Finderscope Assembly and Alignment Guide

Assembling the finderscope

Firmly screw the finderscope mount onto the accessory

port located on the side of Hestia with the provided screws.

Remove the lens cap and insert the finderscope into the

support rings.

Smoothly adjust each screw on the support rings to ensure

the finder scope is centered within them.

Aligning the finderscope with Hestia

This step must be performed during daylight.

Attach Hestia, equipped with the finderscope,

onto its tripod.

Launch the Gravity app on your smartphone and place

thephone on Hestia, using the alignment guide (refer to

theHestia user tutorial for details).

Choose landscape mode and aim at a distant landmark on

the horizon (such as the top of a tree, an antenna,

abuilding’s roof...)

Ensure the landmark is centered in your Gravity's view and

that the tripod’s axes are securely tightened.

Slightly loosen the screws of the rings of the finder scope

mount to allow for slight adjustments.

Look through the finder scope's eyepiece and pay attention

tothe reticle (crossing wires in the eyepiece view).

Using the three screws on the front ring of the mount, adjust

the finderscope’s alignment until the landmark visible in the

Gravity app is centered in the eyepiece reticle.

Once aligned, tighten all screws on the finderscope mount

securely but avoid overtightening, as this may misalign it.

To prevent immediate and

irreparable eye damage,

never point this finder at

or near the sun!
