EN Please read the instruction manual and safety instructions carefully
before using the appliance and keep the instruction manual

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

Before use, always check that the appliance, plug and power cord are
in good condition

The appliance must be used under normal operating conditions as
dened in these instructions.
•
Never allow water to get into the appliance.
•
Do not touch the appliance with wet hands.
•
Never insert objects into the appliance (e.g. needles...).
•
Children should be supervised to ensure they do not put their ngers
through the safety grids.
•
If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the
manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualied persons in
order to avoid a hazard.

Your appliance must be unplugged before any maintenance.
•
For maintenance and adjustment operations, please refer to the user
guide supplied with the manual.

This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above
and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities
or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given
supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe
way and understand the hazards involved.

Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children
without supervision.
APPLIANCE(S) WITH REMOTE CONTROL (VU/VF444x; VU/VF641X):
•
The remote control uses 1 x 3 V button cell (CR2025).
•
Batteries are to be inserted with the correct polarity as shown in the
battery compartment.
•
The battery terminals must not be short-circuited.
•
Keep away from re.
•
IMPORTANT: you are advised to switch o and unplug the appliance
when not in use. When storing the appliance for a longer period of
time, please remove the batteries from the remote control.
• Put the appliance in standby mode and unplug the appliance from the mains prior to replacing the battery.
• Follow the battery manufacturer’s instructions when installing new batteries.
• Please nd more information in the User Guide document to activate the battery.

• This appliance is designed for indoor domestic household use only. In case of professional use, inappropriate
use or failure to comply with the instructions, the manufacturer accepts no responsibility and the guarantee
does not apply.
• Always unroll the power cord completely before use.
• Do not use the appliance in a dusty room or a location where there is a risk of re.
• This appliance must not be used in a humid environment..
• The guarantee will be invalidated if damage occurs due to incorrect use.
THIS FAN IS EQUIPPED WITH AN ANTI-MOSQUITO SYSTEM (VU/VF421X, VU/VF641X):
• Never handle the system while in operation.
• Certain parts of the anti-mosquito system can reach high temperatures so before any handling, it is
recommended to stop and disconnect the appliance and allow the anti-mosquito system to cool down.
• Use only commercially available ask-type rells (VU/VF421X, VU/VF641X) compatible with the electric
diusers.
• It is essential to observe the recommendations for the use of rells dened by the manufacturer
(certain products used by manufacturers are harmful for the environment).
• The use of other substances may cause toxic hazards or re risks.
• Do not operate the anti-mosquito system without rells.
• Do not move the fan with a rell present inside the system (VU/VF421X, VU/VF641X).
FIRST USE
Before rst use, ensure that the voltage, frequency and power of your appliance are suitable for your electrical
supply.
Your appliance can function using an unearthed plug. It is a class II (double insulation ).
Before switching on your appliance, ensure that :
• the appliance is completely assembled as described in the safety instructions,
• the appliance is placed on a stable, horizontal surface,
• the appliance is positioned in accordance with the instructions given in this manual.
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO FORCE OSCILLATION MANUALLY.
• APPLIANCE(S) WITH REMOTE CONTROL VU/VF444X; VU/VF641X:
• The remote control uses 1 x 3V button cell CR2025 which is included.
• At the rst use, take the small plastic strap out of the batteries location at the bottom of the appliance.
• To change the remote’s battery, remove it from it’s compartment then place the new one making sure that you put
it in with the positive and negative ends the right way round as shown in the battery compartment.
When you use the appliance for the rst time, it may temporarily release a faint odour and smoke (this is per fectly
normal for new appliances: it will disappear after a few minutes).
IMPORTANT :
You are advised to unplug the appliance when not in use.
