General Introduction
The Saramonic SmartRig UC with USB Type-C interface
is an easy solution to connect any professional micro-
phones or guitars to record quality audio or create
music with your USB Type-C devices.
Simply plug the microphone into the XLR connector or
plug the guitar into the 6.35mm connector of the
SmartRig UC, and connect it to your devices with the
USB Type-C output cable.
The provided gain control thumbwheel makes it easy to
set precise levels. Processed sound can be monitored
through a 3.5mm headphone out.

QUICK START GUIDE
1. Install a 9V battery. Gently slide out the battery
cover in the direction of the arrow at the back of
unit. Insert the battery with the “+” positive terminal
lined up with the “+” indicator on the battery
compartment.
2. Connect your microphone to the XLR jack or connect
your guitar to the 1/4’’ (6.35mm) jack of SmartRig UC.
3. Connect the SmartRig UC to your device’s USB
Type-C interface.
4. Download a recording application.
5. Turn on the SmartRig UC. Slide the power switch to
the ON position. The green LED will light.
6. If your microphone needs phantom power, please
slide the power switch to the +48V position. The red
and green LEDs will light at the same time.
7. You are now ready to record by the microphone or
guitar on your USB Type-C device. Adjust the GAIN
control flexibly to get the the optimum signal levels.
Check the input level meter on the app.
8. Connect your headphone to the headphone jack to
monitor the recording.
Note: Headphone monitor function depends on the
application you are using.
Tips
• Be careful not to turn the phantom power ON when
recording with microphones that do not operate on
phantom power, as the current may damage it.
• Please set the GAIN properly during recording.
Audio recording will be distorted if the GAIN is too
high or too low.
• If you hear echoes when using high GAIN settings,
please lower the device volume with the volume
button.
Compatibility
Compatible with USB Type-C devices (Except GoPro
USB Type-C).
Any type of microphones: Dynamic, Ribbon, or
Condenser.
Any musical instruments with a 6.35mm connector.
