USER GUIDE
WARNING
Turn the transceiver power off before entering the following locations:
• Near explosives or blasting sites.
• In aircrafts. (Any use of the transceiver must follow the instructions and
regulations provided by the airline crew.)
• Where restrictions or warnings are posted regarding the use of radio devices,
including but not limited to medical facilities.
• Near persons wearing pacemakers.
Turn the transceiver power off before entering the following locations, unless
the model is specifi cally qualifi ed for such use (Intrinsically Safe such as
approved by CSA):
• In explosive atmospheres (infl ammable gas, dust particles, metallic powders,
grain powders, etc.).
• While pumping on fuel or while parked at gasoline service stations.
• Do not remove the black sheet from the reverse side of the transceiver (refer
to the illustration below). Removal of this sheet decreases the waterproof
effi ciency of the transceiver and may cause malfunctions if water seeps into the
transceiver.
(NX-5000/ NX-3000 series)
• The orange seal on the reverse side of the transceiver is important with respect
to the waterproof effi ciency of the transceiver. Do not place stickers or other
materials on or around the seal shown in the fi gure, or on the reverse side of the
battery pack. Doing so will impair the waterproof effi ciency of the transceiver
and may cause it to break down. Additionally, in order to prevent damage to the
seal, do not allow it to come in contact with foreign materials.

CAUTION
• Do not disassemble or modify the transceiver for any reason.
• Do not place the transceiver on or near airbag equipment while the vehicle is
running. When the airbag infl ates, the transceiver may be ejected and strike the
driver or passengers.
• Do not transmit while touching the antenna terminal or if any metallic parts are
exposed from the antenna covering. Transmitting at such a time may result in a
high-frequency burn.
• If an abnormal odor or smoke is detected coming from the transceiver, switch
the transceiver power off immediately, remove the battery pack from the
transceiver, and contact your KENWOOD dealer.
• Use of the transceiver while you are driving may be against traffi c laws. Please
check and observe the vehicle regulations in your area.
• Do not expose the transceiver to extremely hot or cold conditions.
• Do not carry the battery pack (or battery case) with metal objects, as they may
short the battery terminals.
•
Danger of explosion if the battery is incorrectly replaced; replace only with the same
type.
INFORMATION CONCERNING THE BATTERY PACK
The battery pack includes fl ammable objects such as organic solvent. Mishandling
may cause the battery to rupture producing fl ames or extreme heat, deteriorate, or
cause other forms of damage to the battery. Please observe the following prohibitive
matters.
DANGER
• Do not disassemble or reconstruct battery.
• Do not short-circuit the battery.
• Do not incinerate or apply heat to the battery.
• Do not leave the battery near fi res, stoves, or other heat generators (areas
reaching over 80°C/ 176°F).
• Do not immerse the battery in water or get it wet by other means.
• Do not charge the battery near fi res or under direct sunlight.
• Use only the specifi ed charger and observe charging requirements.
• Do not pierce the battery with any object, strike it with an instrument, or
step on it.
• Do not jar or throw the battery.
• Do not use the battery pack if it is damaged in any way.
• Do not solder directly onto the battery.
• Do not reverse the battery polarity (and terminals).
• Do not reverse-charge or reverse-connect the battery.
• Do not touch a ruptured and leaking battery.
If the electrolyte liquid from the battery gets into your eyes, wash your eyes
out with fresh water as soon as possible, without rubbing your eyes. Go to the
hospital immediately. If left untreated, it may cause eye-problems.

Safety: It is important that the operator is aware of, and understands, hazards common
to the operation of any transceiver.
PRECAUTIONS
Observe the following precautions to prevent fi re, personal injury, and transceiver
damage.
• Do not charge the transceiver and battery pack when they are wet.
• Ensure that there are no metallic items located between the transceiver and the
battery pack.
• Do not use options not specifi ed by KENWOOD.
• If the die-cast chassis or other transceiver part is damaged, do not touch the
damaged parts.
• If a headset or headphone is connected to the transceiver, reduce the transceiver
volume. Pay attention to the volume level when turning the squelch off.
• Do not place the microphone cable around your neck while near machinery that
may catch the cable.
• Do not place the transceiver on unstable surfaces.
• Ensure that the end of the antenna does not touch your eyes.
• When the transceiver is used for transmission for many hours, the radiator and
chassis will become hot. Do not touch these locations when replacing the battery
pack.
• Always switch the transceiver power off before installing optional accessories.
• The charger is the device that disconnects the unit from the AC mains line. The
AC plug should be readily accessible.
• To dispose of batteries, be sure to comply with the laws and regulations in your
country or region.

