Thank you forselectingthe Extech EX44x 400A  Series ClampMeter.



The MA440 is a 400AACClampmeterwith a total of  9 functions.



The that MA443 is a 400A True RMSACClampmeter offers10functionsincludingTRMSAC

measurementsandType K Thermocouple



The MA445 is a 400A 11  AC/DC True RMSClampmeterwith functionsincludingDCCurrent, TRMS

ACmeasurements, and Type K Thermocouple.



voltage,ACcurrent,DCcurrent (MA445), continuity, resistance,diode, capacitance,temperature

WARNINGS



WARNINGS BODILYidentifyhazardous causeconditionsandactionsthatcould  HARMorDEATH.

1. Beforeuse, operation.checktheclampmeterandprobefordamageorabnormal Donotusethemeter

if isprobeinsulationdamage,meter meterdisplayproblems,abnormal functioning,etc. observed.

2. Neverusethe the themeterwith batterycompartmentopen or with meterhousingdisassembledinany

way;       otherwise a risk of shock will exist.

3. Whentakingmeasurements,ensurethat and theyourhand fingersarein safeareabehindthefinger

guard.Donottouchbarewireorconnectors, unused inputterminals,orthecircuitundertesttoprevent

electricalshock.

4. Beforetakingmeasurements,the thefunctionswitchmustbesetto correctposition.Toprevent

damagetothemeter,            the function switch must not be turned while measurements are taking place.

5. Do DCnotapplyvoltage600VACor orgreater        between the clamp meter terminals and ground. Failure

to tofollowtheseinstructionscancauseelectricshockanddamage themeter.

6. 42V Whenmeasuringsignals >DCor > 30VAC pleaserms usecaution electricalastheselevelscancause 

shock.

7. Donot measure voltageorcurrenthigherthan the the allowableinput; functionswitchmustbesetto

the the themaximumrangepositionfirstwhen rangeof measuredsignalisunknown.Beforemeasuring

resistance, diode, and andcontinuitypleaseremovepowertothecircuit under test dischargeall

capacitors.

8. Whenthelowbatterysymbolisdisplayed,replaced      the batteries promptly to ensure measurement

precision.Removebatteries befromthe themeterif meteristo storedlongerthan60days.

9. Donotservice must serviceor ofmodifytheinternalcircuits themeter.Qualifiedpersonnel  themeter

only.

10. Donot notusethemeterinflammableorexplosive environments (gasorvapors).Do usethemeterin

environmentsthat theexceedtheoperationaltemperatureandhumidityspecifications.Donotuse 

meterinareas       where a strong electromagnetic field is present.

11. Tocleanthemeter,useonly a softdampcloth(neutraldetergentsonly)towipethemeterhousing.Do

notuse underabrasivesor powered on orsolvents.Donotcleanthemeterif it is     connectedto a circuit 

test;alwayspower OFFthemeter and thedisconnect test   leads before cleaning.

12. Useonlythetestprobesprovided.Replacetest testprobeswith better.onesof orthesamerating  The 

probesaretobeusedformainsmeasurementsCAT CATIIIor IVinaccordancewithIEC61010 031‐ and

shallhave voltage aratingof ofat theleast voltage thecircuittobemeasured.
