Thank you for purchasing a Mellerware product. Mellerware guarantees
that your product has been thoroughly inspected and tested before being
dispatched and is free from mechanical or electrical defects and complies
with the applicable safety standards. With every Mellerware product
purchased you will receive up to a 3 year warranty as detailed in the terms
and conditions below.
FIRST YEAR 1 YEAR RETAIL WARRANTY
domestic use, within 12 months from the original date of purchase please
return the product to the store from where it was purchased for a refund
or replacement at the discretion of the brand. Mellerware appliances are
intended for domestic use only and not for industrial or professional use.
The Warranty, if the product is used outside of domestic use or used in a
commercial environment, is reduced to 3 months with no extended war-
ranty available, all other terms and conditions applicable.
SECOND YEAR OPTIONAL 1 YEAR ADDITIONAL EXTENDED
ONLINE WARRANTY REGISTRATION

better condition, if the repair cannot be conducted for whatever reason.
Should the product fall outside of the warranty, Mellerware will produce a
repair and delivery quotation for your approval.

COMMUNICATION OPT IN WARRANTY
Mellerware takes pride in its product quality and therefore offer an addi-
tional 12 month warranty over and above the 1 Year Retail and 1 year
online registration warranty. Should defects due to faulty material or
workmanship develop, under normal domestic use, after the initial 12 month
period, the extended online registration 12 month period and within 36
months from the original date of purchase, please return the product to
Mellerware for repair. Mellerware will assess and repair the product free of
charge should it be found to be a valid warranty claim and will return it to
you directly. Mellerware will replace a product with a similar product in the
same or better condition, if the repair cannot be conducted for whatever
reason. Should the product fall outside of the warranty, Mellerware will
produce a repair and delivery quotation for your approval.

third year extended warranty, you would need to have registered your

to receive brand communication. The extended warranty is conditional
upon these requirements. Please note that you are however free to opt
out at any stage in accordance with the POPI act, this will however result
in you forfeiting this additional extended “communication opt in” warranty
from the recorded opt-out date.
Before returning your product, check the following:
Your household mains supply socket is in good condition, working and
switched on.
The mains supply circuit is not overloaded (white trip switch on your
DB board is off).
You have read the trouble shooting guide in your Instructions for Use.
All accessories and parts are present.
The following conditions apply:
1. Please ensure you retain your original receipt as this must be
presented when making a claim under the terms of the warranty.
It is impossible to determine the warranty period without proof of
purchase, so please keep this in a safe place. (NB. Your original receipt
can be scanned onto the Mellerware website [www.mellerware.co.za]
or Creative Housewares (Pty) Ltd [www.creativehousewares.co.za]
for safe storage.)
2. If a refund or exchange is required the product must be complete
with all accessories, parts and packaging. Missing parts will render the
warranty void. Any refund or exchange remains at the brands discre-
tion beyond the implied warranty granted by the CPA.
3. Upon receipt of your appliance, check it for any transport damage to
ensure it is safe for use. Return it to the store as soon as possible for
exchange if damaged. The warranty is void if products are damaged
after use, so please do not use a damaged product.
4. Any alteration made to the appliance purchased will void the warranty.
5. Your product is designed for normal domestic household use. Failure
to read and comply with the instructions for use, cleaning and
maintenance will render your warranty void, so please read these
instructions carefully to ensure your safety, and to get the most effec-
tive use from the product (e.g. not removing limescale; water deposits;
insect infestation, and/or burnt products).
6. Any abuse, negligent, improper or accidental use or care will render
the warranty void and Creative Housewares (Pty) Ltd will not be
liable for any loss or damage.