SUPPLIED ACCESSORIES
Carefully unpack the transceiver. We recommend that you identify the items listed in
the following list before discarding the packing material. If any items are missing or
have been damaged during shipment, fi le a claim with the carrier immediately.
When not using an optional speaker/ microphone or headset, to keep the transceiver
water resistant, you must cover the speaker/ microphone jacks or universal connector
with the supplied cover/ cap.

PREPARATION
INSTALLING/ REMOVING THE BATTERY PACK
NX-5000/ NX-3000 series
1Match the guides of the battery pack with the grooves on the upper rear of the
transceiver, then fi rmly press the battery pack in place.
2Lock the safety catch to prevent accidentally releasing the battery pack.
3To remove the battery pack, lift the safety catch, press the release latch, then pull
the battery pack away from the transceiver.

SWITCHING POWER ON/OFF
Turn the Power switch/ Volume control clockwise to switch the transceiver ON.
Turn the Power switch/ Volume control counterclockwise fully to switch the
transceiver OFF.
ADJUSTING THE VOLUME
Rotate the Power switch/ Volume control to adjust the volume. Clockwise increases
the volume and counterclockwise decreases it.
SELECTING A ZONE AND CHANNEL
Select the desired zone using the Selector or the buttons programmed as [Zone Up]/
[Zone Down]. Each zone contains a group of channels.
Select the desired channel using the Selector. Each channel is programmed with
settings for transmitting and receiving.
TRANSMITTING
1 Select the desired zone and channel.
2 Press the key programmed as [Monitor] or [Squelch Off] to check whether or not
the channel is free.
• If the channel is busy, wait until it becomes free.
3 Press the PTT switch and speak into the microphone. Release the PTT switch to
receive.
• For best sound quality, hold the transceiver approximately
1.5 inches (3 ~ 4 cm) from your mouth.
RECEIVING
Select the desired zone and channel. If signaling has been programmed on the
selected channel, you will hear a call only if the received signal matches your
transceiver settings.
Receiving Group Calls (Digital)
When you receive a group call on a Conventional channel and the received group ID
matches the ID set up on your transceiver, you can hear the caller’s voice.
When you receive a group call on a Trunking channel, the transceiver automatically
switches to the communications channel to receive the call.
Receiving Individual Calls (Digital)
When you receive an individual call, a ringing tone will sound and the caller’s ID will appear on
the display.
To respond to the call, press and hold the PTT switch and speak into the
transceiver as you would during a normal transmission.

PRÉCAUTIONS
Veuillez respecter les points suivants afi n d’éviter les risques d’incendie, de blessure
corporelle et d’endommagement de l’émetteur-récepteur.
• Ne chargez pas le bloc-piles ou l’émetteur-récepteur s’ils sont mouillés.
• Assurez-vous qu’aucun élément métallique n’est situé entre l’émetteur-récepteur
et le bloc-piles.
• N’utilisez pas d’options non spécifi ées par KENWOOD.
• Si le châssis moulé sous pression ou une autre pièce de l’émetteur-récepteur est
endommagé, ne touchez pas aux pièces endommagées.
• Si un casque ou des écouteurs sont connectés à l’émetteur-récepteur, réduisez le
volume de l’émetteur-récepteur. Faites attention au niveau du volume lors de la
désactivation du silencieux.
• Ne placez le câble du microphone autour de votre cou lorsque vous vous trouvez
à proximité d’installations qui pourraient entraîner le câble.
• Ne placez pas l’émetteur-récepteur sur des surfaces instables.
• Assurez-vous que l’extrémité de l’antenne n’entre pas en contact avec vos yeux.
• Lorsque l’émetteur-récepteur est utilisé pour une transmission pendant plusieurs
heures, le radiateur et le châssis chauffent. Ne touchez pas ces zones lors du
remplacement du bloc-piles.
• Veillez à toujours mettre l’émetteur-récepteur hors tension avant d’installer des
accessoires en option.
• Le chargeur est le dispositif qui sépare l’unité de la ligne de secteur. La fi che
secteur doit être facilement accessible.

