SPECIFICATIONS: SURFACE MOUNT

1. Choose the Location: Ensure there are no obstructions behind the mounting area, such as wiring, windows, or window tracks.

2. Mark the Cutout: Position the provided cutout template on the mounting surface and trace its outline with a pencil or marker.

3. Cut the Opening: Drill a starter hole inside the traced outline. Use a jigsaw or hole saw to cut along traced line. Smooth any rough

edges.

4. Prepare Wiring: Pull the speaker wires through the cutout. If using the passive crossover, connect the crossover Molex to the

speaker basket. Otherwise, strip the wire ends and connect them to the speaker terminals (observe polarity: + and –).

5. Position the Grille: Note the Grille Mesh keyed alignment, as it is designed to snap together in a specific position. Place the

speaker into the Grille Bezel and position the assembly on the panel and position the notch on the bottom (). Secure the Fig. B

speaker using the provided screws. The base ring has slotted holes that allow you to slightly rotate it for proper grille alignment.

6. Attach the Grille: Align grille over the speaker, ensuring the grille logo is properly oriented, and snap into place (Fig. C).

7. Test the Installation: Power on the audio system and play audio to confirm proper operation and fit.

4. Install C-Backer: Holding the C-Backer, partially thread 30mm long screws into the 2 o’clock and 8 o’clock positions into the brass

inserts. Holding the screws with your fingers, maneuver the C-Backer through the cutout and position it in place.

5. Secure Metal Bezel:Align the slotted holes in the Metal Bezel over the 30mm long screws from the C-Backer, turn the Metal Bezel

slightly to align the keyhole slots (), then secure in place, sandwiching the two rings together. Install the two remaining long screws.Fig. A

6. Prepare Wiring: Pull the speaker wires through the cutout. If using the passive crossover, connect the crossover Molex to the speaker

basket. Otherwise, strip the wire ends and connect them to the speaker terminals (observe polarity: + and –).

7. Position Flange Locator Ring (GF-25/GF-35/GF-4/GF-525 with Twist-Lock flanges only): Place the Flange Locator Ring around the

speaker so the half-circles align with the half-circles in the speaker frame.

8. Secure the Speaker: Attach the speaker to the Metal Bezel with (4) shorter machine screws.

9. Attach Grille: Properly align the grille logo, then insert the Grille Mesh into the keyed-slots of the Metal Bezel. With the palm of your hand,

gently press the grille into place.

10. Test Installation: Power on the audio system and play audio to confirm proper operation and fit.

Who is Covered

This warranty covers only the original purchaser of Rockford product purchased from an Authorized Rockford Fosgate Dealer in the

United States. In order to receive service, the purchaser must provide Rockford with a copy of the receipt stating the customer name,

dealer name, product purchased, and date of purchase. Products found to be defective during the warranty period will be repaired or

replaced (with a product deemed to be equivalent) at Rockford’s discretion.

What is Not Covered

1. Damage caused by accident, abuse, improper operation,water, theft, or shipping.

2. Any cost or expense related to the removal or reinstallation of product.

3. Service performed by anyone other than Rockford or an Authorized Rockford Fosgate Service Center.

4. Any product which has had the serial number defaced, altered, or removed.

5. Subsequent damage to other components.

6. Any product purchased outside the U.S.

7. Any product not purchased from an Authorized Rockford Fosgate Dealer.

Limit on Implied Warranties

Any implied warranties including warranties of fitness for use and merchantability are limited in duration to the period of the express

warranty set forth above. Some states do not allow limitations on the length of an implied warranty, so this limitation may not apply. No

person is authorized to assume for Rockford Fosgate any other liability in connection with the sale of the product.

for Rockford Customer Service. You must obtain an RA# (Return Authorization number) to return any product to Rockford Fosgate. You

are responsible for shipment of product to Rockford.