Repairs out of the warranty period:
If service or repair becomes necessary outside the warranty period, this
service is still available however all transport/postage, spares and labour
costs will be for the customers account. All chargeable repairs will require
the customers written acceptance of the quote. Once the go-ahead has
been received Mellerware will undertake to conduct the repair within a

2. Safety advice and warnings!
Read these instructions carefully before switching on the appliance
and keep them for future reference. Failiure to follow and observe
these instructions could lead to an accident. Clean all the parts
of the product that will be in contact with food, as indicated in the
cleaning section, before use.
2.1. Use or working environment.
2.1.1. Keep the working area clean and well lit. Cluttered and dark
areas invite accidents.
2.1.2. Use the appliance in a well ventilated area.
2.1.3. Do not place the appliance on hot surfaces, such as cooking
plates, gas burners, ovens or similar items.
2.1.4. Keep children and bystanders away when using this
appliance.
2.1.5. Place the appliance on a horizontal, flat, stable surface suit-
able for withstanding high temperatures and away from other heat
sources and contact with water.
2.1.6. Keep the appliance away from flammable material such as
textiles, curtains, cardboard or paper, etc.
2.1.7. Do not place flammable material near the appliance.
2.1.8. Do not use the appliance in association with a programmer,
timer or other device that automatically switches it on.
2.1.9. Do not use the appliance if the cable or plug is damaged.
2.1.10. Ensure that the voltage indicated on the rating label
matches the mains power supply voltage before plugging in the
appliance.
2.1.11. Connect the appliance to the mains power supply with an
earth socket withstanding a minimum of 10 amperes.
2.1.12. The appliance’s plug must fit into the mains power supply
socket properly. Do not alter the plug.
2.1.13. If using a multi plug check ratings carefully as the current
used by several appliances could easily exceed the rating of the
multi plug.
2.1.14. If any of the appliance casings breaks, immediately discon-
nect the appliance from the mains power supply to prevent the
possibility of an electric shock.
2.1.15. Do not use the appliance if it has fallen on the floor or if
there are visible signs of damage.
2.1.16. Do not force the power cord. Never use the power cord to
lift up, carry or unplug the appliance.
2.1.17. Do not wrap the power cord around the appliance.
2.1.18. Do not clip or crease the power cord.
2.1.19. Do not allow the power cord to hang or to come into
contact with the hot surfaces of the appliance.
2.1.20. Check the state of the power cord. Damaged or tangled
cables increase the risk of electric shock.
2.1.21. The appliance is not suitable for outdoor use.
2.1.22. Power cord should be regularly examined for signs of dam-
age, and if the cord is damaged, the appliance must not be used.
2.1.23. Do not touch the plug with wet hands.
2.2. Personal safety:
2.2.1. CAUTION: Do not leave the appliance unattended during use
as there is a risk of an accident.
2.2.2. Do not touch the heated parts of the appliance, as it may
cause serious burns.
2.2.3. This appliance is only for domestic use, not for industrial or
professional use. It is not intended to be used by guests in hospi-
tality environments such as bed and breakfast, hotels, motels, and
other types of residential environments, even in farm houses, areas
of the kitchen staff in shops, offices and other work environments.
2.2.4. This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including
children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or
lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given
supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a
person responsible for their safety.
2.2.5. This appliance is not a toy. Children should be supervised to
ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
2.3. Use and care:
2.3.1. Fully unroll the appliance’s power cable before each use.
2.3.2. Do not use the appliance if the parts or accessories are not
properly fitted.
2.3.3. Do not use the appliance when empty.
2.3.4. Do not turn the appliance over while it is in use or connected
to the mains power supply.
2.3.5. Do not cover the cooking surface or food with aluminium foil