AVERTISSEMENT

Mettez l’émetteur-récepteur hors tension avant d’entrer dans les endroits
suivants , à moins que le modèle soit spécifi quement conçu pour une telle
utilisation (Intrinsèquement sûr selon l’approbation du CSA):
• Dans des atmosphères explosives (gaz infl ammables, particules de poussière,
poudres métalliques, poudres de grain, etc.).
• En pompant du carburant ou en stationnement dans des stations-service.
• N’enlevez pas la feuille noire à l’arrière de l’émetteur-récepteur (reportez-vous
à l’illustration ci-dessous). Le retrait de cette tôle réduit le degré d’étanchéité
de l’émetteur-récepteur et peut provoquer des dysfonctionnements si de l’eau
s’infi ltre dans l’émetteur-récepteur.

• Le joint orange sur le verso de l’émetteur-récepteur est important en ce qui
concerne l’effi cacité de l’étanchéité à l’eau de l’émetteur-récepteur. N’apposez
pas de vignettes autocollantes ou d’autres éléments sur ou autour du joint
indiqué sur cette illustration, ou sur le verso du bloc-piles. L’émetteur-récepteur
pourrait ne plus être étanche à l’eau et il pourrait tomber en panne. En outre, afi n
d’éviter tout dommage du joint, évitez qu’il n’entre en contact avec des matières
étrangères.

ATTENTION
• Ne démontez et ne modifi ez sous aucun prétexte l’émetteur-récepteur.
• Ne placez pas l’émetteur-récepteur sur ou à proximité d’airbags lorsque le
véhicule roule. Si les airbags se gonfl ent, l’émetteur-récepteur risque d’être
éjecté et d’heurter le conducteur ou les passagers.
• Ne procédez à aucune transmission lorsque vous êtes en contact avec la
borne de l’antenne ou si des parties métalliques de l’antenne ont perdu leur
revêtement, faute de quoi une brûlure due à la haute fréquence risque d’être
occasionnée.
• Si une odeur anormale ou de la fumée est générée par l’émetteur-récepteur,
mettez immédiatement l’émetteur-récepteur hors tension, retirez le bloc-piles de
l’émetteur-récepteur et contactez votre revendeur KENWOOD.
• Il est possible que l’utilisation de l’émetteur-récepteur pendant la conduite
soit contraire aux règles de circulation. Veuillez vérifi er et respecter les
réglementations routières en vigueur dans la région.
• N’exposez pas l’émetteur-récepteur à des environnements extrêmement froids
ou chauds.
• Ne transportez pas le bloc-piles (ou le boîtier piles) avec des objets métalliques,
ils pourraient court-circuiter les bornes des piles.
• Danger d’explosion si la batterie n’est pas correctement placée; remplacez-la
uniquement par un modèle identique.

• Ne court-circuitez pas le bloc-piles!
• N’incinérez pas et n’exposez pas la pile à de la chaleur!
• Ne pas laisser la pile à proximité de feux, de poêles ou d’autres générateurs
de chaleur (zones dont la température peut dépasser 80°C/ 176°F)!
• Evitez d’immerger la pile dans l’eau ou de l’humidifier par d’autres moyens!
• Ne chargez pas la pile proximité de feux ou sous les rayons direct du soleil!
• N’utilisez que le chargeur spécifié et respectez les exigences de charge!
• Ne percez pas la pile à l’aide d’un objet, ne la frappez pas à l’aide d’un
instrument et ne marchez pas sur celle-ci!
• Ne secouez pas et ne lancez pas la pile!

N’utilisez pas le bloc-piles s’il est endommagé de quelque manière que ce soit!
• Ne soudez pas directement sur la pile!
• N‘inversez pas la polarité de la pile (et des bornes)!
• N’inversez pas la charge ou la connexion de la pile!
• Ne touchez pas une pile fi ssurée ou qui fuit!
Si vous recevez du liquide électrolyte de la pile dans les yeux, lavez-vous les
yeux à l’eau claire aussi vite que possible, sans vous frotter les yeux. Rendez-
vous immédiatement à l’hôpital. En l’absence de traitement, cela pourrait
provoquer des problèmes oculaires.

