Rugged Mount Instructions

WARNING

GPS device product box for product warnings and other

important information.

Garmin® strongly recommends having an experienced installer

with the proper knowledge of electrical systems install the

device. Incorrectly wiring the power cable can result in damage

to the vehicle or the battery and can cause bodily injury.

Connecting Power to the Mount

1Select a mounting location based on available power

sources, safe cable routing, and an unobstructed view.

2Connect the cables.

3Insulate and secure unconnected wires.

Attaching an AMPS Base Plate to the Mount

NOTE: The AMPS mount is not included with the rugged mount.

See your Garmin dealer, or go to to purchase buy.garmin.com

mounting accessories.

1Thread the screws through the washers , mount , and

AMPS mount base plate .

2Tighten the nuts to secure the base plate.

NOTE: The recommended torque is 1.7 to 2.25 N-m

(15-20 lbf-in.).

Installing the Device in the Mount

NOTICE

Before you place the device in the mount, ensure that the metal

contacts on the device and the mount are dry. Moisture on the

contacts causes equipment damage. Use the weather cap to

keep the mount cradle dry.

1Place the weather cap in the storage area on the mount.

2Place the bottom of your device into the cradle .

3Tilt the device back until it snaps into place.

4Using the security screw tool, tighten the security screw on

the top of the mount .

Removing the Device from the Mount

1Loosen the security screw.

2Press the button on the side of the mount to release the

device.

3Lift the device out of the mount.

4Place the weather cap on the cradle.

Raccordement du support à l'alimentation

1Choisissez un emplacement de montage en vous assurant

de disposer d'une source d'alimentation à proximité, de

pouvoir acheminer les câbles de manière sécurisée et de

disposer d'une vue dégagée.

2Connectez les câbles.

3Isolez et sécurisez les fils non connectés.

Fixation d'une base AMPS sur le support

REMARQUE : le support AMPS n'est pas fourni avec le support

1Faites passer les vis dans les rondelles , le support

et la base du support AMPS .

2Serrez les écrous pour fixer la base.

REMARQUE : il est recommandé de serrer les écrous selon

un couple de de 1,7 à 2,25 nm (15-20 lbf/po.).

Installation de l'appareil sur le support

AVIS

Avant d'installer l'appareil dans le support, assurez-vous que le

support et les contacts métalliques de l'appareil sont secs. Vous

risquez d'endommager votre équipement si les contacts sont

mouillés. Utilisez le capuchon étanche pour protéger le socle

des intempéries.

1Placez le capuchon étanche dans l'emplacement du

support prévu à cet effet.

2Insérez la partie inférieure de votre appareil dans le socle .

3Inclinez l'appareil vers l'arrière jusqu'à ce qu'il se mette en

place.

4A l'aide de l'outil pour vis de sécurité, serrez la vis de sécurité

sur la partie supérieure du support .

Retrait de l'appareil du support

1Desserrez la vis de sécurité.

2Appuyez sur le bouton situé sur le côté du support pour

libérer l'appareil.
