Vehicle Preparation
Before beginning your installation, familiarize yourself with the installation instructions and the RearSight camera system
components.
To ensure your safety, (A) apply the emergency brake and (B) read this entire manual before beginning.
CAUTION: It is advisable to disconnect the negative battery cable for 3 minutes before beginning
installation to avoid unintended air bag deployment. Note and record any anti-theft radio codes prior to
disconnecting.

* CAN Interface Harness must be used in mirror harness pin location 2 when factory mirror harness does not
include CAN bus data line. See harness pin location diagram below.

Installation
1. Disconnect the mirror wiring harness and remove the factory rear view mirror from the vehicle’s windshield
using either a mirror removal tool or other device to free the locking tab within the mirror stem base.
2. Determine if the factory mirror harness includes the following:
A. Pin 1- Ignition 12-volt power supply
B. Pin 2 – CAN bus data line
C. Pin 9 – Reverse-triggered 12-volt power supply
D. Pin 8 – Empty
E. Pin 16 – Empty
3. If there is no pin present in pin location 2 of the factory mirror harness, the included CAN Interface Harness
must be inserted and routed to the BCM Ignition Connector at the passenger-side kick panel. Here the
installer will use the include wire splice connectors to connect to Pin 52 (Blue with white stripe wire).
4. Insert the yellow (positive) bullet connector from the supplied female RCA terminal into pin location 8 of the
factory mirror harness.
5. Insert the black (negative) bullet connector from the supplied female RCA terminal into pin location 16 of
the factory mirror harness.
6. Connect the male RCA plug from the camera to the female RCA terminal included with this mirror.

Testing and Reassembly
Testing
1. Reconnect the negative battery cable and torque to 3 ft-lbs.
2. Re-enter any theft deterrent information (if applicable).
3. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
4. Shift the vehicle into reverse and confirm video feed to your device.
Note: If there is no picture present, re-check all harness connections.
Reassembly
1. Once the video is confirmed to be displaying in the mirror when in reverse, attach the new mirror to the
windshield.
2. Reinstall all trim pieces taking special care to ensure harnesses and wiring connections are properly secured.
3. Make sure no harnesses are bent or pinched by trim pieces.
4. Reconnect all disconnected bulbs and check for function.
