Important Safeguards

When using electrical appliances, in order to reduce the

risk of fire, electrical shock, and/or injury to persons,

basic safety precautions should always be followed,

including the following:

• Tie this blanket securely.

• Use this blanket as an underblanket only. Not recom-

mended for futons or similar folding bedding systems.

• This blanket is not recommended to be used an ad-

justable bed. If used on and adjustable bed, check that

the blanket or cord cannot become caught or rucked.

• Make sure that the heating area (wire element) on

any side of the bed does not hang over the edge of the

mattress and that the following instructions that follow

are read carefully before using the blanket.

• Do not use this blanket with a helpless person and

infant or a person in sensitive to heat.

• Do not use with wired area tucked in.

• Do not tuck in.

• Do not insert pins.

• Use only for human use, not for pets.

• Young children should be supervised to ensure they

do not play with the appliance.

• Over long application at the high setting can result in

skin irritation or burns.

• Do not use if moist or wet.

• Do not use rucked or folded.

• Keep control unit away from an open window.

• Be sure that this blanket is used only on an alternat-

ing current supply circuit of correct voltage.

• The flexible power supply and switch must, as far as

practicable, be kept outside the bed.

• Do not switch the power on if the blanket is wet or in

a folded state.

• Switch off at the power outlet and remove plug when

this blanket is not in actual use.

• This blanket must be kept in the fully spread condi-

tion at all times during use to avoid overheating. It is

imperative that the blanket be frequently inspected to

ensure that this condition is being maintained.

• Bedding should not be folded back when the blanket

is switch on. Do not leave heavy objects on the bed

when the unit is switched on.

• Arrange the blanket so that it is not beneath pillows

and/or bolsters.

• Do not dry-clean this blanket, Cleaning liquids may

have a deleterious effect on the insulation or covering

of the heating unit. It is recommended you follow

instructions for localized soiling or hand washing if

soiling occurs.

• Persons suffering from bed-wetting should only use

products specifically designed for this condition.

• If any abnormality or defect in operation of this blan-

ket is observed, discontinue its use immediately and

consult the manufacturer or a licensed electrician.

• Regularly inspect the supply cord, plug, controller

and blanket for any damage. If found damaged in any

way, immediately cease use of the blanket and return to

Retailer or an authorized service agent for inspection.

• There are no customer serviceable parts inside, Have

Bediening en Kontroles

Sorg & Onderhoud

• Moenie droogskoonmaak nie.

• Gebruik slegs die volgende instruksies:

Voordat jy skoonmaak, maak seker dat die beheer op

die “0”-posisie (AF) gestel is en verwyder die prop uit

die muursok.

Die verwarmingsdrade binne die elektriese kombers is

ten volle waterdig.

Rol elkeen van die bindbande op voordat dit

skoongemaak of gestoor word en maak dit vas om

verstrengeling te voorkom.

Spot skoonmaak

Spons die aangetaste area met ‘n lou warm neutrale

skoonmaakmiddel of sagte seepoplossing. Volg dit

met ‘n spons met ‘n skoon wateroplossing. Verwyder

enige oortollige water deur die nat area tussen

absorberende handdoeke saam te druk.

Masjienwas

Dompel kombers in louwarm water, met ‘n neutrale

skoonmaakmiddel vir 15 minute, verseker dat water-

temperatuur laer as 40°C is.

MOENIE toelaat dat die kontroleerder nat word nie.

Was met lou seepwater. Moenie ‘n bleikvloeistof

gebruik nie.

Spoel die kombers deeglik uit in skoon vars water.

Ontvou kombers en laat lug droog word.

Droog

Drapeer die kombers oor ‘n klerelyn en drup droog.

MOENIE penne gebruik om die kombers in posisie

vas te maak nie.

MOENIE met ‘n haardroër of verwarmer droog

word nie.

BELANGRIK: Maak seker dat die kontroles in ‘n

posisie is wat nie toelaat dat drupwater op enige

deel van die beheerder val nie.

