-
la par une pile neuve.
Rangement du bras d’éclairage flexible et
extinction de l’éclairage (voir fig. )
Redressez le bras d’éclairage flexible comme illustré et faites pivoter la
lampe pour la replacer dans sa position d’origine, puis abaissez
l’ensemble dans son logement. La lumière s’éteint automatiquement.
Remarques
• Assurez-vous que le bras d’éclairage flexible est correctement rangé
dans son logement.
• Si la lumière ne s’éteint pas automatiquement, assurez-vous que la vitre
de la lampe est orientée face à l’appareil et que la lampe est rangée dans
sa position d’origine, comme illustré - . 
Pour retirer le Reader
Tirez les languettes et retirez le Reader (voir fig. ).

Remarques sur l’utilisation
• Ne placez pas l’étui dans des endroits :
– extrêmement chauds ou froids
– poussiéreux ou sales
– très humides
– soumis à des vibrations

• N’appliquez pas de choc mécanique à l’étui et ne le laissez pas tomber.
• Veillez à ce qu’aucun objet métallique n’entre en contact avec les parties
métalliques de l’étui. Cela risquerait de provoquer un court-circuit et
d’endommager l’étui.
• Veillez à ce que les contacts métalliques restent propres.
• Ne démontez pas ou ne modifiez pas l’étui.
• En cours d’utilisation, l’étui chauffe. Ceci est normal.
• Eloignez l’étui des récepteurs radio ou télévision afin de ne pas perturber
la rĂŠception.
• Pour éviter toute détérioration du Reader, assurez-vous qu’il n’y a pas de
saleté ou de poussière à l’intérieur de l’étui ou du Reader avant de les
utiliser. Si nécessaire, essuyez l’étui ou le Reader à l’aide d’un chiffon
doux, tel qu’un chiffon à lunettes.
• Ne placez aucune carte, telle qu’une carte bancaire ou une carte de
crédit, dotée d’un codage magnétique à proximité de l’aimant intégré au
commutateur de contrĂ´le de la luminositĂŠ, de la lampe ou du logement.
Sinon, l’effet magnétique risquerait d’endommager vos cartes.
• Ne regardez pas directement la lampe.
A propos du nettoyage
Nettoyez l’appareil à l’aide d’un chiffon doux et sec ou d’un chiffon doux
légèrement humidifié d’une solution détergente neutre. N’utilisez aucun
solvant, tels que de l’alcool ou de la benzine, qui pourrait endommager la
finition.

Lesen Sie diese Betriebsanleitung bitte genau durch, bevor Sie die
Schutzhßlle benutzen, und bewahren Sie sie zum späteren
Nachschlagen sorgfältig auf.
Das Modell PRSA-CL35 ist die SchutzhĂźlle fĂźr den Reader Pocket
Edition™ (PRS-350), das Modell PRSA-CL65 für den Reader Touch
Edition™ (PRS-650).
Vorbereitungen
1 Öffnen Sie den Deckel des Batteriefachs und setzen Sie die
Batterie (mitgeliefert) ein (siehe Abb. ).
Richten Sie die Markierung an der Batterie dabei an der 
Markierung im Batteriefach aus.
Hinweise
• Wenn Sie die Schutzhülle längere Zeit nicht benutzen wollen,
nehmen Sie die Batterie heraus, damit nicht durch eine auslaufende
oder korrodierte Batterie Schäden entstehen.
• Tauschen Sie die Batterie gegen eine neue aus, wenn die Helligkeit
nachlässt.
Wenn sich der Batteriefachdeckel löst (siehe Abb. )
Der Batteriefachdeckel ist so konzipiert, dass er sich lĂśst, wenn er
mit zu viel Kraft geĂśffnet wird. Um den Deckel wieder anzubringen,
setzen Sie den Vorsprung in die Kerbe am Batteriefach ein, und
zwar zuerst auf der einen Seite und dann auf der anderen . 
2 Ziehen Sie die Laschen auseinander und setzen Sie sie in die
Aussparungen am Reader™ ein (siehe Abb. ).
3 Ziehen Sie den flexiblen Beleuchtungsarm nach oben, biegen
Sie ihn dann zum Reader hin und stellen Sie das
Beleuchtungsteil gleichzeitig auf einen geeigneten Winkel ein
(siehe Abb. ).
Wenn Sie den flexiblen Beleuchtungsarm nach oben ziehen,

Hinweise
• Bei einer schwachen Batterie ist zwischen (Hoch) und
(Standard) unter Umständen kein Unterschied mehr zu erkennen.
• Wenn Sie den flexiblen Beleuchtungsarm nach oben ziehen und sich
die Beleuchtung nicht automatisch einschaltet, prĂźfen Sie, ob die
Batterie richtig eingesetzt ist, prĂźfen Sie die Batterierestladung und
tauschen Sie die Batterie bei Bedarf gegen eine neue aus.




