Important
Read this user manual carefully before you use the
appliance and save it for future reference.
Danger
- Make sure the adapter does not get wet.
Warning
- Check if the voltage indicated on the adapter
and on the appliance corresponds to the local
mains voltage before you connect the appliance.
- The adapter contains a transformer. Do not cut
off the adapter to replace it with another plug,
as this causes a hazardous situation.
- This appliance can be used by children aged
from 8 years and above and by persons with
reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities
or lack of experience and knowledge if they
have been given supervision or instruction
concerning use of the appliance in a safe way
and if they understand the hazards involved.
Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be
made by children unless they are older than
8 and supervised. Keep the appliance and its cord
out of reach of children aged less than 8 years.
- Children shall not play with the appliance.
Caution
- Never immerse the appliance nor rinse it
under the tap.
- Do not use the appliance in the bath or in

- Use, charge and store the appliance at a
temperature between 15°C and 35°C.
- Only use the adapter supplied to charge
the appliance.
- If the adapter is damaged, always have it
replaced with one of the original type in order
to avoid a hazard.
- Do not use the appliance if the cutting element
or the hair clipping comb is damaged or
broken, as this may cause injury.
- This appliance is only intended for clipping human
scalp hair. Do not use it for any other purpose.
Compliance with standards
This Philips appliance complies with all standards
regarding electromagnetic îelds (EMF). If handled
properly and according to the instructions in this
user manual, the appliance is safe to use based on
scientiîc evidence available today.
Charging
Do not charge the appliance for more than 24 hours.
Charging takes approx. 8 hours.
When the appliance is fully charged, it has an
operating time of 40 minutes.
1 Make sure the appliance is switched off.
2 Insert the appliance plug into the
appliance (Fig. 2).
3 Put the adapter in the wall socket.
,The CHARGE light goes on to indicate that
the appliance is charging.
Note: The CHARGE light does not indicate when the
appliance is fully charged.
Optimising the lifetime of the
rechargeable batteries
Discharge the rechargeable batteries completely
twice a year by letting the motor run until it stops.
Then fully recharge the batteries.
Corded clipping
If the batteries are low, you can also use the
appliance from the mains.
Only use the appliance from the mains when the
rechargeable batteries are almost empty.
1 Switch off the appliance.
2 Connect the appliance to the mains and wait
a few seconds before you switch it on.
If the rechargeable batteries are completely empty,
wait a few minutes before you switch on the appliance.

Do not use the appliance on freshly washed hair.

1 Comb your hair with a styling comb in the
direction of hair growth. (Fig. 3)
2 Slide the hair clipping comb into the guiding
grooves of the appliance (âclickâ) (Fig. 4).
Make sure that the arms of the comb have been
properly slid into the grooves on both sides.
3 Press the length setting selector (1) and then
move the hair clipping comb up or down (2)
to set the desired length setting (Fig. 5).
,The corresponding hair length is visible on
the side of the comb.
Length settings
With the hair clipping comb attached, the appliance
can cut hair to 10 different lengths:

