As an alternative aLV/C (Limited Voltage/Current) power
source withone of the following properties can be used:

suchthat themaximum open circuit voltage potential
availableto theproduct is not morethan 24 VDC and the
current islimited toa value not exceeding 8amperes
measured after 1 minute ofoperation.
–This device shall beused withasuitable isolating source
in conjunction with afuse inaccordance withUL248. The
fuse shall berated max. 4 Aand be installedin the
24 V DCpower supply to thedevice in order to limit the
available current.
In determining theacceptabilityofthecombination, the
following detail shouldbeexamined:
–These devices are intended and investigated for use with
CP String from FestoProgrammable controllers only.

1 Funktion
Das CPI-Modul CP-E16-M8-EL ist ausschließlich bestimmt für
denEinsatz an einem CP-Strang von Festo. CPI-/CP-Module
sind nur folgendermaßen zu benutzen:
– bestimmungsgemäß
–im Originalzustand, ohne eigenmächtige Veränderungen
–in technisch einwandfreiem Zustand
Das CPI-Modul CP-E16-M8-EL unterstützt CPI-Systememit
erweiterter Funktionalität.
2 Anwendung
Es sind die angegebenen Grenzwerte für Temperaturen,elek-
trischeDaten, Drehmomente usw. einzuhalten. Ausführliche
Informationen finden Sie inder Beschreibung
Typ P.BE-CPEA-CL-... (KombinierteBeschreibung für CP-CL und
CP-EL-Module).
3Einbau und Inbetriebnahme

Schalten Sievor Installations-und Wartungsarbeiten
folgendes aus:
– Druckluftversorgung
–Betriebs-und Lastspannungsversorgung.
–Befestigung des Moduls: Mitintegrierter Hutschienenbefe-
stigung (mit beigefügtemBefestigungs-Set) oderWand-
montage.
–BefestigungderSchilderträger 6: An integrierten Auf-
stecknuten an Längs-und Schmalseite. Schilderträger9
können Sie überdieTeilenummer547473(Typ ASCF-H-E2)
bestellen.
Wenn Sieineinem CP-Strang ein CPI-Modul einsetzen wollen
gehen Sie wie folgtvor:
•CPI-Modul montieren.
•CP-Kabel anschließen.
•Spannungsversorgung amCPI-Mastereinschalten.
•AutomatischeErkennung derStrangbelegungam CPI-
Mastermit SAVE-Tasteoder DIL-Schalter durchführen.
Beachten Sie die Anwenderdokumentation des Masters.
•CPI-Master neu starten (Power OFF/ON).

Ifyouwish toinserta CPImoduleina CPstring proceedas
follows:
•Fit theCPI module.
•Connect theCPcable.
•Switchonthe powersupply on theCPImaster.
•Carry outautomatic recognitonofthe stringassignment
onthe CPI master with the SAVE button orwith the DIL
switch.Observe theinstructions intheuser documenta-
tionfor themaster.
•StarttheCPImasteragain (PowerOFF/ON).