and other similar materials.
2.3.6. Unplug the appliance from the mains power supply when not
in use and before undertaking any cleaning task.
2.3.7. This appliance should be stored out of reach of children.
2.3.8. Do not store the appliance if it is still hot.
2.3.9. Never leave the appliance unattended when in use and keep
out of the reach of children.
2.3.10. If, for some reason, the appliance were to catch fire,
disconnect the appliance from the mains power supply and DO
NOT USE WATER TO PUT THE FIRE OUT.
2.4. Service:
2.4.1. Make sure that the appliance is serviced only by suitably
qualified technician, and that only original
spare parts or accessories are used to replace existing parts/
accessories.
2.4.2. If the power cord is damaged, the manufacturer or its
service agent or a similarly qualified person must replace it in order
to avoid a hazard.
2.4.3. Any misuse or failure to follow the instructions for use
renders the guarantee and the manufacturer’s liability null and void.
3. Instructions for use:
3.1. Before use:
3.1.1. Remove the appliance’s protective film(if applicable).
3.1.2. Before using the product for the first time, clean the parts
that will come into contact with food in the manner described in
the cleaning section.
3.2. Use and care:
3.2.1. Fully extend the appliance’s power cable before each use.
3.2.2. Do not use the appliance if its accessories are not properly
fitted.
3.2.3. Do not use the appliance if the accessories attached to it are
defective. Replace them immediately.
3.2.4. Do not use the appliance when empty.
3.2.5. Do not start the appliance without first filling the oil lid.
3.2.6. Do not move the appliance while in use.
3.2.7. Do not move the appliance whilst in operation or if the oil is
still hot. Once cooled, transport the appliance using the handles.
3.2.8. Do not use the appliance if it is tipped up and do not turn
it over.
3.2.9. Do not turn the appliance over while it is in use or connected
to the mains.
3.2.10. Do not force the appliance’s work capacity.
3.2.11. Respect the MAX and MIN levels.
3.2.12. Disconnect the appliance from the mains when not in use
and before undertaking any cleaning task.
3.2.13. Store this appliance out of reach of children and/or persons
with physical, sensory or reduced mental or lack of experience
and knowledge.
3.2.14. Do not store or transport the appliance if it is still hot.
3.2.15. Never leave the appliance connected and unattended if is
not in use. This saves energy and prolongs the life of the appliance.
3.2.16. Never leave the appliance unattended when in use and keep
out of the reach of children, as this is an electrical appliance that
heats oil to high temperatures and may cause serious burns.
3.2.17. If, for some reason, the oil was to catch fire, disconnect
the appliance from the mains and smother the fire using the lid, a
cover or a large kitchen cloth. NEVER WITH WATER.
3.2.18. Turn the thermostat control to the minimum (MIN) setting.
This does not mean that the iron is switched off permanently.
4. Use:
4.1. Oil filling:
4.1.1. Open the cover
4.1.2. Ensure that the electrical equipment is appropriately
positioned.
4.1.3. Pour oil up to the mark indicating the MAXIMUM level on
the bowl
4.1.4. The appliance must not be used with less oil than that
indicated by the MINIMAL mark.
4.2. Using the deep fryer
4.2.1. Extend the cable completely before plugging it in.
4.2.2. Connect the appliance to the mains.
4.2.3. REMOVE the lid. This fryer is not designed to fry with the
lid on.
4.2.4. Remove the basket and attach the handle by pivoting until
the rods engage in the housing.
4.2.5. The pilot light (D) comes on.
4.2.6. Select the desired frying temperature using the thermostat
control. The indicator light (E) will turn on, indicating that the oil is
being heated (close the lid to save energy).
4.2.7. Prepare the food to be fried and place it in the basket,
making sure that it does not rise above ¾ of its capacity. Allow the
food to drain before
placing it in the basket.
4.2.8. Frozen food must be allowed for thaw beforehand.
4.2.9. The placing of frozen food or food with high water content in
the basket may cause the oil to suddenly spit after a few seconds.
4.2.10. Wait until the pilot light (E) has gone out which will indi-
cate that the appliance has reached an adequate temperature.