Berging

Wanneer dit nie gebruik word nie, stoor soos volg

Wanneer dit nie gebruik word nie, pak die komb-

ers in sy oorspronklike verpakking vir die beste

beskerming en bêre op ‘n koel, skoon en droë plek.

Vermy om skerp plooie in die kombers te druk. Bêre

eers nadat kombers heeltemal afgekoel is.

Wanneer die toestel gestoor word, laat dit afkoel

voordat dit gevou word.

Moenie die toestel kreukel deur items bo-op dit te

plaas tydens berging nie.

• Die buigsame kragtoevoer en skakelaar moet sover

• Moenie die krag aanskakel as die kombers nat of in

‘n gevoude toestand is nie.

• Skakel af by die kragpunt en verwyder prop wanneer

hierdie kombers nie in werklike gebruik is nie.

• Hierdie kombers moet te alle tye in ‘n volledig

uitgespreide toestand gehou word tydens gebruik om

oorverhitting te voorkom. Dit is noodsaaklik dat die

kombers gereeld geïnspekteer word om te verseker dat

hierdie toestand gehandhaaf word.

• Beddegoed moet nie teruggevou word wanneer die

kombers aangeskakel is nie. Moenie swaar voorwerpe

op die bed los wanneer die eenheid aangeskakel is nie.

• Rangskik die kombers so dat dit nie onder kussings

en/of bolsters is nie.

• Moenie hierdie kombers droogskoonmaak nie.

Skoonmaakvloeistowwe kan ‘n nadelige uitwerking op

die isolasie of bedekking van die verwarmingseenheid

hê. Dit word aanbeveel dat u instruksies volg vir geloka-

liseerde vuil of handewas indien vuil voorkom.

• Persone wat aan bednatmaak ly, moet slegs produkte

gebruik wat spesifiek vir hierdie toestand ontwerp is.

• Indien enige abnormaliteit of gebrek in die werking

van hierdie kombers waargeneem word, staak die ge-

bruik daarvan onmiddellik en raadpleeg die vervaardiger

of ‘n gelisensieerde elektrisiën.

• Inspekteer die toevoerkoord, prop, kontroleerder

en kombers gereeld vir enige skade. As dit op enige

manier beskadig gevind word, staak die gebruik van die

kombers onmiddellik en stuur terug na die Kleinhande-

laar of ‘n gemagtigde diensagent vir inspeksie.

• Daar is geen klantdiensbare onderdele binne nie. Laat

die kombers diens deur ‘n gekwalifiseerde diensagent

indien die eenheid toegang tot interne komponente

benodig.

• Die kombers moet nie oor of onder ‘n waterbed

gebruik word nie.

• Dit word aanbeveel dat ‘n gekwalifiseerde en gereg-

istreerde persoon jou elektriese kombers na elke 3 jaar

van gebruik inspekteer.

• Wanneer jy stoor, vou netjies maar nie styf (of rol) in

die oorspronklike verpakking nie, vermy skerp draaie

in die verwarmingselement en bêre waar geen ander

voorwerpe daarop geplaas sal word nie.

• Vermy om plooie in die toestel te druk.

• Hierdie toestel is slegs vir huishoudelike gebruik. Nie

bedoel vir gebruik in hospitale nie.

• Die installering van ‘n resstroomtoestel (veilig-

heidskakelaar) word aanbeveel om bykomende veilig-

heidsbeskerming te bied wanneer elektriese toestelle

gebruik word. Dit is raadsaam dat ‘n veiligheidsskake-

laar met ‘n gegradeerde resbedryfstroom van hoog-

stens 30mA in die elektriese stroombaan geïnstalleer

word. Kontak jou elektrisiën vir professionele advies.

• Maak hierdie kombers slegs skoon volgens instruk-

sies wat saam met hierdie kombers voorsien is.

• Die maksimum geraasvlak is minder as 70dB

volgens EN ISO 7779.

• Hierdie toestel is nie bedoel vir gebruik deur persone

(insluitend kinders) met verminderde fisiese, sensoriese

Operation & Controls

The control has Braille markings, which allow for easy

temperature adjustment in the dark.