ACCESOIRES FOURNIS
Déballez soigneusement l’émetteur-récepteur. Prenez soin de vérifi er la présence des
articles ci-dessous avant de vous débarrasser du matériel d’emballage. S’il manque
un des éléments ou si un élément est endommagé, remplissez immédiatement un
formulaire de plainte avec le livreur.

PRÉPARATION POSE/ DÉPOSE DU BLOC-PILES

1Faites correspondre les guides du bloc-piles avec les rainures à l’arrière en haut
de l’émetteur récepteur, puis appuyez fermement sur le bloc-piles pour le mettre
en place.
2Verrouillez le cran de sécurité pour éviter de retirer accidentellement le bloc-piles.
3 Pour retirer le bloc-piles, soulevez le cran de sécurité, appuyez sur le loquet de
blocage puis retirez-le hors de l’émetteur-récepteur.

1Alignez le bloc-piles avec l’arrière de
l’émetteur-récepteur, ensuite, appuyez
fermement sur le bloc-piles et l’émetteur-
récepteur en même temps jusqu’à ce que le
loquet de blocage sur la base de l’émetteur-
récepteur soit verrouillé.
2Pour enlever le bloc-piles, soulevez le cran de
sécurité sur la base de l’émetteur-récepteur,
ensuite, appuyez sur le loquet de blocage
sous le cran de sécurité.
3Lorsque vous appuyez sur le loquet de
blocage, enlevez le bloc-piles de l’émetteur-
récepteur.

MISE SOUS/ HORS TENSION
Tournez le Commutateur d’alimentation / Commande de volume dans le sens
horaire pour mettre l’émetteur-récepteur sous tension.
Tournez le Commutateur d’alimentation / Commande de volume complètement
dans le sens antihoraire pour mettre l’émetteur-récepteur hors tension.
RÉGLAGE DU VOLUME
Tournez le Commutateur d’alimentation / Commande de volume pour régler le volume.
Dans le sens horaire, le volume augmente et dans le sens anti-horaire, il diminue.
SÉLECTION D’UNE ZONE ET D’UN CANAL
Sélectionnez la zone souhaitée à l’aide de Sélecteur ou des touches programmées en
tant que [Zone haut]/ [Zone bas]. Chaque zone contient un groupe de canaux.
Sélectionnez le canal souhaité à l’aide du Sélecteur. Chaque canal est programmé
avec des réglages de transmission et de réception.
TRANSMISSION
1 Sélectionnez la zone et le c anal souhaités.
2 Appuyez sur la touche programmée pour la fonction [Surveillance] ou [Silencieux
désactivé] pour savoir si le canal est libre ou non.
• Si le canal est occupé, attendez qu’il se libère.
3 Appuyez sur le commutateur PTT et parlez dans le microphone. Relâchez le
commutateur PTT pour recevoir.
• Pour une meilleure qualité du son, tenez l’émetteur-récepteur à environ 1,5
pouces (3 ~ 4 cm) de votre bouche.
RÉCEPTION
Sélectionnez la zone et le canal souhaités. Si la signalisation a été programmée sur
le canal sélectionné, vous n’entendrez un appel que si le signal reçu correspond aux
réglages de votre émetteur-récepteur.
Réception d’appels de groupe (numérique)
Lorsque vous recevez un appel de groupe sur une canal conventionnel et l’ID de
groupe reçu correspond à l’ID confi guré sur votre émetteur-récepteur, vous pouvez
entendre la voix de l’appelant.
Lorsque vous recevez un appel de groupe sur un canal trunking, l’émetteur-récepteur
passe automatiquement au canal de communications pour recevoir l’appel.
Réception d’appels individuels (numérique)
Lorsque vous recevez un appel individuel, une tonalité de retour d’appel et l’ID de l’appelant
apparaissent sur l’affi cheur (types I et II uniquement).
Pour répondre à l’appel, appuyez et
maintenez enfoncé le commutateur PTT et parlez dans l’émetteur-réception pendant
une transmission normale.

PRECAUCIONES
Respete las siguientes precauciones para evitar incendios, lesiones personales y
daños en el transceptor.
• No cargue el transceptor ni la batería si están mojados.
• Compruebe que no haya ningún objeto metálico interpuesto entre el transceptor y
la batería.
• No utilice opciones no indicadas por KENWOOD.
• Si el chasis de fundición u otra pieza del transceptor resulta dañada, no toque
ninguna de dichas piezas.
• Si conecta un casco o auricular al transceptor, reduzca el volumen del aparato.
Tenga cuidado con al nivel cuando desactive el silenciador.
• No líe el cable del micrófono alrededor del cuello cuando esté cerca de máquinas

• No coloque el transceptor sobre superfi cies inestables.

