Safety Information
WARNING

Intended Use
Device for testing UK mains sockets to ensure they are wired
and functioning correctly.
Operation
WARNING: This product is designed for routine testing
of mains sockets which are not expected to be faulty but
as a safety check to ensure they are wired correctly. If you
already have symptoms that indicate a mains socket is
incorrectly wired and possibly dangerous you should consult
a professional electrician immediately.
WARNING: Do not use if the tester appears damaged,
any part is loose internally or if there is any indication of
water ingress.
WARNING: Never expose the socket tester or mains
sockets to water, steam or rain.
IMPORTANT: It is recommended to test the socket tester on
a known correctly wired mains socket to verify the tester is
functioning normally before testing on other mains sockets.
Mains Socket Test
WARNING: This product does not test if neutral and earth
are reversed.
WARNING: This product does not indicate ‘OK’ when all three
LEDs are illuminated. Always refer to the indicator panel on
the socket tester or these instructions.
1. Insert the socket tester into a live mains socket you wish to
test.
Note: If the mains socket incorporates a switch, test that no
LEDs are illuminated with the switch in the off position before
switching on.
2. Use the table below or the indicator panel on the socket
tester for wiring status.
3. In the event a fault is indicated or the socket is live when
switched off, get a
professional electrician to repair or replace the wiring
and/or socket.
WARNING: Do not leave the socket tester inserted in a
live mains socket for longer than 1.5 minutes as the socket
tester can be damaged.
WARNING: If any LEDs are illuminated when the socket
tester is inserted in a switched mains socket when switched
off contact an electrician immediately. This fault can have
major safety implications when using power tools and other
devices. It is recommended to replace the single-pole (SP)
switched mains socket with a double-pole (DP) type for
increased safety.

Maintenance
This product has no user-serviceable internal parts.
Disposal
