- Vergewissern Sie sich, dass das GerÀteventil vor Arbeitsbeginn
geschlossen ist.
- Vergewissern Sie sich, dass die Dichtung am Regelventil nicht
beschÀdigt oder verloren gegangen ist. Gegebenenfalls ist die
Dichtung zu ersetzen.
- Die Gewinde an der Druckgaspackung und am Regelventil
sind Rechtsgewinde.Schrauben Sie die Druckgaspackung im
Uhrzeigersinn handfest in das Regelventil so dass die Verbindung
dicht ist. Halten Sie dazu die Druckgaspackung senkrecht.
ACHTUNG: Benutzen Sie fĂŒr diese Verbindung kein
Werkzeug!
- ÜberprĂŒfen Sie die Dichtheit Ihres GerĂ€tes.
INBETRIEBNAHME
ENTZÜNDEN UND EINSTELLEN DES BRENNERS
BEENDIGUNG DER ARBEITEN – ABSTELLEN DES BRENNERS
ACHTUNG:
EntzĂŒnden Sie den Brenner nur im Freien bzw. in gut
belĂŒfteten RĂ€umen!
Das GerÀt immer von Personen und Tieren entfernt
halten!
ACHTUNG:
Das GerĂ€t wĂ€hrend der Verwendung nicht schĂŒtteln oder
in waagrechte Position bringen, da sich sonst eine sehr
starke Flamme entwickeln kann.
- Das GerÀteventil/Regelventil mit dem Einstellknopf (5) im
Gegenuhrzeigersinn öffnen.
- EntzĂŒnden Sie nun sofort das Gas durch drĂŒcken des Piezo-
ZĂŒndknopfes am VerlĂ€ngerungsrohr des GerĂ€tes.
Richtung die Leistung des GerÀtes so einstellen, dass eine volle/
satte Flamme erreicht wird.
- Das GerÀt immer nach unten halten (max. 45°), um eine lodernde
Flamme zu vermeiden.
- Bei Arbeitsunterbrechungen das GerĂ€teventil stets schließen,
damit die Flamme erlischt und somit keine Gefahr darstellen
kann.
- Nach Gebrauch zuerst das GerĂ€teventil schließen.
- GerÀt aber noch so lange verwenden bzw. nicht ablegen bis die
restliche Gasmenge aus dem VerlÀngerungsrohr verbraucht ist.
- Nach dem Erlöschen der Flamme das GerĂ€t abkĂŒhlen lassen,
da gewisse GerĂ€teteile bereits ab kurzem Gebrauch sehr heiß
werden können.
ACHTUNG: ZugĂ€ngige Teile können sehr heiß sein.
Kleinkinder vom GerÀt fernhalten.
ACHTUNG: Nur im abgekĂŒhlten Zustand demontieren
und verpacken!
AUSWECHSELN DER DRUCKGASPACKUNG
- Das GerÀteventil mit dem Einstellknopf (5) im Uhrzeigersinn
schließen.
- GerÀt aber noch so lange verwenden bzw. nicht ablegen bis die
restliche Gasmenge aus dem VerlÀngerungsrohr verbraucht ist.
ACHTUNG:
ZugĂ€ngige Teile können sehr heiß sein. Kleinkinder vom
GerÀt fernhalten.
ACHTUNG:
Wechseln Sie die Druckgaspackung nur im Freien bzw. in
gut belĂŒfteten RĂ€umen!
- Die verbrauchte Druckgaspackung gegen den Uhrzeigersinn
vom Regelventil abschrauben.
- Vergewissern Sie sich dass das GerÀteventil immer noch
geschlossen ist.
- Vergewissern Sie sich dass die Dichtung am Regelventil nicht
beschÀdigt oder verloren gegangen ist. Gegebenenfalls ist die
Dichtung zu ersetzen.
- Schrauben Sie die neue Druckgaspackung im Uhrzeigersinn
handfest in das Regelventil so dass die Verbindung dicht ist.
Halten Sie dazu die Druckgaspackung senkrecht.
ACHTUNG:
Benutzen Sie fĂŒr diese Verbindung kein Werkzeug!
- ÜberprĂŒfen Sie die Dichtheit Ihres GerĂ€tes.
LAGER- UND TRANSPORTBEDINGUNGEN
ACHTUNG:
Nicht in Reichweite von Kindern aufbewahren.
- Bei lĂ€ngeren Pausen oder fĂŒr den Transport mit Fahrzeugen ist
die Druckgaspackung zu entfernen.
- Vergewissern Sie sich dazu, dass das GerÀteventil geschlossen
ist.
- In senkrechter Haltung die Druckgaspackung gegen den
Uhrzeigersinn abschrauben.
