Wartung und Reinigung
Das Produkt ist für Sie wartungsfrei, zerlegen Sie es niemals.
Trennen Sie das Produkt vor einer Reinigung von der Stromversorgung (alle
Netzwerkverbindungen sind dadurch außer Funktion).
Staub kann sehr leicht mit einem sauberen, weichen Pinsel und einem Staubsauger entfernt
werden.
Verwenden Sie keine aggressiven Reinigungsmittel, dies kann zu Verfärbungen führen.
Drücken Sie beim Reinigen nicht zu stark auf die Oberäche, um Kratzspuren zu vermeiden.
Tipps & Hinweise
• Wenn Sie für Ihr Netzwerk einen eigenen Netzwerk- oder Systemadministrator haben (etwa
in einer größeren Firma), so lassen Sie IHN Anschluss und Verkabelung übernehmen,
schließen Sie den Netzwerk-Switch NICHT selbst an!
• Das Twisted-Pair-Kabel (auch als Patch-Kabel bezeichnet) zwischen Netzwerk-Switch und
dem anzuschließenden Gerät darf maximal je 100m lang sein. Verwenden Sie ausschließlich
mindestens sog. CAT5e-Kabel, die voll beschaltet sind (alle 8 Kontakte der RJ45-Stecker
sind 1:1 verbunden).
• Die maximale theoretische Datenübertragungsrate von 10, 100 bzw. 1000MBit/s wird in der
Praxis nicht erreicht (z.B. 1000MBit = ca. 125MByte/s). Bei der Datenübertragung über das
Netzwerk sind nicht nur Daten zu übertragen, sondern auch Protokollinformationen usw.,
Datenpakete müssen wiederholt werden oder mehrere Rechner wollen gleichzeitig Daten
übertragen. Weiterhin müssen z.B. Daten von in einem Computer von der Festplatte gelesen
und auf einem anderen auf die Festplatte geschrieben werden.
• Wird der Netzwerk-Switch nicht mit Strom versorgt, sind alle Anschlüsse außer Betrieb, eine
Netzwerkverbindung ist nicht möglich.
• Die zum jeweiligen RJ45-Port gehörige Link/Act-LED leuchtet bei bestehender
Netzwerkverbindung bzw. blinkt bei Datenübertragung. Die Power-LED leuchtet, wenn der
Netzwerk-Switch mit Strom versorgt wird.
Entsorgung
Elektrische und elektronische Geräte gehören nicht in den Hausmüll.
Entsorgen Sie das Produkt am Ende seiner Lebensdauer gemäß den geltenden
gesetzlichen Bestimmungen.

Bestimmungsgemäße Verwendung
Das Produkt dient zur kabelgebundenen Vernetzung von Computern oder anderen dafür
geeigneten Geräte. Es stellt dabei 4 Twisted-Pair-Anschlüsse (RJ45) zur Verfügung.
Die Stromversorgung erfolgt über USB; ein passendes Kabel bendet sich im Lieferumfang.
Alternativ kann auch ein externes Steckernetzteil verwendet werden (nicht im Lieferumfang,
getrennt bestellbar).
Die Sicherheitshinweise und alle anderen Informationen dieser Bedienungsanleitung sind
unbedingt zu beachten.

