REQUIREMENTS

Adesso One-Year Limited Warranty

Adesso provides a one-year limited warranty on all its products, covering defects in materials

and workmanship. During this period, Adesso will repair or replace any product found to be

defective. However, this warranty does not cover products subjected to improper freight

handling, shipping abuse, neglect, improper installation, or unauthorized repairs. Additional-

ly, the warranty will not apply to products installed with non-Adesso-approved components

or to products with a broken sealed assembly trace.

If you discover a defect, Adesso will, at its discretion, repair or replace the product at no

charge, provided the product is returned within the warranty period with pre-paid freight

charges. Before returning any product, you must obtain a Return Merchandise Authorization

(RMA) number. This RMA number must be clearly marked on the outside of the package

being returned for warranty service.

Be sure to include the following in the package:

•Your Full Name

•Shipping address (no P.O. boxes)

•Telephone number

•A copy of the invoice showing proof of purchase

turned OFF before installing this

keyboard.

2. Plug in the USB cable into your computer.

3. Turn On your computer,

operating system will detect

the device automatically.

Driver Auto Installation Instructions:

Follow the steps below to install the driver and set up your Adesso fingerprint

reader with Windows Hello.

Windows 11 will normally install the fingerprint reader driver automatically through Windows

Update.

1.Open “Settings” (RIGHT-CLICK Windows Start).

2.Go to “Windows Update”.

3.Click “Check for updates”.

4.Allow Windows to download and install any available driver updates.

2. VERIFY THE DRIVER INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL THE DRIVER (Automatic)

To confirm the fingerprint reader is installed correctly:

1.Right-click the “Start Menu” and select “Device Manager”.

2.Expand “Biometric Devices”.

If the fingerprint reader appears in this section, the driver is installed correctly.

If you see a yellow warning icon under “Other Devices”, the driver may not be

installed properly and Windows Update should be run again.

Windows Hello requires a PIN before biometric sign-in can be enabled.

1.Open “Settings”.

2.Go to “Accounts → Sign-in options”.

3.Select “PIN (Windows Hello)”.

4.Click Set up and follow the prompts.

Enter the PIN you created earlier to continue.

Scan Your Fingerprint:

•Place your finger on the fingerprint sensor.

•Lift and place your finger repeatedly as prompted until the scan is complete.

[TIP] For better recognition accuracy, it is recommended to:

▪Scan the finger from multiple angles

▪Register more than one finger

3. SET UP A PIN (Required)

4. SET UP FINGERPRINT SIGN-IN

5. VERIFY YOUR IDENTITY

Once your PIN is created, you can add your fingerprint.

1.Open “Settings”.

2.Go to “Accounts Sign-in options”.→

3.Select “Fingerprint Recognition (Windows Hello)”.

4.Click “Set up”.

Enhanced Sign-in Security (ESS)

If fingerprint login fails, Enhanced Sign-in Security may be enabled.

To disable it:

1.Open “Settings”.

2.Go to “Accounts → Sign-in options”.

3.Find “Enhanced sign-in security”.

4.Turn the setting Off.

After completing these steps, you should be able to sign in to Windows using your

fingerprint.

Fingerprint Sign-In Not Available for Administrator Account

Windows may prevent fingerprint login for the built-in Administrator account due to security

policies.

Why This Happens

Microsoft disables biometric sign-in for the built-in Administrator account by default to

prevent high-privilege accounts from being misused.

SOLUTION:

Create a regular user account and use it for daily login.

1.Go to “Settings → Accounts → Other Users”.

2.Click “Add account”.

3.Create a standard user account.

Set up Windows Hello fingerprint login on that account (see STEP 4).
