1.ハウジング

材質：水目桜

日本特産、樺(カバノキ)の一品種。肌目が緻密で堅

く、表面が美しく仕上がることから家具の製造な

どに適した高級木材を使用。TH909専用に熟練職

人が手作業にて加工しています。

表面の仕上げは、創業1900年(明治33年)で日本の

伝統工芸を今日の工業製品に活かす｢株式会社

坂本乙造商店｣が独自に開発した漆工芸で行われ

ます。使われている漆は、ベースとなる黒漆と箔

貼用の接着漆。格調高い奥行き感を表現するため

に硫黄でいぶした何種類もの色銀箔をちぎり絵

の様に貼りこんでいます。また、開口部には共振

点を分散させる独創的デザインの2層構造グリル

を採用しています。

2.ヘッドホン・ケーブル

専用に開発された7N-OFC使用のケーブルを採用

することで、低音域を豊かに延ばしました。プラ

グ・スリーブにはジュラルミンを採用し、耐久性

を高めています。また、着脱式コネクタ端子と

ヘッドホン本体側着脱部接点端子には、硬度が高

く耐摩耗性、耐食性に優れたロジウムメッキ処理

を施しています。

1. Housing

Material: Betula grossa (Known as

JapaneseCherry Birch) - The tree is Japanese

specialty and its texture is rigid and dense. It is

prized as a fine wood for furniture production.

The TH909 housings are exclusively manufac-

tured by skilled craftsmen.

The TH909 housings are processed with the

unique lacquer techniques developed by

Sakamoto Urushi Manufacturing Co., Ltd.,

founded in 1900. This exclusive lacquer finish

not only gives the headphone housings an ele-

gant and sophisticated visual aspect, but also it

improves the housings’ durability. The process

requires various meticulous steps. Many differ-

ent types of sulfur smoked silver foils are ad-

hered on a black-lacquered base, like creating a

torn paper collage, and then finished with a rich

Bordeaux-wine color paint as the overcoat. In

addition, the opening area uses a two-layer

structure grill with original design, which dis-

perses the resonance point.

2. Headphone Cables

Thick 7N-OFC cables are exclusively manufac-

tured for the TH900mk2/TH909 that enhances

low frequency reproduction. The plug case is

made of duralumin that promises high durabili-

ty. A highly hard, wear-resistant and corro-

sive-resistant rhodium plating is applied at the

removable connector terminal as well as the

main unit removable section contact terminal.
