The station shall be positioned with the ushing uid ow
pattern not less than 33 inches and no greater than 53 inches
above the surface on which the user stands. It shall also be
positioned so that the sides are a minimum 6 inches from the
wall or nearest obstruction. Install the drain hose to the bottom
of the unit so spent eyewash uid transfers to an appropriate
collection container or to a drain. Do not let spent eyewash
uid drain to the oor, insulation jacket or to the surrounding
areas of the tank due to dangers of slipping or electrical shock.
If set on a at surface, such as a table, cart, or shelf, the surface
should be of adequate strength to support 155 pounds, lled
weight, with a 2 to 1 safety factor minimum. Carts, tables, or
shelves used should therefore have a minimum static load
rating of 310 pounds. Carts with casters should be locked into
place (minimum of 2 locking casters).
Eyewash units may be wall mounted using the “J” bracket
enclosed in the accessory kit with each eyewash station.
Hardware selected to mount the bracket should be chosen
based on the wall construction that the unit is mounted on.
Bracket must be mounted into a wall with sucient strength
to support the lled weight of the unit with appropriate safety
factor as noted above.
Do not mount into dry wall without a wood stud to support the
weight.
After installation and lling, eyewash station should be
activated for about 5 seconds to visually verify ow.

The G1540HTR AquaGuard Heated Eyewash Unit is a gravity
fed, natural ow eyewash station, eliminating the need for
plumbing. It is also supplied with self-regulating silicone
heating pad system and a highly visible orange insulated jacket
to maintain a constant temperature of 70°F inside the tank
under freezing conditions. USE OF THIS UNIT FOR ANY OTHER
PURPOSE IS NOT INTENDED BY THE MANUFACTURER AND WILL
VOID THE WARRANTY COVERING THE UNIT.

Operation
Before initial use, the tank should be cleaned and rinsed using
hot water. Partially ll the tank with tepid, potable water and
add one 8 ounce bottle of bacteriostatic additive to prevent
bacteria growth. One bottle is included with unit. Continue
to ll the tank with potable water until reaching 1/8" below
overow point. Install cap to top of the station, ensuring
the temperature sensor is submerged in water. Do not over
tighten cap. Plug in ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI)
plug to activate system. Green light on electronic temperature
controller should be illuminated to indicate system is operating.
The electronic temperature controller is factory set to 70° F and
has a 10° F dierential. Unit may take some time to reach 70° F.
Clean, rinse and partially ll station with potable water. Add
one eight ounce bottle of bacteriostatic additive to prevent
bacteria growth in the eyewash tank. Continue to ll eyewash
tank to 1/8 inch below overow point.
It is recommended the eyewash be cleaned using hot water,
140° (60°C) or hotter, and the water be replaced at a minimum
of every six months. It is further recommended the eyewash be
inspected weekly for inadequate water level. Inspections which
give evidence of any particulation or discoloration suggest the
water be replaced immediately.
NEVER PLUG IN UNIT WITHOUT HAVING THE TANK
COMPLETELY FILLED WITH WATER, THIS WILL DAMAGE
THE HEATER AND THE UNIT.

» Read and follow all instructions for this eyewash station.
Failure to do so may result in serious eye damage and
vision loss.
» Ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) can help prevent
electrocution. GFCI’s are an eective means of protecting
against electrical shock, however they must be tested
regularly to verify they are working properly. Hazardous
voltages may be present at the electrical terminals and
other exposed internal metal surfaces. Do not touch any
metal parts within the control harness when jacket is
removed. Any contact with metal parts including with metal
or conductive tools may result in serious injury or death.
» Ensure that the unit is completely lled (16 gallons) with
water while the unit is in operation. Failure to do so will
cause damage to the unit and possible failure.
» It is recommended that the eyewash be inspected weekly
for inadequate water level. Inspections which give evidence
of any particulation or discoloration suggest the water be
replaced immediately.