4.2.12. When the food has been fried sufficiently, lift the basket
and position it in the support in order to allow the excess oil to
drain from the food.
4.2.13. Empty the basket.
4.2.14. Change the oil approximately every 15 or 20 frying opera-
tions, or every 5 – 6 months if not used frequently.
4.2.15. In order to minimize the generation of acrylamide during
the frying process, avoid to reach dark brown colours on the
fried food, remove any burnt leftovers from the oil container, food
rich in starch (such as potatoes or corns) should not be fried at
temperatures higher to 170ºC.
4.3. Oil draining position:
When the food has been fried sufficiently, remove the lid, lift the
basket and hang it with the hook in the tank in order to allow drain-
ing the excess of oil from the food.
4.4.Once you have finished using the appliance:
4.4.1. Select the minimum position (MIN) using the
thermostat control and allow appliance to cool down.
4.4.2. Unplug the appliance from the mains power supply.
4.4.3. Clean the appliance as described in the cleaning section.
4.4.4. Close the lid.
4.5. Carry handle/s:
This appliance has a handle on the upper part of the body, which
facilitates comfortable transportation.
4.6. Practical recommendations:
4.6.1. Fry a few pieces of bread to remove the smell of used oil.
4.6.2. For food with a high-water content, it is better and quicker to
fry in two lots with less food than in just one. This will reduce the
risk of splashes and spillage.
4.6.3. The “two-stage frying method” can be used for an even and
crispy coating. This system con¬sists of first frying the food until
it is reasonably well done and then frying again using very hot oil
to brown the food.
4.6.4. Olive oil with a minimum acidity level is recommendable
for frying.
4.6.5. Do not mix different oils.
4.6.6. Wash potatoes before frying to stop them from sticking.
4.7. Safety thermal protector:
In the event of overheating, the thermal safety mechanism will be
activated, and the appliance will stop operating. When this occurs,
the appliance should be disconnected from the mains and left
of the electrical circuit, with the tip of a pen or similar in order to
reactivate the appliance.
5. Cleaning:
5.1. Disconnect the appliance from the mains and allow it to cool
before undertaking any cleaning task.
5.2. Dismantle the appliance as follows:
- Take off the lid
- Remove the basket and take out the electrical equipment
- Remove the tank
5.3. Carefully pour the used oil from the bowl into a container (not
the sink), according to the regulations in force for the treatment
and disposal of waste.
5.4. Except for the power unit and the mains connection, all the
parts can be cleaned with detergent and water or in washing up
liquid. Rinse thoroughly to remove all traces of detergent .
5.5. Clean the electrical equipment and the mains connection
with a damp cloth and dry. DO NOT IMMERSE IN WATER OR ANY
OTHER LIQUID.
5.6. Clean the equipment using a damp cloth with a few drops of
washing-up liquid and then dry.
5.7. Do not use solvents, or products with an acid or base pH
such as bleach, or abrasive products, for cleaning the appliance.
5.8. Do not submerge the appliance in water or any other liquid,
or place it under a running tap.
5.9. If the appliance is not in good condition of cleanliness, its
surface may degrade and inexorably affect the duration of the
appliance’s useful life and could become unsafe to use.
5.10. The following parts are suitable for cleaning in hot soapy
water or in a dishwasher (using a soft cleaning program): Basket,
Lid, Tank and Body
6. Anomalies and repair:
6.1. Take the appliance to an authorised support centre if product
is damaged or other problems arise.
6.2. If the connection to the mains has been damaged, it must
be replaced and you should proceed as you would in the case
of damage.
7. Recycling
7.1. These electrical products, cables, batteries, packaging, and
the manual, should not be mixed with general household waste.
For proper recycling, please take these products to your nearest
Creative Housewares office where they will be accepted for
recycling free of charge.
7.2. Alternatively, please contact your local authority or household
waste disposal service for further details of your nearest
designated collection point. Correct product disposal saves
resources and prevents negative effects on human health and
the environment.