Verstauen des flexiblen Beleuchtungsarms
und Ausschalten des Lichts (siehe Abb. )
Ziehen Sie den flexiblen Beleuchtungsarm wie in der Abbildung
dargestellt gerade nach oben, drehen Sie das Beleuchtungsteil in
seine Ausgangsposition und klappen Sie den Beleuchtungsarm dann
um, so dass er in der Aussparung zu liegen kommt. Das Licht wird
automatisch ausgeschaltet.
Hinweise
• Achten Sie darauf, dass der flexible Beleuchtungsarm ordnungsgemäß in
der Aussparung sitzt.
• Wenn das Licht nicht automatisch ausgeschaltet wird, überprüfen Sie, ob
das Lichtfenster zum Gerät weist und das Beleuchtungsteil in seiner
Ausgangsposition sitzt, wie in Abbildung - dargestellt. 

Hinweise zum Gebrauch
• Verwenden Sie das Gerät nicht an Orten, an denen es folgenden

Reinigen Sie die SchutzhĂźlle oder den Reader bei Bedarf mit einem
weichen Tuch, beispielsweise einem Brillenputztuch.
• Halten Sie Magnetstreifenkarten wie z. B. Bank- oder Kreditkarten von
den Magneten im Schalter fĂźr die Helligkeitseinstellung, im
Beleuchtungsteil bzw. in der Aussparung fern. Andernfalls kĂśnnen die
Karten aufgrund der Magneten unbrauchbar werden.
• Schauen Sie nicht direkt in die Beleuchtung.
Reinigung
Reinigen Sie das Gerät mit einem weichen, trockenen Tuch oder einem
weichen Tuch, das Sie leicht mit einer milden ReinigungslĂśsung
angefeuchtet haben. Verwenden Sie keine LĂśsungsmittel wie Alkohol oder

Procedimientos iniciales
1 Abra la tapa del compartimiento de la pila e inserte la pila
(suministrada) (consulte la fig. ).

compartimiento de la pila.
Notas
• Si no va a utilizar la cubierta durante un largo período de tiempo,

• Sustituya la pila por una nueva cuando disminuya el brillo.

2 Tire de las pestañas e insértelas en los orificios del Reader™
(consulte la fig. ).
3 Levante el brazo flexible de la lĂĄmpara y dĂłblelo hacia el
Reader al mismo tiempo que ajusta la bombilla en un ĂĄngulo
adecuado y cómodo (consulte la fig. ).
Cuando levante el brazo flexible de la lĂĄmpara, la luz se
encenderĂĄ automĂĄticamente y, cuando vuelva a colocar el brazo
flexible de la lĂĄmpara en la posiciĂłn inicial, la luz se apagarĂĄ
automĂĄticamente.
Puede ajustar el brillo de la luz en (EstĂĄndar) o (Alto).