Inbetriebnahme, Anschluss
• Falls gewünscht, bringen Sie an der Unterseite entweder die mitgelieferten Gummifüße oder
die Magneten an.
• Verbinden Sie die runde Niederspannungsbuchse des Switches über das mitgelieferte USB-
Stromkabel mit einem USB-Port Ihres Computers oder USB-Hubs.
Der USB-Port muss ein sog. High-Power-USB-Port sein, der einen Strom von 500
mA liefern kann. Dies ist z.B. der USB-Port eines Computers oder eines USB-Hubs
mit eigenem Netzteil.
Der USB-Port einer Tastatur oder eines USB-Hubs ohne Netzteil liefert zu wenig
Strom, der Switch kann hier nicht betrieben werden!
Alternativ zu dem mitgelieferten USB-Stromkabel kann auch ein geeignetes Steckernetzteil
verwendet werden (nicht im Lieferumfang, getrennt bestellbar). Dieses muss eine
Ausgangsspannung von 5 V/DC und einen Strom von mindestens 500 mA liefern. Der
runde Niederspannungsstecker muss einen Außendurchmesser von 3,5 mm und einen
Innendurchmesser von 1,3 mm haben. Achten Sie auf die richtige Polarität des Steckers:
Der Außenkontakt ist der Minuspol (-) und der Innenkontakt der Pluspol (+).
• Die RJ45-Anschlüsse des Netzwerk-Switches sind über geeignete Netzwerkkabel (Cat5e
empfohlen) mit den entsprechenden RJ45-Buchsen der Netzwerkkarten (oder einem
anderen Netzwerk-Switch) zu verbinden.
Der hier gelieferte Netzwerk-Switch besitzt an jedem Port eine automatische
Uplink-Erkennung, was eine ganz besonders einfache Verkabelung zu anderen
Switches ermöglicht. Es ist kein Cross-Link-Kabel mehr nötig, sondern es kann ein
herkömmliches 1:1 verbundenes Netzwerkkabel verwendet werden.

The product is intended for cable-based networking of computers or other devices suitable for
the purpose. 4 twisted-pair connections (RJ45) are available.
Power is supplied via USB; an appropriate cable is included in the delivery. Alternatively, an
external power adapter may be used as well (not included in the delivery, can be ordered
separately).

• Do not leave packing materials unattended. They may become dangerous
playthings for children.
• Handle the product with care, it can be damaged by impacts, blows, or accidental
drops, even from a low height.
Getting Started, Connection
• If desired, attach either the rubber feet or the magnets included in the delivery to the bottom.
• Connect the low-voltage socket of the switch to a USB port of your computer or to a USB hub
using the USB power cable provided.
The USB port must be a so-called high-power USB port, which can supply a current
of 500 mA. This is e.g. the USB port of a computer or a USB hub with an inherent
power supply.
The USB port of a keyboard or a USB hub without power adapter does not supply
enough current; the switch cannot be used here!
Alternatively to the provided USB power cable, an external power adapter may be used as
well (not included in the delivery, can be ordered separately). This has to supply an output
voltage of +5 V/DC and current of at least 500 mA. The round low-voltage plug must have an
external diameter of 3.5 mm and an internal diameter of 1.3 mm. Observe the correct polarity
of the plug. The outside contact is the negative pole (-), the inside contact is the positive pole
(+).
• The RJ45 connections of the network switch must be connected to the appropriate RJ45
socket of the network cards (or another network switch) using suitable network cables.
The network switch supplied has automatic uplink recognition for each port, which
allows for particularly simple wiring to other switches. A cross-link cable is no longer
required; you can use a conventional 1:1 connected network cable.
Maintenance and Cleaning
The product does not require any maintenance and should never be disassembled for any
reason.
Disconnect the product from the power supply before cleaning (all network connections are
put out of operation).
Dust can easily be removed using a clean, soft brush and a vacuum cleaner.
Do not use aggressive cleaning agents as these can cause discolouration.
Do not press too strongly on the surface to prevent scratch marks.
Tips & Notes
• If you have your own network or system administrator for your network (as will probably be
the case in a larger company), please let this person assume the responsibility for connection
and wiring. Do not connect the network switch yourself!
• The twisted-pair cable (also called a patch cable) between the network switch and the device
to be connected should have a max. length of 100m. Use only so-called CAT5e cables that
are fully wired (all 8 contacts of the RJ45 connector are connected 1:1).
• The maximum theoretical data transfer rate of 10, 100 or 1000MBit/s is usually not achieved
in practice (e.g. 1000MBit = approx. 125MByte/s) During data transmission, not only data,
but also protocol information etc is transmitted, data packages must be repeated or different
computers may want to transmit data at the same time. Furthermore, the data for example
may need to be read off the hard disk of one computer and written onto the hard disk of
another computer.
• If the network switch is not supplied with power, all the connections will be out of operation. A
network connection is not possible.
• The link/Act LED corresponding to each RJ45 port is illuminated during an active network
connection and ashes during data transfer. The power LED is illuminated when the network
switch is supplied with power.
Disposal
Electrical and electronic products do not belong in the household waste!
Dispose of the unserviceable product according to the relevant statutory regulations!