4 Slide the on/off slide upwards to switch on
the appliance (Fig. 6).
5 Place the hair clipping comb on the scalp and
move the appliance through the hair slowly.
Tips
- Start clipping at the highest length setting of
the hair clipping comb and reduce the length
setting gradually.
- Write down the length settings you have used
to create a certain hairstyle as a reminder for
future clipping sessions.
- To clip in the most effective way, move the
appliance against the direction of hair growth.
- Since hair grows in different directions, you need
to move the appliance in different directions as
well (upward, downward or across) (Fig. 7).
- Make overlapping passes over the head to
ensure that the appliance catches all the hairs
that need to be cut.
- Make sure that the îat part of the hair clipping
comb is fully in contact with the scalp to obtain
an even clipping result.
- To achieve a good result with curly, sparse or
long hair, you can use a styling comb to guide
the hair towards the appliance.
- Regularly remove cut hair from the hair
clipping comb. If a lot of hair has accumulated
in the comb, remove it from the appliance and
blow and/or shake the hair out of it.
Clipping without hair clipping comb
You can use the appliance without hair clipping
comb to clip your hair very close to the skin, to a
length of 1mm (1/32 in) to contour the neckline
and the area around the ears.
1 To remove the hair clipping comb, press
the length setting selector (1), move the
comb upwards and then pull it off the
appliance (2). (Fig. 8)
2 Comb the hair ends over the ears before you
start to contour the hairline.
3 Slide the on/off slide upwards to switch on
the appliance (Fig. 6).
4 Tilt the appliance in such a way that only one
edge of the cutting element touches the hair
ends. (Fig. 9)
5 Only cut the hair ends. The hairline has to be
close to the ear.
6 To contour the neckline and the sideburns,
turn the appliance and make downward
strokes (Fig. 10).
7 Move the appliance slowly and
smoothly. Follow the natural hairline.
Cleaning
Never use compressed air, scouring pads, abrasive
cleaning agents or aggressive liquids such as
alcohol, petrol or acetone to clean the appliance.
Only clean the appliance and the adapter with the
cleaning brush supplied.
Do not use any sharp objects to clean the appliance.
Clean the appliance after every use.
1 Make sure the appliance is switched off and
disconnected from the mains.
2 To remove the comb, press the length setting
selector (1), move the comb upwards and
then pull it off the appliance (2). (Fig. 8)
3 Push the middle part of the cutting
unit upwards with your thumb until it
opens (Fig. 11).
4 Clean the cutting unit with the cleaning brush
supplied (Fig. 12).
5 Clean the inside of the appliance with the
cleaning brush supplied (Fig. 13).
6 Clean the hair clipping comb with the
cleaning brush supplied.
Note: The appliance does not need any lubrication.

The cutting unit, the adapter and the hair
clipping comb are replaceable.
Replacing the cutting unit
Replace the cutting unit if it is damaged or worn.
Only replace the cutting unit with an original Philips
cutting unit.
1 Push the middle part of the cutting unit
upwards with your thumb until it opens and
then pull it off the appliance (Fig. 14).
2 Place the lug of the new cutting unit in the
slot and push the cutting unit onto the
appliance (âclickâ) (Fig. 15).
Environment
- Do not throw away the appliance with the
normal household waste at the end of its life,
but hand it in at an ofîcial collection point for
recycling. By doing this, you help to preserve
the environment (Fig. 16).
- The built-in rechargeable batteries contain
substances that may pollute the environment.
Always remove the batteries before you
discard and hand in the appliance at an ofîcial
collection point. Dispose of the batteries at
an ofîcial collection point for batteries. If you
have trouble removing the batteries, you can
also take the appliance to a Philips service
centre. The staff of this centre will remove the
batteries for you and will dispose of them in an
environmentally safe way (Fig. 17).
Removing the rechargeable batteries
Only remove the rechargeable batteries when
you discard the appliance. Make sure the batteries
are completely empty when you remove them.
Do not connect the appliance to the mains again
after you have removed the rechargeable batteries.
1 Disconnect the appliance from the mains and
let the appliance run until the motor stops.
2 Remove the hair clipping and the cutting unit.
3 Remove the 2 screws at the back of the
appliance with a screwdriver (Fig. 18).
4 Pull the back panel off the appliance (Fig. 19).
5 Remove the 6 screws on the inside of the
appliance with a screwdriver (Fig. 20).
6 Separate the power unit from the front
panel. (Fig. 21)
7 Cut the wires close to the batteries and then
remove the batteries (Fig. 22).