The settings are:

1. Gentle Heat

2. Medium Heat

3. High Heat

There is a neon light which illuminates when the

blanket is switched on.

NOTE: Your blanket will shut off no matter which

heat settings you place on as timer settings.

You may notice and odour when using the blanket

for the first time, due to the insulation material. This

is harmless and will subside quickly.

Care & Maintenance

• Do not dry clean.

• Do not iron.

• Use only the following instructions:

Before cleaning, ensure the control is set to the “0” Po-

sition (OFF) and remove the plug from the wall socket.

The heating wires within the electric blanket are fully

water-proof.

Roll up each of the tie tapes before cleaning or storing

and secure them to avoid tangling.

Spot Cleaning

Sponge the affected area using a luke warm neutral

detergent or mild soapy solution. Follow this with a

sponging using a clean water solution. Remove any

excess water by compressing the wet area between

absorbent towels.

Machine Washing

Immerse blanket in luke warm water, with a Neutral

detergent for 15 minutes, ensure water temperature is

lower than 40°C.

DO NOT allow the controller to get wet.

Wash with luke soapy water. Do not use a bleaching

liquid.

Rinse the blanket thoroughly in clean fresh water.

Unfolded blanket and let air dry.

Drying

Drape the blanket across a clothes line and drip dry.

DO NOT use pegs to secure the blanket in position.

DO NOT dry with a hair dryer or heater.

IMPORTANT: Ensure the controls are in a position

that will not allow dripping water to fall onto any part

of the controller.

Thank you for purchasing a Mellerware product. Mellerware guarantees

that your product has been thoroughly inspected and tested before being

dispatched and is free from mechanical or electrical defects and complies

with the applicable safety standards. With every Mellerware product

purchased you will receive up to a 3 year warranty as detailed in the terms

and conditions below.

FIRST YEAR – 1 YEAR RETAIL WARRANTY

Should defects due to faulty parts or workmanship develop, under normal

domestic use, within 12 months from the original date of purchase please

return the product to the store from where it was purchased for a refund

or replacement at the discretion of the brand. Mellerware appliances are

intended for domestic use only and not for industrial or professional use.

The Warranty, if the product is used outside of domestic use or used in a

commercial environment, is reduced to 3 months with no extended war-

ranty available, all other terms and conditions applicable.

SECOND YEAR – OPTIONAL 1 YEAR ADDITIONAL EXTENDED

ONLINE WARRANTY REGISTRATION

Mellerware takes pride in its product quality and therefore offer an

extended 12 month warranty over and above the 1 Year Retail Warranty.

Should defects due to faulty material or workmanship develop, under normal

domestic use, after the initial 12 month period and within 24 months from

the original date of purchase, please return the product to Mellerware for

repair. Mellerware will assess and repair the product free of charge should

it be found to be a valid warranty claim and will return it to you directly.

Mellerware will replace a product with a similar product in the same or

better condition, if the repair cannot be conducted for whatever reason.

Should the product fall outside of the warranty, Mellerware will produce a

repair and delivery quotation for your approval.

Should you experience any technical difculties you are welcome to

contact our customer service line on 086 111 5006 and one of our

consultants will gladly assist with the online warranty registration. Should

you not register the product within the 12 months of purchase, you will

automatically forfeit this extended warranty.

THIRD YEAR – OPTIONAL 1 YEAR ADDITIONAL EXTENDED

COMMUNICATION OPT IN WARRANTY

Mellerware takes pride in its product quality and therefore offer an addi-

tional 12 month warranty over and above the 1 Year Retail and 1 year

online registration warranty. Should defects due to faulty material or

workmanship develop, under normal domestic use, after the initial 12 month

period, the extended online registration 12 month period and within 36

months from the original date of purchase, please return the product to

Mellerware for repair. Mellerware will assess and repair the product free of

charge should it be found to be a valid warranty claim and will return it to

you directly. Mellerware will replace a product with a similar product in the

same or better condition, if the repair cannot be conducted for whatever

reason. Should the product fall outside of the warranty, Mellerware will

produce a repair and delivery quotation for your approval.