Entretien et nettoyage
Le produit ne nécessite aucune maintenance. Ne le démontez jamais.
Avant tout nettoyage, coupez le produit de l’alimentation électrique (dans ce cas, toutes les
liaisons réseau sont hors service).
Vous pouvez éliminer les poussières à l’aide d’un pinceau souple et propre, et d’un aspirateur.
N’utilisez pas de détergents agressifs. Ces derniers pourraient causer une décoloration de
l’appareil.
Lors du nettoyage, n’appuyez pas trop fort sur la surface an d’éviter de créer des rayures.
Conseils et indications
• Si vous disposez pour votre réseau de votre propre administrateur réseau ou système
(notamment dans une grande entreprise), conez-LUI le montage et le câblage, NE
raccordez PAS vous-même le switch réseau !
• Le câble à paire torsadée (également appelé câble Patch) entre le switch réseau et l’appareil
à raccorder ne doit pas dépasser 100 m. Utiliser exclusivement au moins des câbles dits
CAT5e entièrement câblés (tous les 8 contacts des connecteurs RJ45 reliés 1:1).
• n’est pas atteint dans la pratique (par ex. 1000 MBit = environ 125 MByte/s). Lors de la
transmission des données par le réseau, non seulement des données sont à transférer, mais
aussi des informations de protocole, etc., des paquets de données doivent être répétés ou
encore plusieurs ordinateurs veulent transmettre simultanément des données. En outre, les
données sur le disque dur d’un ordinateur par ex. doivent être lues et écrites sur le disque
dur d’un autre ordinateur.
• Si le switch réseau n’est pas alimenté en courant, toutes les connexions sont hors service,
une connexion au réseau n’est pas possible.
• La LED Link/Act du port RJ45 correspondant est allumée quand la connexion réseau est
active et clignote pendant le transfert de données. La LED «Power» est allumée, quand le
switch réseau est alimenté en courant.
Élimination
Les appareils électriques et électroniques ne doivent pas être jetés dans les
poubelles ordinaires.
Jetez l’appareil devenu inutilisable suivant les lois en vigueur.

Mise en service / Branchement
• Si vous le souhaitez, vous pouvez coller soit les pieds en caoutchouc fournis, soit les aimants
sur la face inférieure du boîtier.
• Au moyen du câble électrique USB fourni, reliez la douille basse tension ronde du switch à
un port USB libre de votre ordinateur ou concentrateur USB.
Le port USB doit être un port USB dit High power pouvant fournir un courant de 500
mA. Cela peut être un port USB d’un ordinateur par ex. ou d’un concentrateur USB
avec son propre bloc d’alimentation.
Le port USB d’un clavier ou d’un concentrateur USB sans bloc d’alimentation
autonome ne fournit pas sufsamment de courant. Le switch ne peut pas être utilisé
dans ce cas.
Au lieu du câble électrique USB fourni, il est possible également d’utiliser un bloc d’alimentation
approprié (non compris dans l’étendue de la fourniture, à commander séparément). Celui-ci
doit fournir une tension de sortie 5 V/DC et un courant minimal de 500 mA. Le connecteur
basse tension rond doit avoir un diamètre extérieur de 3,5 mm et un diamètre intérieur de 1,3
mm. S’assurer de la polarité correcte du connecteur : Le contact extérieur est le pôle négatif
(-), le contact intérieur est le pôle positif (+).
• Les connexions RJ45 du switch réseau doivent être reliées par des câbles réseau appropriés
(Cat5e recommandé) aux douilles RJ45 correspondantes des cartes réseau (ou d’un autre
switch réseau).
Le switch réseau fourni possède une détection Uplink automatique pour chaque
port, ce qui facilite le câblage avec d’autres switches. Le câble Cross-Link n’est plus
nécessaire, il est possible d’utiliser un câble réseau conventionnel 1:1.