2 KĂ€mmen Sie die Haarspitzen ĂŒber die Ohren,
bevor Sie die Konturen am Haaransatz
deînieren.
3 Schieben Sie den Ein-/Ausschalter nach oben,
um das GerÀt einzuschalten (Abb. 6).
4 Neigen Sie das GerÀt so, dass nur eine
Ecke der Schneideeinheit die Haarspitzen
berĂŒhrt. (Abb. 9)
5 Schneiden Sie nur die Haarspitzen. Die
Haarlinie sollte dicht am Ohr verlaufen.
6 Drehen Sie das GerĂ€t, und fĂŒhren Sie es nach
unten, um die Konturen im Nacken und an
den Koteletten zu schneiden (Abb. 10).
7 Bewegen Sie das GerÀt langsam und
gleichmĂ€Ăig. Folgen Sie dabei der natĂŒrlichen
Haarlinie.
Pflege
Benutzen Sie zum Reinigen des GerÀts keine
Druckluft, ScheuerschwÀmme bzw. -mittel oder
aggressive FlĂŒssigkeiten wie Alkohol, Benzin oder
Azeton.
Reinigen Sie das GerÀt und den Adapter nur mit
der beiliegenden ReinigungsbĂŒrste.
Verwenden Sie zum Reinigen des GerÀts keine
spitzen GegenstÀnde.
Reinigen Sie das GerÀt nach jedem Gebrauch.
1 Achten Sie darauf, dass das GerÀt
ausgeschaltet und nicht an das Netz
angeschlossen ist.
2 Um den Kammaufsatz zu entfernen, drĂŒcken
Sie den SchnittlÀngenregler (1), schieben Sie
den Kamm nach oben, und ziehen Sie ihn vom
GerÀt (2). (Abb. 8)
3 DrĂŒcken Sie mit dem Daumen auf die
Mitte der Schneideeinheit, bis sie sich
öffnet (Abb. 11).
4 Reinigen Sie die Schneideeinheit mit der
beiliegenden ReinigungsbĂŒrste (Abb. 12).
5 Reinigen Sie das Innere des GerÀts mit der
beiliegenden ReinigungsbĂŒrste (Abb. 13).
6 Reinigen Sie den Haarschneidekammaufsatz
mit der beiliegenden ReinigungsbĂŒrste.
Hinweis: Das GerÀt braucht nicht geölt oder
geschmiert zu werden.

4 Schieben Sie den Ein-/Ausschalter nach oben,
um das GerÀt einzuschalten (Abb. 6).
5 Setzen Sie den Kammaufsatz auf die Kopfhaut,
und fĂŒhren Sie das GerĂ€t langsam durch das
Haar.
Tipps
- Schneiden Sie zunÀchst mit der höchsten
SchnittlÀngeneinstellung des Kammaufsatzes,
und verringern Sie diese dann schrittweise.
- Notieren Sie die fĂŒr eine bestimme Frisur
gewĂ€hlten Einstellungen, um sie fĂŒr spĂ€tere
Haarschnitte wieder zur VerfĂŒgung zu haben.
- Die besten Ergebnisse erzielen Sie, wenn Sie
das GerĂ€t gegen die Haarwuchsrichtung fĂŒhren.
- Da Haare in unterschiedliche Richtungen
wachsen, mĂŒssen Sie das GerĂ€t auch in
unterschiedliche Richtungen bewegen (nach
oben, nach unten, seitlich) (Abb. 7).
- FĂŒhren Sie das GerĂ€t mehrmals ĂŒber jede
Haarpartie, damit alle Haare erfasst werden,
die Sie schneiden möchten.
- Um gleichmĂ€Ăige Ergebnisse zu erzielen, muss
die îache Seite des Kammaufsatzes immer auf
dem Kopf auîiegen.
- Um auch bei lockigem, schĂŒtterem oder
langem Haar gute Ergebnisse zu erzielen,
können Sie die Haare mit einem Stylingkamm
in Richtung des GerĂ€ts fĂŒhren.
- Entfernen Sie zwischendurch die
abgeschnittenen Haare vom Kammaufsatz.
Haben sich viele Haare angesammelt, nehmen
Sie den Kammaufsatz vom GerÀt ab, und
pusten bzw. schĂŒtteln Sie die Haare heraus.
Ohne den Kammaufsatz schneiden
Sie können das GerÀt auch ohne Kammaufsatz
verwenden, um Ihr Haar ganz kurz (bis zu 1 mm)
zu schneiden oder die Konturen im Nacken und
um die Ohren zu deînieren.
1 Um den Kammaufsatz zu entfernen, drĂŒcken
Sie den SchnittlÀngenregler (1), schieben Sie
den Kamm nach oben, und ziehen Sie ihn vom
GerÀt (2). (Abb. 8)
3 Stecken Sie den Adapter in die Steckdose.
,Die Ladeanzeige leuchtet auf und zeigt an,
dass das GerÀt aufgeladen wird.
Hinweis: Die Ladeanzeige zeigt nicht an, wenn der
Ladevorgang abgeschlossen ist.
Die Lebensdauer der Akkus optimieren
Entladen Sie die Akkus zweimal pro Jahr vollstÀndig,
indem Sie den Motor so lange laufen lassen, bis er
anhÀlt. Laden Sie die Akkus dann wieder vollstÀndig auf.
Das GerÀt am Stromnetz betreiben
Wenn der Ladestand der Akkus niedrig ist, können
Sie das GerĂ€t ĂŒber das Netzkabel betreiben.
Betreiben Sie das GerÀt nur bei nahezu leeren
Akkus am Netz.
1 Schalten Sie das GerÀt aus.
2 SchlieĂen Sie das GerĂ€t an das Stromnetz an,
und warten Sie einige Sekunden, bevor Sie es
einschalten.
Bei völlig leeren Akkus sollten Sie einige Minuten
warten, bevor Sie das GerÀt einschalten.
Das GerÀt benutzen
Mit dem Kammaufsatz schneiden
Hinweis: Ihr Haar muss sauber und trocken
sein. Verwenden Sie das GerÀt nicht bei frisch
gewaschenem Haar.
1 KĂ€mmen Sie Ihr Haar mit einem Frisierkamm
in Wuchsrichtung durch. (Abb. 3)
2 Schieben Sie den Kammaufsatz in die Rillen
am GerÀt, bis er hörbar einrastet (Abb. 4).
Die FĂŒhrungen am Kammaufsatz mĂŒssen auf
beiden Seiten richtig in den Rillen liegen.
3 DrĂŒcken Sie den SchnittlĂ€ngenregler (1), und
bewegen Sie den Kammaufsatz nach oben
oder nach unten (2), um die gewĂŒnschte
SchnittlÀnge einzustellen (Abb. 5).
,Die entsprechende HaarlÀnge wird seitlich
am Kammaufsatz angezeigt.
LĂ€ngeneinstellungen
Mit dem Kammaufsatz kann das GerÀt Haare auf
10 verschiedene LĂ€ngen schneiden:

