Drawer will not open

ʼnThe Solid Pack

TM

Cycle (also called Compress or Extra Pac [option not on all models]) may be engaged. The drawer will remain

locked with the ram down until you reset by starting the unit. Turn Solid Pack

TM

OFF to restore to normal operation.

Compactor will not run

ʼnIs the power switch ON? Compactors have a drawer safety switch that will not allow the compactor to start if the drawer is not

completely closed. Check to see if there are any foreign objects stopping the drawer from completely closing.

ʼnIntegrated (Full Door) compactors START by pressing on the pedal. See Figure 2.

ʼnEnsure the drawer latch is locked and check to see if there are any foreign objects stopping the drawer from completely closing.

Drawer does not open and close smoothly

ʼnThe latch may not be locked. See Figure 1.

ʼnEnsure the drawer is located on the tracks and check for debris on the drawer tracks or under the drawer. Debris may cause the

drawer to lean to one side or not sit properly on the tracks.

Compactor is not compacting/breaking bottles

ʼnFill the compactor before compacting. The compactor needs to be more than half full before compacting begins.

ʼnThe thickness of a bottle’s glass and the content of the trash load below it may keep the bottle from breaking. Bottles will not

break all of the time.

Compactor will not turn off

ʼnDebris in the drawer area may cause the door to disengage from the drawer monitor switch causing the compactor to keep

running. This can also keep the compactor from starting. Push on the drawer front to attempt to engage the drawer monitor

switch.

Drawer keeps popping open

ʼnDebris under the drawer can cause the door to open. Remove the drawer to ensure that there is no debris under the drawer. See

the compactor Use and Care Guide for Instructions. Be sure trash is placed in the center of the drawer.

My bag keeps ripping

ʼnUse bags made specically for the compactor. Spread new bags against the drawer walls. Check that your bag is attached to the

4 buttons.

ʼnWrap the bag carrier rope around the buttons (not on all models). See Figure 1.
