1. Safety
Warning: When using this machine, theîincluded safety instructions should always be followed to avoid risk of
ïŹre, electric shock, and personal injury. Read theîentire instruction manual before using theîmachine and keep it
for future reference. Always pull theîplug out of theîwall socket before servicing and adjusting theîmachine.
1.1 General safety instructions for your safety and the safety of others
1. Keep theîworking area tidy.
Cluttered surfaces and benches invite accidents.
2. Do not use theîmachine in dangerous environments.
Theîmachine should not be used on moist or wet surfaces or in rain. Make sure that theîwork area is well lit.
When working in dusty atmospheres, make sure that theîair is adequately circulated. Do not operate electric
machinery in explosive atmospheres, such as in theîpresence of ïŹammable liquids, gases or dust.
3. Reduce theîrisk of electric shocks.
Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces such as pipes, radiators, ranges and refrigerators
when using electric machinery.
4. Keep children and bystanders away.
Keep children and visitors at aîsafe distance from electric machinery and electric cables in theîworkplace.
5. Store electric machinery out of theîreach of children.
When not in use, electric machinery/tools should be stored locked away in aîsafe place, away from children.
6. Do not force theîmachine.
Theîcorrect feed rate makes theîwork better and safer.
7. Use theîcorrect tool for theîjob.
Do not force aîtool to perform aîtask that it was not designed for.
8. Wear suitable attire.
Do not wear any loose-ïŹtting clothing, gloves, necklaces, bracelets or other jewellery that can get caught in
moving parts. Non-slip footwear is recommended. Wear aîhairnet or similar if you have long hair.
9. Always use safety glasses.
Normal glasses are not tough enough to withstand impacts. Use aîdust mask or dust ïŹlter when working in
dusty environments.
10. Connect dust extraction equipment.
If theîmachine is equipped with dust extraction equipment, ensure that it is connected and used properly.
Make sure to empty theîdust bag regularly.
11. Do not abuse theîmains lead.
Do not carry theîmachine by its mains lead. Do not yank theîmains lead to turn theîpower off, pull theîplug
out instead. Make sure that theîmains lead does not come into contact with heat, oil, or sharp edges.
12. Secure theîworkpiece ïŹrmly.
Where possible, use clamps or aîvice. You can then operate theîmachine using two hands. This is much
safer than holding theîworkpiece in one hand.
13. Do not overreach.
Make sure that you stand steady and balanced all times.
14. Look after your tools.
Keep blades sharp and clean for theîbest and safest performance. Follow theîmanualâs recommendations
regarding lubrication and replacement of accessories. Inspect theîmains lead regularly. If it is damaged it
should be replaced by aîqualiïŹed service technician. Inspect all leads and cables regularly to check for any
damage. Make sure that theîmachineâs handles and controls are clean, dry and free from oil, grease etc.