• Cuando utilice el transceptor para transmisiones prolongadas, el radiador y el

ADVERTENCIA

Apague el transceptor antes de entrar en las siguientes ubicaciones, salvo

• En ambientes explosivos (gas infl amable, partículas de polvo, polvos metálicos,
polvos de grano, etc.).
• Mientras reposta combustible o está aparcado en estaciones de servicio.
• No retire la lamina negra de la parte posterior del transceptor (consulte la
imagen siguiente). Si lo hace, disminuirá la efi ciencia de resistencia al agua del
transceptor, pudiendo ocasionar averías si entrara agua en el aparato.

• El precinto de color naranja en el reverso del transceptor es importante en
cuanto a la efi ciencia de resistencia al agua del aparato se refi ere. No coloque
pegatinas u otros objetos sobre o alrededor del precinto que se muestra en la
ilustración, o en el reverso de la batería. Si lo hace, podría quedar afectada la
efi ciencia de resistencia al agua del transceptor y provocar la avería del mismo.
Asimismo, para evitar daños al precinto, procure que no entre en contacto con
materiales extraños.

PRECAUCIÓN
• No desmonte ni modifi que el transceptor bajo ningún concepto.
• No coloque el transceptor encima o cerca de un sistema de bolsa de aire (airbag)
con el vehículo en marcha. Al infl arse la bolsa de aire, el transceptor puede
salir expulsado y golpear al conductor o a los pasajeros.
• No transmita tocando el terminal de la antena o si sobresale alguna pieza
metálica del recubrimiento de la antena. Si transmite en ese momento, podría
sufrir una quemadura por alta frecuencia.
• Si detecta un olor anormal o humo procedente del transceptor, apáguelo, retire
la batería y póngase en contacto con su proveedor KENWOOD.
• El uso del transceptor mientras conduce puede infringir las leyes de tráfi co.
Consulte y respete el reglamento de tráfi co de su país.
• No someta el transceptor a temperaturas extremadamente altas o bajas.
• No transporte la batería (o el porta pilas) con objetos metálicos, ya que estos
podrían producir un cortocircuito con los terminales de la batería.
• Peligro de explosión si la batería se cambia incorrectamente; cámbiela
únicamente por otra del mismo tipo.

• ¡No utilice la batería si presenta algún tipo de daño!
• ¡No suelde nada directamente a la batería!
• ¡No invierta la polaridad de la batería (ni los terminales)!
• ¡No cargue o conecte la batería de forma invertida!
• ¡No toque la batería si está rota y tiene fugas!
Si el líquido electrolito de la batería llegara a entrarle en los ojos, láveselos con
agua fresca lo antes posible, sin frotarlos. Vaya al hospital inmediatamente. Si
no se trata, podría causar problemas a la vista.

PREPARATIVOS INSTALACIÓN/ EXTRACCIÓN DE LA BATERÍA

Alinee las guías de la batería con las ranuras de la parte posterior superior del
transceptor y luego apriete la batería fuertemente hasta que quede encajada en su sitio.
2Coloque el cierre de seguridad en posición para evitar que accidentalmente se
suelte la batería.
3Para extraer la batería, suba el cierre de seguridad, presione la pestaña de
liberación y luego separe la batería del transceptor.

ENCENDIDO Y APAGADO
Gire el Interruptor de encendido/ Control de volumen hacia la derecha para
encender el transceptor.