- Das UnkrautvertilgungsgerÀt und die Druckgaspackung an
einem kĂŒhlen, trockenen und gut belĂŒfteten Ort aufbewahren.
- Die Druckgaspackung vor Sonneneinstrahlung schĂŒtzen und nie
einer Temperatur ĂŒber 50°C aussetzen.
- Die Druckgaspackung nach Gebrauch nicht durchstoßen oder
verbrennen.
- Die Druckgaspackung „multigas 300“ ist nicht wieder befĂŒllbar
und ist nach Verbrauch sachgemĂ€ĂŸ zu entsorgen.
WARTUNG / INSTANDHALTUNG
GrundsÀtzlich ist das GerÀt Wartungsfrei! Bringen Sie das GerÀt bei einem Betriebsfehler zu einem kompetenten Fachmann, oder setzen
Sie sich mit dem Hersteller in Verbindung.
ERSETZEN DER DICHTUNG (4):
- Die beschÀdigte Dichtung des GerÀtes von deren Sitz entfernen.
- Die neue Dichtung in den Sitz legen, indem man mit einem
flachen Gegenstand (z.B. Schlitz-Schraubendreher) auf den
Rand drĂŒckt, ohne die Dichtung dabei zu beschĂ€digen.
ÜBERPRÜFEN DES FÜLLSTANDES DER
DRUCKGASPACKUNG:
- Die Druckgaspackung vom Regelventil abschrauben.
- Schutzkappe auf das Gewindeventil der Druckgaspackung
montieren.
- SchĂŒtteln Sie die Druckgaspackung, um festzustellen, ob das
GerĂ€usch des FlĂŒssiggases noch hörbar ist.
Nicht mehr gebrauchsfÀhige GerÀte zum Recyceln bei einer Wertstoffsammelstelle abgeben. Nicht mit dem
HausmĂŒll entsorgen.

BEFORE CONNECTING THE GAS CARTRIDGE
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Important: Read and understand the safety and operating
instructions in this manual completely before you use the
device. Keep this manual in a safe place for future reference.
Failure to observe the instructions in the manual can lead to
serious injury and may invalidate the guarantee.
Do not modify the device or change any settings made by the
manufacturer. It can be dangerous to modify the device, to
remove parts or to use parts other than those specified by the
manufacturer.
- Important: This device may only be used with the
ROTHENBERGER „multigas 300“ disposable propane / butane
gas cartridge.
- It can be dangerous to connect the burner to other types of
gas cartridge.
- Use only approved replacement parts.
- Never connect a gas cartridge to the device without first reading
the instructions printed on the gas cartridge.
- Before connecting the gas cartridge ensure that the seal between
the device and the cartridge is intact.
- Never use the device if the seal is is damaged or worn. Never
use the device if it is not airtight, damaged or does not function
properly.
- Do not connect a hose between the device and the gas cartridge.
- Never operate the device if any part is damaged.
- Gas cartridges may only be changed or connected in a well
ventilated location. Preferably outdoors and away from all
possible sources of ignition such as open flames, pilot lights,
electric cooking appliances and away from other persons.
- Always ensure that the regulator valve is shut before your connect
or change a gas cartridge.

OPERATING CONDITIONS
- The device may not be used underground.
- Do not use the device in the proximity of heat sources (radiators,
oven, open fires or similar).
- Use the device only outdoors or in well-ventilated rooms.
Observe applicable national regulations:
unburnt gas.
- Use the burner only well away from inflammable or oily materials.
Wear clothing which is clean and free of oil.
- Always close the regulator valve when you take a break from
work.
- The device may not be left unattended during operation as gas
can escape if the flame goes out. This is potentially dangerous.
- Always store the device out of the reach of children and prevent
children from gaining access to the device. Ensure that the
device can not fall from the location at which it is stored.
- If the device is cold or if the device is operated with a new gas
cartridge an irregular flame can be produced, which becomes
stable after a short while.
- To prevent the risk of burns, do not touch the burner after use,
even if the device has only been in use for a short while.
- Do not modify the device. Have any necessary repairs
performed by competent personnel.
WHAT TO DO IN CASE OF A LEAK
- If gas escapes from the device (smell of gas), take the device
outdoors immediately to a well-ventilated location away from
sources of ignition, where the leak can be safely detected and
repaired.
- Take the device outdoors before checking for leaks.
- Never check for leaks using a flame; always use a soapy solution
or a leak-detection spray!
- Identify the source or the leak by checking for bubbles or a
build-up of foam.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
SCOPE OF USE
This high-performance burner is ideal for warming, thawing,
burning off, welding and heat shrinking of foils, chemical free weed
killing and more.
