Pressthepowerbutton toswitch switch switchthemeterON.Thedisplaywill ON.Ifthedisplaydoesnot 

ON,replacethebatteries.

Measurements



Usethe thesuppliedfilmreferencesandzeroreferencemetalsubstratestolearnhow meteroperates

beforemovingto a professionalapplication.Theroundmetalsubstrate substrateistheferrous(magnetic) 

andthe therectangularshapedmetalsubstrateis non‐ferrous(non‐magnetic)substrate.Themeter

automaticallysensesferrousornon‐ferrous substrates.

1. Place a referencefilm(250µm,for example) ontheround,ferroussubstrate.

2. Placethe thespring‐loadedmetersensoragainst referencefilm.

3. Inthe the an that thesinglemode meter emitwill  audibletoneindicating  measurementhasbeen

taken.

4. Inthe thecontinuousmode displaywillcontinuallymeasureandupdatethe display

5. TheLCDwillshow readingthe (250µm)at the the centerof displayarea.

6. Atypicaldisplaywillalsoshowthefollowing:

 NO           = 1 (reading number one) on the lower left of the

LCD

 µAVG = 250 m average)(running onthelowerright

 DIR         = DIR mode of operation on the upper left

 Fe = Ferrous        substrate on the upper right of the LCD



Experimentwiththeremainingreferencefilmsandthe thesubstratebeforeusing meterprofessionally.

   Automatic Power OFF

Inordertoconservebattery approximatelylife,the turnmeterwillautomatically offafter  3 minutes.To

defeatthisfeature,usetheprogrammingmenudetailedinthenextsection(menuparameterAUTOPOWER

OFFunderOPTIONS).

LCDBacklightButton

The viewing,LCDisequippedwith backlighting foreasier especiallyin litdimly  areas. Pressthebacklight

buttonto toturn the backlighton.Pressagain turn the the backlightoff.Toenable/disable LCDbacklighting,

usethe theBACKLIGHTparameterunderOPTIONSin programmingmenu.

FactoryDefaultReset

Torestorethemetertoitsoriginalfactorydefaultsettings:

1. TurnthemeterOFF.

2. Pressandhold switchingtheZERObuttonwhile themeterON.

3. Whenthe themeterpowersup,         display will prompt for a YES or NO.

4. Pressthe theSETbuttonforYESor CANCEL   button for NO.

5. Notethatall alldatain memorylocationswillbeerased,inadditiontostatistics,calibrationvalues,

andalarmlimits.