Voor gebruik
Voor u deze hoes gebruikt, dient u deze Gebruikershandleiding
aandachtig te lezen en te bewaren zodat u deze later nog kunt
raadplegen.
PRSA-CL35 is de hoes voor Reader Pocket Edition™ (PRS-350) en
PRSA-CL65 is de hoes voor Reader Touch Edition™ (PRS-650).
Aan de slag
1 Open het deksel van het batterijvak en plaats de batterij
(bijgeleverd) (zie afb. ).
Plaats het symbool op de batterij aan de kant van het symbool 
 in het batterijvak.
Opmerkingen
• Als u de hoes gedurende lange tijd niet gebruikt, verwijdert u de
batterij om schade door batterijlekkage en corrosie te voorkomen.
• Vervang de batterij door een nieuwe batterij wanneer de helderheid
vermindert.
Als het batterijdeksel loskomt (zie afb. ).
Het batterijdeksel komt volledig los als u hier te veel kracht op
uitoefent. Om het batterijdeksel opnieuw te bevestigen, plaatst u
de haak eerst aan kant en vervolgens aan kant in de  
opening van het batterijvak.
2 Trek de klemmen uit elkaar en plaats deze in de openingen van
de Reader™ (zie afb. ).
3 Breng de flexibele lichtarm omhoog, buig deze naar de Reader
en roteer het lichtonderdeel naar een comfortabele hoek (zie
afb. ).
Wanneer u de flexibele lichtarm omhoog brengt, wordt het licht
automatisch ingeschakeld; wanneer u deze terug op zijn
oorspronkelijke positie plaatst, wordt het licht automatisch
uitgeschakeld.
U kunt de helderheid van het licht instellen op (standaard) of
(hoog).
Stel de helderheidsregelingsschakelaar in op (hoog) als u meer
licht wenst (afb. - ). 
Opmerkingen
• Als de batterij bijna leeg is, merkt u mogelijk geen verschil tussen de
helderheid van (hoog) en (standaard).
• Als het licht niet automatisch wordt ingeschakeld wanneer u de
flexibele lichtarm omhoog brengt, controleert u de batterijlading en
gaat u na of de batterij correct geplaatst is. Vervang de batterij indien
nodig door een nieuwe.
De flexibele lichtarm wegklappen en het
licht uitschakelen (zie afb. )
Plooi de flexibele lichtarm recht zoals weergegeven, roteer het
lichtonderdeel naar de oorspronkelijke positie en klap de arm
vervolgens weg in de opbergsleuf. Het licht wordt automatisch
uitgeschakeld.
Opmerkingen
• Zorg ervoor dat de flexibele lichtarm correct in de opbergsleuf
opgeborgen is.
• Als het licht niet automatisch uitgeschakeld wordt, controleert u of het
lichtvenster naar het toestel gericht is en of het lichtonderdeel zoals
weergegeven opgeborgen is op zijn oorspronkelijke positie - . 
De Reader verwijderen
Trek de klemmen uit elkaar en verwijder de Reader (zie afb. ).

Opmerking over het gebruik
• Zet het toestel niet op plaatsen waar het wordt blootgesteld aan:

• Stel het toestel niet bloot aan mechanische schokken en laat het niet
vallen.
• Zorg ervoor dat er geen metalen voorwerpen in contact komen met de

Over het reinigen
Reinig het toestel met een zachte droge doek of een zachte doek die licht
is bevochtigd met een mild zeepsopje. Gebruik geen oplosmiddelen zoals

Trattamento del dispositivo elettrico o elettronico a fine vita

Questo simbolo sul prodotto o sulla confezione indica che il
prodotto non deve essere considerato come un normale rifiuto
domestico, ma deve invece essere consegnato ad un punto di