2. Veiligheidsadvies en waarskuwings!
Lees hierdie instruksies sorgvuldig deur voordat u die toestel aan-

olie uit die kos te laat dreineer.
4.4. Nadat jy klaar is met die gebruik van die toestel:
4.4.1. Kies die minimum posisie (MIN) deur die termostaatbeheer
te gebruik en laat die toestel afkoel.
4.4.2. Ontkoppel die toestel van die hoofkragtoevoer.
4.4.3. Maak die toestel skoon soos beskryf in die skoonmaakaf-
deling.
4.4.4. Maak die deksel toe.
4.5. Drahandvatsel/s:
Hierdie toestel het ‘n handvatsel op die boonste deel van die
liggaam, wat gerieflike vervoer moontlik maak.
4.6. Praktiese aanbevelings:
4.6.1. Braai ‘n paar stukke brood om die reuk van gebruikte olie
te verwyder.
4.6.2. Vir kos met ‘n hoë waterinhoud is dit beter en vinniger om
in twee keer met minder kos te braai as om dit alles in een keer te
doen. Dit sal die risiko van spat en mors verminder.
4.6.3. Die “twee-fase braaimetode” kan gebruik word vir ‘n
die kos te braai totdat dit redelik gaar is en dit dan weer te braai
met baie warm olie om die kos bruin te maak.
4.6.4. Olyfolie met ‘n minimum suurheidsvlak word aanbeveel
vir braai.
4.6.5. Moet nie verskillende olies meng nie.
4.6.6. Was aartappels voor die braai om te voorkom dat hulle
vaskyk.
4.7. Veiligheidstermale beskerming:
In die geval van oorverhitting sal die termiese veiligheidsmegan-
isme geaktiveer word, en die toestel sal ophou werk. Wanneer
dit gebeur, moet die toestel van die hoofkrag afgekoppel word en
afgekoel word. Druk dan die herstelknoppie (P), wat agter in die
elektriese sirkuit geleë is, met die punt van ‘n pen of soortgelyk
om die toestel te heraktiveer.
5. Skoonmaak:
5.1. Ontkoppel die toestel van die hoofkrag en laat dit afkoel
voordat enige skoonmaakwerk aangepak word.
5.2. Monteer die toestel as volg:
- Verwyder die deksel
- Haal die mandjie af en neem die elektriese toerusting uit
- Verwyder die tenk
5.3. Gooi die gebruikte olie versigtig uit die bak in ‘n houer (nie die
wasbak nie), in ooreenstemming met die geldende regulasies vir
die behandeling en wegdoen van afval.
5.4. Behalwe vir die kragunit en die hoofaansluiting, kan al die

5.5. Skoon die elektriese toerusting en die hoofaansluiting met ‘n

3. Instruksies vir gebruik:
3.1. Voor gebruik:
3.1.1. Verwyder alle verpakking material voor gebruik.
3.1.2. Voor die toestel vir die eerste keer gebruik word maak alle
parte skoon wat met kos in aanraking kom soos voorgeskryf in
skoonmaak artikel.
3.2. Gebruik en sorg:
3.2.1. Die kabel moet ten volle afgewikkel word voor gebruik.
3.2.2. Plaas toestel op ’n stabiele area en weg van water.
4. Gebruik:
4.1. Olievul:
4.1.1. Maak die deksel oop.
4.1.2. Verseker dat die elektriese toerusting behoorlik geplaas is.
4.1.3. Giet olie tot by die merk wat die MAKSIMUM vlak op die
bak aandui.
4.1.4. Die toestel moet nie met minder olie as dit wat deur die
MINIMALE merk aangedui word, gebruik word nie
4.2. Diepbraaier gebruik:
4.2.1. Strek die kabel heeltemal uit voordat jy dit koppel.
4.2.2. Sluit die toestel aan op die hoofkrag.
4.2.3. VERWYDER die deksel. Hierdie braaier is nie ontwerp om
met die deksel op te braai nie.
4.2.4. Verwyder die mandjie en heg die handvatsel daaraan vas
deur te draai totdat die stange in die behuising ingryp.
4.2.5. Die pilootlig (D) skakel aan.
4.2.6. Kies die gewenste braaitemperatuur deur die termostaatbe-
heer te gebruik. Die aanwysliglig (E) sal aanskakel en aandui dat
die olie verhit word (sluit die deksel om energie te bespaar).
4.2.7. Berei die kos voor om gebraai te word en plaas dit in die
mandjie, en maak seker dat dit nie meer as ¾ van sy kapasiteit
bo uitkom nie. Laat die kos dreineer voordat dit in die mandjie
geplaas word.
4.2.8. Bevrore kos moet vooraf ontdooi word.
4.2.9. Die plasing van bevrore kos of kos met ‘n hoë waterinhoud
in die mandjie kan veroorsaak dat die olie na ‘n paar sekondes
skielik spat.
4.2.10. Wag totdat die pilootlig (E) uitgegaan het, wat aandui dat
