Echofish 300 sonar
technology is based on
sound waves. The system
uses sonar to locate and
define structure, bottom
contour and composition, as
well depth directly below the
transducer.
The transducer sends a
sound wave signal and
determines distance by
measuring the time between
the transmission of the
sound wave and when the
sound wave is reflected off
an object; it then uses the
reflected signal to interpret
location, size, and
composition of an object.
A simple menu system accesses unit's adjustable
features.To activate the menu system,press POWER-
MENU and a menu appears.Press POWER-MENU
repeatedly to access other menus one at a time.When a
menu is on the display,use the right and left arrow keys
to adjust the menu.Menus automatically are removed
from the screen after several seconds.

Press POWER-MENU until the LIGHT menu appears.
Select either OFF or ON to activate the backlight at the
desired level.
Note: Continuous backlight operation
significantly decreases battery life on portable
units.

Press POWER-MENU until the SENSITIVITY menu
appears.
Press POWER-MENU until the Depth Range menu
appears. Select AUTO to have the Unit automatically
select the Depth Range or manually select 4.5m, 9m,
18m, 36m, 55m or 73m. This locks the depth range to a
specific setting.
Note:In manual operation, if the depth is greater
than the depth range setting,the bottom will not
be visible on-screen. Select AUTO to return to
automatic operation.

Press and release POWER-MENU to power the unit on.
Press and hold POWER-MENU until the unit shuts down to
power off.
When Unit powers on, the Start Up menu temporarily
appears.
From this menu, select either
Start-Up for on-the-water use,
or Simulation for learning to use
the system with simulated
sonar data.
The Start-Up menu disappears
after several seconds and the
Unit begins operation.

Press POWER-MENU until the ZOOM menu appears.
Select ON to magnify the area around the bottom thus
revealing fish and structure close to the bottom that may
not be visible in typical operation.
In Zoom, the Unit continually changes the upper and
lower Depth Range to keep area just above and below
the bottom on the display.
Select OFF to return to normal operation.

Press POWER-MENU until the FISH ICON
menu appears. Select either OFF to view
“raw” sonar returns, or ON to take
advantage of Unit’s ability to identify sonar
returns that are determined to be a fish.

Select a higher number to show smaller sonar returns on-
screen, or a lower number to remove clutter from the screen.
Adjusting Sensitivity also affects how sonar returns are
identified as Fish Icon Symbols - more fish will be detected at
a higher setting, fewer at a lower setting. "5" is the Factory
Setting.

Press POWER-MENU until the DEPTH ALARM menu
appears.
Select OFF for no Depth Alarm;
select a number from 1 to 30m to set the alarm depth
point and turn it on.
An audible alarm sounds when the depth is equal to
or less than the setting.

Press POWER-MENU until the FISH ALARM menu
appears. Select OFF for no fish alarm, or select the fish
icon to set the fish alarm and turn it on.

TRANSDUCER
ON THE SEASHORE
ON THE BOAT
This SIDE-SCAN Transducer can be used from bridges,
boats or the seashore etc.
NOTE:
Remove the batteries from the fish finder to prevent
battery leakage and corrosion.
Clean the sonar sensor and cable with fresh water and
dry-off before storing .Do not submerge and/or spray
the fish finder screen/housing with water or use
chemicals to clean.

Press POWER-MENU until the CHART SPEED menu
appears. Select a setting from 1-4 to increase or
decrease the chart speed, where 1 is the slowest and 4 is
the fastest chart speed.

Press POWER-MENU until the DEPTH UNIT menu
appears. Select either FT or M to set the unit of depth.

Press POWER-MENU until the TEMP- UNIT menu
appears. Select either C or F to set the unit of
temperature.
The Side-Scan Transducer has the ability to be used
as a sideways scanning sonar fish finder to detect the
bottom contour and fish locations.
1. Connect the transducer cable to the main unit and
turn power ON, select START UP mode for use.
2. Place the transducer as perpendicular as possible
to the water to obtain a correct depth reading.
3. Move the transducer in a scanning motion (similar
to use as a flashlight),and the bottom contour and fish
locations will be showed on the screen.
NOTE:
There may be a wrong
display on the screen if you
use this SIDE-SCAN
Transducer in the situation
like the pictute below . As the
Side-SCAN function request
more rigorous environment, if
the banks is too gradually
and looks flat, or too much
sundries and weed in the
banks, you have to change
another place to retry to
make sure the Side-Scan
function to work well.