co.za. Should you experience any technical difculties you are welcome

to contact our customer service line on 086 111 5006 and one of our

consultants will gladly assist with the online warranty registration and

opt-in email communication. Should you wish to qualify for the additional

third year extended warranty, you would need to have registered your

warranty within the rst 12 months from date of purchase and subscribed

to receive brand communication. The extended warranty is conditional

upon these requirements. Please note that you are however free to opt

out at any stage in accordance with the POPI act, this will however result

in you forfeiting this additional extended “communication opt in” warranty

from the recorded opt-out date.

Before returning your product, check the following:

•Your household mains supply socket is in good condition, working and

switched on.

• The mains supply circuit is not overloaded (white trip switch on your

DB board is off).

•You have read the trouble shooting guide in your Instructions for Use.

•All accessories and parts are present.

The following conditions apply:

1. Please ensure you retain your original receipt as this must be

presented when making a claim under the terms of the warranty.

It is impossible to determine the warranty period without proof of

purchase, so please keep this in a safe place. (NB. Your original receipt

can be scanned onto the Mellerware website [www.mellerware.co.za]

or Creative Housewares (Pty) Ltd [www.creativehousewares.co.za]

for safe storage.)

2. If a refund or exchange is required the product must be complete

with all accessories, parts and packaging. Missing parts will render the

warranty void. Any refund or exchange remains at the brands discre-

tion beyond the implied warranty granted by the CPA.

3. Upon receipt of your appliance, check it for any transport damage to

ensure it is safe for use. Return it to the store as soon as possible for

exchange if damaged. The warranty is void if products are damaged

after use, so please do not use a damaged product.

4. Any alteration made to the appliance purchased will void the warranty.

5. Your product is designed for normal domestic household use. Failure

to read and comply with the instructions for use, cleaning and

maintenance will render your warranty void, so please read these

instructions carefully to ensure your safety, and to get the most effec-

tive use from the product (e.g. not removing limescale; water deposits;

insect infestation, and/or burnt products).

6. Any abuse, negligent, improper or accidental use or care will render

the warranty void and Creative Housewares (Pty) Ltd will not be

liable for any loss or damage.

7. Any attempted repair, or replacement of unauthorised parts will ren-

der the warranty void, so please contact an authorised service centre

or service agent for any service or repair requirements.

8. NB: The warranty on replaced products will be from the original date

of purchase and not from when the date replacement was made.

9. All repairs carry a 3 month warranty even if this falls outside of the

warranty period.

10. Mellerware will attempt to conduct repairs within reasonable time,

this in line with industry standards but cannot be held responsible or

liable for any circumstances not under the brand’s control.

11. -This warranty does not apply to glass components, lters, consum

ables, and other parts subject to fair wear and tear.

Repairs out of the warranty period:

If service or repair becomes necessary outside the warranty period, this

service is still available however all transport/postage, spares and labour

costs will be for the customers’ account. All chargeable repairs will require

the customers’ written acceptance of the quote. Once the go-ahead has

been received Mellerware will undertake to conduct the repair within a

reasonable time and maintain the condition of the product as received. All

repairs carry a warranty of 3 months from the date of the repair.

our products. To take advantage of the Free Extended Warranty options you will need to register your warranty online within the rst year

of purchase in order to make a valid claim. Now you can register your product, upload your warranty online and never have to worry about

losing your receipt again. Enjoy the benet of up to 3 year’s warranty.

1. The online warranty system is a safe storage facility for your receipt.

2. You will be required to register on the Mellerware or Creative Housewares website. You will receive a username and password once

registered. This will give you access to your prole.

3. From your prole you will be able to load products that you have purchased. In order to successfully register your warranty you will

need to scan and upload your receipt to us.

4. All instructions on how to load your products are available inside your prole.

5. Please note that you must check that your receipt has been uploaded correctly. Creative Housewares cannot be held responsible for

faxes or les not received.