izquierda para apagar el transceptor.
AJUSTE DEL VOLUMEN

SELECCIÓN DE UNA ZONA Y CANAL
Seleccione la zona deseada mediante el Selector o los botones programados como
[Zona arriba]/ [Zona abajo]. Cada zona contiene un grupo de canales.
Seleccione el canal deseado utilizando el Selector. Cada canal viene programado con
ajustes de transmisión y de recepción.
TRANSMISIÓN
1 Seleccione la zona y el canal deseados.
2 Pulse la tecla programada con la función [Monitor] o [Desactivar silenciamiento]
para comprobar si el canal está libre.
• Si el canal está ocupado, espere hasta que quede libre.
3 Presione el conmutador PTT y hable al micrófono. Suelte el conmutador PTT para
recibir.
• Para obtener una calidad de sonido optima, sujete el transceptor a 3 ó 4 cm
(1,5 pulgadas) de la boca.
RECEPCIÓN
Seleccione la zona y el canal deseados. Si se ha programado la función de
señalización en el canal seleccionado, sólo oirá las llamadas en las que la señal
recibida coincida con la confi guración del transceptor.
Recepción de llamadas de grupo (digitales)
Cuando reciba una llamada de grupo en un canal convencional y el ID de grupo
recibido coincida con el ID confi gurado en el transceptor, oirá la voz de la persona que
realiza la llamada.
Cuando reciba una llamada de grupo en un canal de trunking, el transceptor pasará
automáticamente al canal de comunicación para recibir la llamada.
Recepción de llamadas particulares (digitales)
Cuando reciba una llamada particular, sonará un tono de timbre y el ID de la persona
que realiza la llamada aparecerá en la pantalla. Para contestar la llamada, presione
prolongadamente el conmutador PTT y hable al transceptor igual que durante una
transmisión normal.

RADIO FREQUENCY ENERGY SAFETY INFORMATION
This KENWOOD transceiver has been tested and complies with the standards listed
below, in regards to Radio Frequency (RF) energy and electromagnetic energy (EME)
generated by the transceiver.
• FCC RF exposure limits for Occupational Use Only. RF Exposure limits adopted
by the FCC are generally based on recommendations from the National Council
on Radiation Protection and Measurements, & the American National Standards
Institute.

WARNING
This KENWOOD transceiver generates RF EME while transmitting. RF EME (Radio
Frequency Electric & Magnetic Energy) has the potential to cause slight thermal, or heating
effects to any part of your body less than the recommended distance from this radio
transmitter’s antenna. RF energy exposure is determined primarily by the distance to and
the power of the transmitting device. In general, RF exposure is minimized when the lowest
possible power is used or transmission time is kept to the minimum required for consistent
communications, and the greatest distance possible from the antenna to the body is
maintained. The transceiver has been designed for and is classifi ed for Occupational Use

reception time, and 90% stand-by time.
• Use only the specifi ed antenna for this transceiver; this may be either the antenna
provided with the transceiver or another antenna authorized by KENWOOD.
Use only KENWOOD authorized accessories (antennas, battery packs, belt clips,
Speaker/ Mics or headsets etc.): When worn on the body, always place the radio in
a KENWOOD recommended clip or carrying case meant for this product. The use
of other than recommended or approved body- worn accessories may result in RF
exposure levels which exceed the FCC’s occupational/ controlled environment RF
exposure limits.
CAUTION
To ensure that your exposure to RF EME is within the FCC limits for occupational
use, you must observe and adhere to the above points.
Electromagnetic Interference Compatibility
Electronic devices are susceptible to electromagnetic interference (EMI) if they are
not adequately shielded or designed for electromagnetic compatibility. Because this
transceiver generates RF energy, it can cause interference to such equipment.
• Turn OFF your transceiver where signs are posted to do so. Hospitals and health
care facilities use equipment that is sensitive to electromagnetic radiation.
• Turn OFF your transceiver while on board an aircraft when so instructed. Use
of the transceiver must be in accordance with airline regulations and/or crew
instructions.

INFORMATION DE SÉCURITÉ DE L’ÉNERGIE RADIOFRÉQUENCE
Cet émetteur-récepteur KENWOOD a été testé et est conforme aux normes indiquées
ci-dessous, en ce qui concerne l’énergie de radiofréquence (RF) et l’énergie
électromagnétique (EME) produite par cet émetteur-récepteur.

Les limites d’exposition RF adoptées par FCC sont basées en général sur les
recommendations du Conseil National pour la protection et les mesures radiologiques
ainsi que l’Institut national américain des normes.