Indicateur poisson et profondeur.
La technologie utlisée par
l'ECHOFISH 300 est la détection
par ultrasons. Le système utilise
des ondes pour localiser et définir
la structure du fond marin, sa
composition, et aussi la
profondeur existant entre la
sonde et le sol.
La sonde envoie un signal et
détermine la distance grâce à la
mesure du temps écoulé entre la
transmission de l'onde et le
moment où celle-ci détecte un
élément. Le système utilise
ensuite le signal de détection
pour rendre une donnée de
localisation, de taille et de
composition d'un objet.
NB: Si vous choisissez la profondeur
manuellement, dans le cas oĂą la profondeur
dépasse celle sélectionnée, le fond ne sera pas
visible sur l'écran. En mode "AUTO", le réglage se
fera automatiquement.

Appuyez sur POWER-MENU jusqu'Ă ce que le menu
ZOOM apparaisse. Choisissez ON pour explorer le fond
et découvrir des éléments qui ne seraient pas visible
avec un niveau de zoom normal. Dans le mode ZOOM,
l'appareil change en permanence le niveau de
profondeur (augmente et baisse) pour conserver une
vision du dessus et du dessous du fond. Appuyez sur
OFF pour retourner au mode normal.

Appuyez sur POWER-MENU jusqu'Ă ce que le
menu FISH ICON apparaisse. Choisissez OFF
pour obtenir les informations Ă l'Ă©tat brut et sur
ON pour utiliser la fonction de l'apareil qui
permet de détecter la présence de poissons
grâce à la technologie à ultrasons.

Appuyez sur POWER-MENU jusqu'Ă ce que le menu
DEPTH ALARM apparaisse. Selectionnez OFF si vous
ne souhaitez pas activer la fonction alarme profondeur et
ON pour l'activer.
Choisissez un nombre entre 1 et 30m pour régler
l'alarme profondeur. Vous entendrez l'alarme quand la
profondeur sera égale ou inférieure à celle choisie.

Appuyez sur POWER-MENU juqu'Ă ce que le menu
FISH ALARM apparaisse. Choisissez OFF pour ne pas
activer cette fonction, et ON pour l'activer.

Appuyez sur POWER-MENU jusqu'Ă ce que DEPTH RANGE
apparaisse. Cette fonction vous permet de régler la
profondeur maximum que vous souhaitez voir affichée.
Appuyez sur AUTO pour que l'ECHOFISH 300 choisisse
automatiquement la profondeur pour visualiser le fond ou
sélectionnez-la manuellement (4.5m, 9m, 18m, 36m, 55m ou
73m).

Le niveau de détection dépend du réglage que vous
effectuez: plus le chiffre est élevé, plus la précision est
accrue. Régler la sensibilité impacte également sur la façon
dont les retours d'ondes sont identifiés. Pour la détection de
poissons par exemple, plus de poissons seront détectés à un
niveau de réglage élevé et moins à un niveau de réglage plus
faible. Le réglage d'usine de cette fonction est "5".

Le menu vous permet d'accéder de façon très simplifiée
aux fonctions de l'ECHOFISH 300. Pour l'activer,
appuyez sur POWER-MENU.Appuyer de nouveau sur
POWER-MENU de façon brève pour accéder à chacun
des menus. Lorsque le menu de votre choix s'affiche Ă
l'écran, utilisez les flèches de droite et de gauche pour
effectuer les réglages désirés. Après quelques
secondes, les menus affichés à l'écran disparaissent
automatiquement.
Appuyez et relâchez la touche POWER-MENU pour
allumer l'appareil.
Restez appuyé sur POWER-MENU jusqu'à ce que
l'appareil s'Ă©teigne. Quand l'appareil s'allume, le menu the
Start Up apparaît pendant 5 secondes. A partir de ce
menu, vous pouvez choisir START UP pour une utilisation
immédiate en milieu aquatique ou
SIMULATION pour apprendre Ă
utiliser le système avec une
simulation de données du
sondeur. Le menu START UP
disparaît après quelques
secondes et l'appareil
commence l'opération.

Appuyez sur POWER-MENU jusqu'Ă ce que le menu
LIGHT s'affiche. Appuyez sur OFF pour couper
l'éclairage ou sur ON pour l'activer au niveau désiré.
NB: Laisser l'éclairage actif de façon continue
diminuera sérieusement l'autonomie de votre
batterie.

Appuyez sur POWER-MENU jusqu'Ă ce que le menu
SENSITIVITY apparaisse.