Important: This device may only be used with the ROTHENBERGER
„multigas 300“ disposable propane / butane gas cartridge.
Due to the properties of the propane / butane mixture in the
„multigas 300“ gas cartridge, the burner is also ideal for thawing
and de-icing in winter.
Killing weeds using a burner is a non-toxic and environmentally
friendly way of eliminating unwanted foliage on paved pathways
etc. The device is not suitable for use on flower beds or lawns.
Weeds are heated from above with the flame and subsequently
dry out.
Guide the burner slowly over the weeds. The weeds should not
be burned, but heated with the tip of the flame for 5 - 8 seconds.
Keep an appropriate distance away from the plant - approximately
15 cm.
Thick weeds or weeds with ‘woody’ roots should be exposed to
the flame longer than ‘normal’ weeds. A second treatment may be
necessary after a few days.
CAUTION: A risk of fire exists if the ground is too dry!
It is dangerous to the device if it is damaged or faulty!

- Ensure that the valve is closed before you start work.
- Ensure that the seal in the regulator valve is intact and
undamaged. Replace the valve if necessary.
- The threads on the gas cartridge and the regulator valve are
right-handed. Screw the gas cartridge clockwise firmly into the
regulator valve so that the connection is air tight. Hold the gas
cartridge upright.
CAUTION: Do not use tools to connect the cartridge to
the valve!
- Ensure that the device is airtight.
USING THE DEVICE
LIGHTING AND EXTINGUISHING THE BURNER
FINISHING WORK - EXTINGUISHING THE FLAME
CAUTION:
Ignite the burner only outdoors or in well-ventilated
rooms!
Keep the device away from other persons and animals!
CAUTION:
Do not shake the device or hold it horizontally during use
as otherwise a very strong flame can be produced.
- Open the valve by turning the regulator knob (5) anti-clockwise.
- Ignite the gas immediately by pressing the Piezo ignition on the
the device’s extension tube.
- Rotate the regulator knob (5) towards the (+) plus or (-) minus
sign to adjust the output of the device until a full flame is
produced.
- The device must always be pointed downwards (max. 45°) to
prevent an irregular flame.
- Always close the valve during breaks to extinguish the flame
and prevent danger.
- Shut the valve after using the device.
- Be sure to burn off any gas remaining in the extension tube
before you put the device down.
- After the flame has gone out, allow the device to cool down
completely as parts of the device can become very hot even if
the device is only used for a short while.
CAUTION: Accessible parts can be very hot.
Keep small children away from the device.
CAUTION: The device must be allowed to cool down
completely before disassembly and packaging!
CHANGING GAS CARTRIDGES
- Shut the valve by turning the regulator knob (5) clockwise.
- Burn off any gas remaining in the extension tube before you
put the device down.
CAUTION:
Exposed parts can be very hot. Keep small children away
from the device.
CAUTION:
Change cartridges only outdoors or in well-ventilated
rooms!
- Unscrew the spent gas cartridge from the regulator valve by
turning it anti-clockwise.
- Ensure that the valve is closed.
- Ensure that the seal in the regulator valve is intact and
undamaged. Replace the seal if necessary.
- Screw the new gas cartridge clockwise into the regulator valve
until the seal is airtight. Hold the gas cartridge upright.
CAUTION:
Do not use tools to connect the cartridge to the valve!
- Ensure that the device is airtight.
STORAGE AND TRANSPORT
CAUTION:
Keep the device out of the reach of children.
- Unscrew the gas cartridge during longer breaks and during
transport in vehicles.
- Ensure that the valve is closed.
- Hold the device upright and unscrew the gas cartridge anti-
clockwise.
- Store the device and the gas cartridge in a cool, dry and well-
ventilated place.
- Protect the gas cartridge from sunlight and never expose the gas
cartridge to temperatures above 50°C.
- Do not pierce or burn the gas cartridge even after use.
- The „multigas 300“ gas cartridge is not refillable and must be
disposed of properly after use.
Maintenance
The device is maintenance-free. Have faulty devices repaired by a competent person or contact the manufacturer.
REPLACING THE SEAL (4):
- Remove the damaged seal from its seat.
- Insert the new seal into the seat by pressing it gently on the edge
with a blunt object (for example a slotted screwdriver). Take care
not to damage the seal.
CHECKING THE CONTENTS OF THE GAS CARTRIDGE:
- Unscrew the gas cartridge from the regulator valve.
- Put the protective cap on to the thread of the gas cartridge.
- Shake the gas cartridge to establish if liquefied gas can be heard
in the cartridge.
Worn out machines must be recycled at a suitable recycling facility. Do not dispose of in the household waste.