AVERTISSEMENT
Cet émetteur-récepteur KENWOOD produit une énergie radiofréquence et électromagnétique
lors de la transmission. RF EME (Énergie radiofréquence et électromagnétique) a les
capacités de provoquer des effets légèrement thermiques ou chauffant à toute partie de votre
corps inférieure à la distance recommandée de l’antenne radio de l’émetteur-récepteur.
L’énergie d’exposition RF est déterminée à l’origine par la distance à et l’énergie de l’appareil
de transmission. En général, l’exposition RF est minimisée lorsque l’énergie la plus petite
possible est utilisée ou le temps de transmission est gardé au minimum requis pour des
communications régulières, et la distance la plus grande possible de l’antenne au corps est
maintenue. L’émetteur-récepteur a été conçu pour et est classé comme usage professionnel
seulement. Les limites d’exposition professionnelle / contrôlée sont applicables aux situations
dans lesquelles les personnes sont exposées à l’énergie RF comme une conséquence de
leur emploi, et ces personnes ont pris connaissance du potentiel de l’exposition avez pris
connaissance des dangers potentiels du fonctionnement de l’émetteur-récepteur et vous êtes
familiarisé avec les manières de minimiser ces dangers. Cet émetteur-récepteur n’est pas
prévu pour usage du public en général dans des environnements non contrôlés. Les limites
d’exposition aux environnements non contrôlés sont applicables aux situations dans lesquelles
le public en général peut être exposé à l’énergie RF, ou dans lesquelles les personnes qui
sont exposées comme conséquence de leur emploi n’ont pas totalement connaissance des
potentiels de l’exposition ou ne peuvent effectuer un contrôle de leur exposition.
La liste suivante fournit l’information nécessaire pour assurer que vous prenez
connaissance de l’exposition RF et de la manière de faire fonctionner cet émetteur-
récepteur de telle manière que les limitations d’exposition FCC RF ne soient pas
dépassées.
• Lors de la transmission (en maintenant l’interrupteur PTT ou en parlant avec VOX
habilité), conservez toujours l’antenne et la radio au moins 3 cm (1 3/16 pouce) de
votre corps ou fi gure, ainsi que de toute personne. Un LED sur la partie supérieure
de la radio est rouge lorsque l’émetteur-récepteur fonctionne en mode PTT et
VOX.
• N’émettez pas pendant plus du 50% du temps d’utilisation total de l’émetteur-
récepteur; émettre plus du 50% du temps d’utilisation total peut dépasser les
limites suivant les exigences d’exposition FCC RF. Le fonctionnement nominal de
l’émetteur-récepteur est 5% du temps d’émission, 5% du temps de réception et
90% du temps en veille.
• Utilisez seulement l’antenne spécifi ée pour cet émetteur-récepteur, soit
l’antenne fournie avec l’émetteur-récepteur soit une autre antenne autorisée par
KENWOOD.
Utilisez seulement les accessoires autorisés KENWOOD (antennes, blocs-piles,
crochets de ceinture, haut-parleur / microphone ou casques etc.): Lorsque vous la
portez sur vous, placez toujours la radio dans un crochet ou un boîtier de transport
KENWOOD recommandé pour ce produit. L’utilisation de tout autre accessoire que
ceux recommandés ou approuvés peut donner lieu à des niveaux d’exposition RF qui
dépassent les limites d’exposition FR d’environnement professionnel / contrôlé FCC.
ATTENTION
Pour assurer que votre exposition à la RF EME se trouvent dans les limites FCC
pour usage professionnel, vous devez respecter et suivre les points indiqués
précédemment.
Compatibilité d’interférence électromagnétique
Les appareils électroniques sont susceptibles d’interférence électromagnétique
(EMI) s’ils ne sont pas adéquatement protégés ou conçus pour la compatibilité
électromagnétique. Étant donné que l’émetteur-récepteur produit de l’énergie RF, il
peut provoquer des interférences à certains appareils.
• Éteignez votre émetteur-récepteur lorsque les signes d’interférence apparaissent.
Les hôpitaux et les installations sanitaires utilisent un équipement qui est sensible
aux radiations éléctromagnétiques.
• Éteignez votre émetteur-récepteur lorsque vous êtes requis de le faire dans
un avion. L’utilisation de l’émetteur-récepteur doit être conforme aux normes
aéronautiques et / ou aux instructions de l’équipage.
Le présent appareil est conforme aux CNR d’Industrie Canada applicables aux
appareils radio exempts de licence. L’exploitation est autorisée aux deux conditions
suivantes : (1) l’appareil ne doit pas produire de brouillage, et (2) l’utilisateur de
l’appareil doit accepter tout brouillage radioélectrique subi, même si le brouillage est
susceptible d’en compromettre le fonctionnement.