Questo simbolo sul prodotto o sulla confezione indica che la
pila non deve essere considerata un normale rifiuto domestico.
Su alcuni tipi di pile questo simbolo potrebbe essere utilizzato
in combinazione con un simbolo chimico. I simboli chimici del
mercurio (Hg) o del piombo (Pb) sono aggiunti, se la batteria
contiene piĂš dello 0,0005% di mercurio o dello 0,004% di piombo.
Assicurandovi che le pile siano smaltite correttamente, contribuirete a
prevenire potenziali conseguenze negative per l’ambiente e per la salute
che potrebbero altrimenti essere causate dal loro inadeguato smaltimento.
Il riciclaggio dei materiali aiuta a conservare le risorse naturali.
In caso di prodotti che per motivi di sicurezza, prestazione o protezione dei
dati richiedano un collegamento fisso ad una pila interna, la stessa dovrĂ 
essere sostituita solo da personale di assistenza qualificato.
Consegnare il prodotto a fine vita al punto di raccolta idoneo allo
smaltimento di apparecchiature elettriche ed elettroniche; questo assicura
che anche la pila al suo interno venga trattata correttamente.
Per le altre pile consultate la sezione relativa alla rimozione sicura delle
pile. Conferire le pile esauste presso i punti di raccolta indicati per il riciclo.
Per informazioni piĂš dettagliate circa lo smaltimento della pila esausta o del
prodotto, potete contattare il Comune, il servizio locale di smaltimento rifiuti
oppure il negozio dove l’avete acquistato.
Prima dell’uso
Prima di utilizzare la copertina, leggere con attenzione la presente
Guida dell’utilizzatore e conservarla per farvi riferimento in futuro.
PRSA-CL35 è la copertina per il modello Reader Pocket Edition™
(PRS-350), mentre PRSA-CL65 è la copertina per il modello Reader
Touch Edition™ (PRS-650).
Operazioni preliminari
1 Aprire il coperchio del vano pile e inserire la pila in dotazione
(fig. ).
Verificare che il polo sulla pila sia inserito in corrispondenza del 
simbolo nel vano pile.
Note
• Se non si intende utilizzare la copertina per un periodo prolungato,
estrarre la pila onde evitare danni dovuti a perdite di elettrolita e
corrosione.
• La pila deve essere sostituita quando si rileva una diminuzione della
luminositĂ .
Se la copertina si stacca (fig. )
La copertina è progettata per staccarsi nel caso in cui venga
aperta con una forza eccessiva. Per applicare di nuovo la
copertina, inserire il gancio nel foro del vano pile, procedendo da
un lato verso l’altro . 
2 Tirare le linguette e inserirle nei fori del dispositivo Reader™
(fig. ).
3 Sollevare la lampada flessibile e piegarla verso il dispositivo
Reader, regolandola all’angolazione desiderata (fig. ).
La lampadina si accende automaticamente quando si solleva la
lampada flessibile e si spegne automaticamente quando la
lampada flessibile viene riportata nella posizione iniziale.
La luminosità della lampada può essere impostata su (Standard)
o (Alta).
Per un’intensità luminosa superiore, portare l’interruttore di
controllo della luminosità (fig. - ) nella posizione (Alta). 
Note
• Se la pila è scarica, la differenza di luminosità tra (Alta) e
(Standard) potrebbe essere minima.
• Se la lampadina non si accende automaticamente al sollevamento
della lampada flessibile, controllare la durata rimanente della pila e
verificare che la pila stessa sia inserita correttamente, oppure
sostituirla con una pila nuova.
Riporre la lampada flessibile e spegnere la
lampadina (fig. )
Raddrizzare la lampada flessibile come mostrato nella figura e ruotarla
nella posizione originale, quindi abbassarla nello slot di fermo. La
lampadina si spegne automaticamente.
Note
• Assicurarsi che la lampada flessibile sia inserita correttamente nello slot
di fermo.
• Se la lampadina non si spegne automaticamente, verificare che la finestra
luminosa sia rivolta verso il dispositivo e che la lampada venga riportata
nella posizione iniziale come mostrato nella figura - . 
Per rimuovere il dispositivo Reader
Tirare le linguette e rimuovere il dispositivo Reader (fig. ).




Note sull’utilizzo
• Non collocare l’unità in luoghi che presentano le caratteristiche riportate
di seguito:
– Temperature particolarmente calde o fredde
– Polvere o sporcizia
– Umidità elevata
– Vibrazioni
– Campi magnetici intensi
– Sabbia
– Luce diretta del sole
• Evitare di urtare o di lasciar cadere l’unità.
• Evitare che oggetti metallici entrino a contatto con le parti metalliche
dell’unità. In caso contrario, potrebbe verificarsi un cortocircuito con
conseguenti danni all’unità.
• Mantenere sempre puliti i contatti in metallo.
• Non smontare e non alterare l’unità.
• Durante l’uso l’unità diventa calda. È un comportamento normale.
• Mantenere l’unità a distanza da televisori o ricevitori AM, in quanto ciò
potrebbe causare disturbi alla ricezione.
• Per evitare danni al dispositivo Reader, prima dell’uso è necessario
verificare che all’interno della copertina e del dispositivo Reader non
siano presenti polvere o sporcizia. Se necessario, pulire la copertina o il
dispositivo Reader con un panno morbido, ad esempio un panno di
pulizia per occhiali.
• Non conservare tessere o carte di credito con banda magnetica in
prossimità del magnete presente nell’interruttore di controllo della
luminosità, nella lampada o nello slot di fermo. In caso contrario, l’effetto
magnetico potrebbe causare la smagnetizzazione delle carte.
• Non guardare direttamente la luce.
Pulizia
Pulire l’unità con un panno morbido asciutto o leggermente inumidito con
una soluzione detergente neutra. Non utilizzare alcun tipo di solvente, quali
alcool o benzina, onde evitare di danneggiare la finitura.
