When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed

hot lid, etc).
5. Burns can occur from touching hot plate, hot water or steam. Exercise caution.
6. Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting
on or taking off parts, and before cleaning the appliance.
7. Do not operate any appliance which has been damaged in any way or has a
defective cord or plug. Return it to the nearest authorized service center for
examination, repair or adjustment.
8. The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the appliance manufacturer
may result in fire, electric shock or injury.
9. Do not use outdoors.
10. Do not let cord hang over the edge of the table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
11. Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
12. Do not use appliance for other than intended use.
13. Do not pour liquids other than drinking water and descaling solutions specified in
this manual into the carafe.
14. All machines are subject to stringent quality control.
Practical tests using machines taken at random are conducted and this may
explain any slight marks or tea residue prior to use.
15. To reduce the risk of injury do not drape cord over the counter top or table top
where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over accidentally.
16. Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
17. Protect the machine against humidity and freezing.
