IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed,
including the following:
•Read all instructions before using the appliance.
•Inspect the appliance before each use. If any part is damaged, do not use the
appliance and refer to the warranty policy on page 9.
•To protect against electric shock, do not immerse the warming base, cord, or
plugin water or any other liquid.
•Avoid spilling food or liquid on the power cord socket.
•Spilled food can cause serious burns. Keep the appliance and cord away from
children.
•Do not drape the cord over the edge of a counter or table. Do not use awall
outlet located below the counter.
•Do not touch hot surfaces. The warming base and heating platemay become
hot during use. Use handles, oven mitts, or potholders.
•Use caution when opening the food container lid after heating. Hot steam may
escape and cause burns.
•Extreme caution must be used when moving an appliance containing hot food,
hot oil, or other hot liquids.
•Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
•This appliance is not intended for use by children.
•Keep the appliance and cord out of reach of children.
•Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the
appliance.
•Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be performed by children unless they
are older than 8 years and supervised.
•This appliance is not intended for use by persons with reduced physical,
sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless
they have been given supervision or instruction concerning safe use of the
appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
•Unplug the appliance from thewalloutlet when not in use and before cleaning.
•Allow the appliance to cool completely before cleaning, handling, moving, or
storing.
•Do not operate the appliance with a damaged cord or plug, after the appliance
malfunctions, or after the appliance has been dropped or damaged in any
manner.
•Warm food only in the food container. Do not place food directly into the
warming base.
•Do not use the warming base, lunch boxlid, food container, or food container
lid in an oven or microwave.

•Always attach the power cord to the appliance first, then plug the cord into the
wall outlet.
•To turn off the appliance, unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
•Do not place the appliance on or near a hot gas or electric burner, in a heated
oven, or near any other heat source.
•Do not let the cord hang over the edge of a table or counter, or touch hot
surfaces.
•The use of accessory attachments not recommended or sold by the
manufacturer may cause fire, electric shock, or injury.
•Misuse of the appliance may cause injury.
•Do not use the appliance for anything other than its intended use.

POWER CORD SAFETY
A short power-supply cord is provided to reduce the risk of becoming entangled in or
tripping over a longer cord.
Extension cords may be used if care is exercised in their use. If an extension cord is used:
•The marked electrical rating of the extension cord should be at least as great
as the electrical rating of the appliance.
•The cord should be arranged so that it does not drape over the countertop or
tabletop where it can be pulled by children or tripped over unintentionally.
POLARIZED PLUG
This appliance has a polarized plug, meaning one blade is wider than the other. To
reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to fit into a polarized outlet only
one way. If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug.
If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to modify the plug
in any way.
INTENDED USE
This appliance is intended for household use only. It is designed to warm fully cooked
food in the removable food container. It may be used for soups, chili, leftovers, and
similar prepared foods.
This appliance is not designed to cook raw food. If a recipe includes raw meat or other
raw ingredients, they must be fully cooked before being placed in the appliance. Do not
use this appliance for anything other than its intended use.