- Dieses GerÀt kann von Kindern ab 8 Jahren
und Personen mit verringerten physischen,
sensorischen oder psychischen FĂ€higkeiten
oder Mangel an Erfahrung und Kenntnis
verwendet werden, wenn sie bei der Verwendung
beaufsichtigt werden oder Anweisung zum
sicheren Gebrauch des GerÀts erhalten und die
Gefahren verstanden haben. Reinigung und Pîege
des GerĂ€ts dĂŒrfen nicht von Kindern durchgefĂŒhrt
werden, auĂer Sie sind Ă€lter als 8 Jahre und
beaufsichtigt. Bewahren Sie das GerÀt und das
Kabel auĂerhalb der Reichweite von Kindern unter
8 Jahren auf.
- Kinder dĂŒrfen nicht mit dem GerĂ€t spielen.
Achtung
- Tauchen Sie das GerĂ€t niemals in Wasser; spĂŒlen
Sie es auch nicht unter îieĂendem Wasser ab.
- Benutzen Sie das GerÀt nicht in der
Badewanne oder Dusche.
- Benutzen und laden Sie das GerÀt bei
Temperaturen zwischen 15 °C und
35 °C. Bewahren Sie es auch in diesem
Temperaturbereich auf.
- Verwenden Sie zum Laden des GerÀts
ausschlieĂlich den mitgelieferten Adapter.
- Wenn der Adapter defekt oder beschÀdigt
ist, darf er nur durch ein Original-Ersatzteil
ausgetauscht werden, um GefÀhrdungen zu
vermeiden.
- Benutzen Sie das GerÀt nicht,
wenn die Schneideeinheit oder der
Haarschneidekammaufsatz beschÀdigt oder
defekt ist. So vermeiden Sie Verletzungen.
- Das GerĂ€t ist ausschlieĂlich zum Schneiden
von menschlichem Kopfhaar vorgesehen.
Verwenden Sie es nicht fĂŒr andere Zwecke.

Dieses Philips GerĂ€t erfĂŒllt sĂ€mtliche Normen
bezĂŒglich elektromagnetischer Felder (EMF). Nach
aktuellen wissenschaftlichen Erkenntnissen ist das
GerĂ€t sicher im Gebrauch, sofern es ordnungsgemĂ€Ă
und entsprechend den Anweisungen in dieser
Bedienungsanleitung gehandhabt wird.
Laden
Laden Sie das GerÀt nicht lÀnger als 24 Stunden.
Das Laden dauert ca. 8 Stunden.
Das voll aufgeladene GerÀt hat eine Betriebsdauer
von 40 Minuten.
1 Vergewissern Sie sich, dass das GerÀt
ausgeschaltet ist.
2 Stecken Sie den GerÀtestecker in das
GerÀt (Abb. 2).
