Before installation, please make sure that you have re-
ceived the following:
1. 1 x EKI-2728 Industrial Ethernet Switch
2. 2 x Wall Mounting Bracket and 8 x Screws M3x5L
3. 1 x DIN-rail Bracket and 3 x Screws M3x5L
4. 1 x EKI-2728/I Startup Manual
If any of these items are missing or damaged, please con-
tact your distributor or sales representative immediately.
The EKI-2728 supports Gigabit Ethernet and features a +12
to 48 VDC redundant power input design with dual protec-
tion mechanisms: Power Polarity Reverse Protection and
an Overload Current Fuse. The former allows for reverse
power wiring, while the latter protects the system from
overload currents. Each port of the EKI-2728 is equipped
with two LEDs to indicate link status, transmission speed,
and collision status. Additionally, the device includes a relay
output for event alarms. In case of a power failure, a built-in
LED activates to notify administrators. Engineers can easily
verify the hardware status by checking the LEDs, making
troubleshooting quick and simple.

The EKI-2728 series switch supports dual +12 ~ 48VDC
power inputs and changes relay status when power failure
occurs.
1. Insert the positive and negative wires into the V+ and
V- contacts on the terminal block connector.
2. Tighten the wire-clamps screws to prevent the DC wires
coming loose.
Warning This product is intended to be supplied by an UL
certied power supply or a DC source suitable
for use at minimum Tma 75 °C whose output
meets SELV or ES1 and is rated 12-48 Vdc, 0.8A
min., if need further assistance, please contact
Advantech for further information.
Warning Ensure that the voltage of the power source is
correct before connecting the equipment to a
power outlet. The power outlet socket should
have grounded connection..
Warning Never open the equipment. For safety reasons,
the equipment should be opened only by quali-
ed skilled person..
