The equipment is suitable for the protection
of socket outlets that supply all kind of hou-
sehold electric appliances, particularly those
with electronic components (Hi-Fi equipments,
TV, computers, videocassette recorders, timers,
cash registers, etc.) from damages deriving
from the presence of transient voltages in
supply circuits.
Transient voltages can ori in supply circuits -
ginate from atmospheric disturbances or from
actuating, setting or programming connected
inductive loads (air conditioners, burners, water
pumps, fluorescent or discharge lamps ballast,
washing machines, etc.).
The F 16 AH 250 V fast-blow fuse with 1500
A breaking capacity contained in the transient
voltage suppressor does not reduce the rated
current of the protected socket outlet.
The fuse is located in the removable cover;
to replace the fuse take the removable cover
out of the suppressor and separate from it the
contacts holder block with a screwdriver used
as a lever.
The transient voltage suppressor is provided on
the removable cover with a discharge lamp that
lights up to signal that the fuse has blown out
and that consequently the supply to the pro-
tected socket outlet has been interrupted.
OPERATION
In case of SCUDO intervention (internal varistor),
the internal fuse blows out opening the circuit.
To restore normal operation, replace the protec-
tion fuse.
If the fuse keeps blowing out it could mean a
deterioration of the varistor contained in the
transient voltage suppressor.

L’appareil est destiné à la protection des prises
de courant pour l’alimentation de tout genre d’ap-
pareils électroménagers, particulièrement ceux
qui ont des composants électroniques (appareils
stéréophoniques, TV, ordinateurs, magnétosco-
pes à cassette vidéo, caisses enregistreuses,
etc.), contre les dommages dérivants de la
présence de dans les circuits d’alisurtensions -
mentation.
Ces surtensions peuvent se présenter dans les
lignes de distribution de perturbations à cause
atmosphériques ou de la commande, manœuvre
ou programmation de charges inductives con-
nectées (conditionneurs d’ambiance, brûleurs,
pompes à eau, ballast de lampes à fluorescence
ou à décharge, machines à laver, etc.).
La présence dans le suppresseur de surtension
d’un fusible rapide F 16 AH 250 V avec pouvoir
de coupure de 1500 A ne réduit pas le courant
nominal de la prise de courant protégée.
Le fusible est placé dans le couvercle d’obtura-
tion extractible. Pour remplacer le fusible tirer le
couvercle d’obturation du suppresseur de surten-
sion et séparer de ceci le bloc porte-contacts avec
un tournevis utilisé à levier.
L’article est muni sur le couvercle d’obtura-
tion d’une lampe à décharge qui s’allume pour
indiquer la fusion du fusible et la conséquente
interruption de l’alimentation à la prise de courant
protégée.
FONCTIONNEMENT
Si le SCUDO (varistance intérieure) intervienne, le
fusible intérieur fonde et ouvre le circuit.
Pour rétablir le normal fonctionnement, remplacer
le fusible.
La persistance de fusion du fusible peut signi-
fier une détérioration des caractéristiques de
la varistance contenue dans le suppresseur de
surtension.

L’apparecchio fornisce la protezione delle
prese di alimentazione di tutti i tipi di elettro-
domestici ed in particolare di quelli contenenti
componenti elettronici (Hi-Fi, TV, computer,
videoregistratori, programmatori, registratori di
cassa, ecc.) dovuti a dai danni sovratensioni
presenti nelle reti di alimentazione.
Le sovratensioni nelle reti domestiche posso-
no avere origine sia da perturbazioni atmosfe-
riche sia da comando, manovra o programma-
zione di carichi induttivi allacciati (condizionatori
d’aria, motori di bruciatori, pompe dell’acqua,
reattori di lampade fluorescenti o a scarica,
lavatrici, ecc.).
La presenza nel limitatore di un fusibile rapido F
16 AH 250 V con potere di interruzione 1500 A
non riduce la corrente nominale della presa
protetta.
Il fusibile è alloggiato nel coperchio frontale
estraibile; per la sostituirlo, dopo aver tolto
tensione all’impianto, estrarre il coperchio dal
limitatore e separare da questo il blocchetto
portacontatti facendo leva con un cacciavite.
Sostituire quindi il fusibile con il ricambio 07051.
HF.16.
Il limitatore è dotato sul tappo di una lampada a
scarica che si illumina per segnalare l’intervento
(bruciatura) del fusibile e quindi l’interruzione
dell’alimentazione alla presa protetta.
FUNZIONAMENTO
In caso di intervento dello SCUDO (varistore
interno), il fusibile interno si brucia aprendo il
circuito.
Per ripristinare il normale funzionamento, proce-
dere alla sostituzione del fusibile.
Il persistere di bruciatura del fusibile può essere
causato dal deterioramento delle caratteristiche
del varistore interno al limitatore.

REGOLE D’INSTALLAZIONE
• L’installazione deve essere effettuata da perso-
nale qualificato con l’osservanza delle disposi-
zioni regolanti l’installazione del materiale elet-
trico in vigore nel paese dove i prodotti sono
installati.
• Prima di operare sull’impianto togliere tensione
agendo sull’interruttore generale.
• I collegamenti tra limitatore e carico devono
essere il più corti possibile.

al trattamento e allo smaltimento ambientalmente compatibile contri-
buisce ad evitare possibili effetti negativi sull’ambiente e sulla salute
e favorisce il reimpiego e/o riciclo dei materiali di cui è composta
l’apparecchiatura.

lers with a sales area of at least 400 m2, if they measure less than
25 cm. An efficient sorted waste collection for the environmentally
friendly disposal of the used device, or its subsequent recycling,
helps avoid the potential negative effects on the environment and
people’s health, and encourages the re-use and/or recycling of the
construction materials.
