3. WHAT TO DO IF AN ALARM SOUNDS
A loud alarm is a warning that potentially lethal levels of carbon monoxide or re is present. NEVER IGNORE AN ALARM.
If there is any doubt about the cause of an alarm activation, assume it was caused by an actual re and evacuate immediately.
If it is safe to do so, press the ‘Locate switch to silence all but the source alarm that has been activated. The location of the
activated alarm can now be audibly identied. If certain that there is no danger or risk, the Silence’ switch can be pressed to
silence the activated alarm.
If the ‘Locate’ switch has not been pressed, pressing the Silence’ switch will rst silence the secondary device(s) (the activated
alarm will not be silenced). You can then press the ‘Silence’ switch a second time, within 10 minutes of the rst press, to silence
the activated alarm.
4. TESTING THE ALARM SYSTEM
Press the Test switch to conrm that the Hard Wired Alarm Controller is operating properly. This will instigate a 4 second test. All
networked alarms should sound. To stop the test, simply press the Test switch again. This test should be performed on a weekly
basis.
Pressing the Test switch on the Hard Wired Alarm Controller creates a lot of trac. If you need to use the feature more than once,
please wait 40 seconds to let the network settle down.
