Introduction

Congratulations on your purchase and welcome to

Philips! To fully benet from the support that Philips offers,

Read this user manual carefully before you use the

appliance and save it for future reference.

Warning

This appliance is not intended for use by persons

(including children) with reduced physical, sensory

or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and

knowledge, unless they have been given supervision

or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a

person responsible for their safety.

Children should be supervised to ensure that they

do not play with the appliance.

Caution

Keep the appliance dry.

Use and store the appliance at a temperature

between 15°C and 35°C.

Remove the batteries from the appliance if you are

not going to use it for some time.

Compliance with standards

This Philips appliance complies with all standards

regarding electromagnetic elds (EMF). If handled

properly and according to the instructions in this user

manual, the appliance is safe to use based on scientic

evidence available today.

Preparing for use

Inserting batteries

The appliance runs on two R6 AA 1.5-volt batteries.

Preferably use Philips alkaline batteries.

Make sure that your hands are dry when you insert the

batteries.

1 Open the lid of the battery compartment (Fig. 1).

2 Put two batteries in the battery

compartment (Fig. 2).

Note: Make sure the + and - indications on the batteries

match the indications in the battery compartment.

Note: The shaver does not work if the batteries have been

placed incorrectly.

How to avoid damage due to battery leakage

Do not expose the appliance to temperatures higher

than 35°C.

Remove the batteries if the appliance is not going to

be used for a month or more;

Do not leave empty batteries in the appliance.

Shaving time

Two new batteries offer a shaving time of 60 minutes.

Using the appliance

Shaving

Your skin may need 2 or 3 weeks to get accustomed to

the Philips shaving system.

Shaving on a dry face gives the best results.

1 Press the switch lock and push the on/off slide

upwards to switch on the shaver (Fig. 3).

Note: The switch lock prevents accidental switching on of the

appliance.

2 Move the shaving heads over your skin. Make both

straight and circular movements (Fig. 4).

3 Push the on/off slide downwards to switch off the

shaver.

4 Put the protection cap on the shaver after use to

prevent damage to the shaving heads (Fig. 5).

Cleaning and maintenance

Never use scouring pads, abrasive cleaning agents or

aggressive liquids such as petrol or acetone to clean the

appliance.

Regular cleaning guarantees better shaving performance.

For easy and optimal cleaning, Philips Shaving Head

Cleaning Spray (type no. HQ110) is available. Ask your

Philips dealer for information.

Note: Philips Shaving Head Cleaning Spray may not be

available in all countries. Contact the Customer Care Centre

in your country about the availability of this accessory.

You can also clean the shaver in the following way:

Every week: shaving unit and hair chamber

1 Switch off the shaver.

2 Cleanthetopoftheappliancerst.Usethe

cleaning brush supplied (Fig. 6).

3 Press the release button (1) and remove the

shaving unit (2) (Fig. 7).

4 Clean the inside of the shaving unit and the hair

chamber with the cleaning brush (Fig. 8).

5 Put the shaving unit back onto the shaver (Fig. 9).

Every two months: shaving heads

1 Switch off the shaver.

2 Press the release button (1) and remove the

shaving unit (2) (Fig. 7).

3 To remove the retaining frame, push the sides of

the central spring towards each other (1). Then

lift the retaining frame out of the shaving unit

(2) (Fig. 10).

4 Slide the shaving heads out of the retaining frame

and clean them one by one (Fig. 11).

Do not mix up the cutters and the guards.

This is essential since each cutter has been ground with

its corresponding guard for optimal performance. If you

accidentally mix up the sets, it could take several weeks

before optimal shaving performance is restored.

5 Clean the cutter with the short-bristled side of the

cleaning brush (Fig. 12).

Brush carefully in the direction of the arrow.

6 Clean the guard with the brush (Fig. 13).

7 Slide the shaving heads back into the retaining

frame and put the retaining frame back into the

shaving unit.

8 Put the shaving unit back onto the shaver.

Extra thorough cleaning

For extra thorough cleaning, put the shaving heads in

a degreasing liquid (e.g. alcohol) every six months. To

remove the shaving heads, follow steps 1 to 4 described

above. After cleaning, lubricate the central point on the

inside of the guards with a drop of sewing machine oil to

prevent wear of the shaving heads.

Storage

1 Switch off the shaver.

2 Put the protection cap on the shaver after use to

prevent damage to the shaving heads (Fig. 5).

Replacement

Replace the shaving heads every 2 years for optimal

shaving results.

Replace damaged or worn shaving heads with HQ3

Philips Double Action shaving heads only.

1 Switch off the shaver.

2 Press the release button (1) and remove the

shaving unit (2) (Fig. 7).

3 To remove the retaining frame, push the sides of

the central spring towards each other (1). Then

lift the retaining frame out of the shaving unit

(2) (Fig. 10).

4 Slide the shaving heads out of the retaining frame

and replace them with new ones (Fig. 11).

5 Put the retaining frame back into the shaving unit.

6 Put the shaving unit back onto the shaver.

Accessories

The following accessories are available:

HQ3 Philips Double Action shaving heads.

HQ110 Philips Shaving Head Cleaning Spray (not

available in China).

Environment

Do not throw away the appliance with the normal

household waste at the end of its life, but hand it in

at an ofcial collection point for recycling. By doing

this, you help to preserve the environment (Fig. 14).

Batteries contain substances that may pollute the

environment. Do not throw away batteries with the

normal household waste, but dispose of them at an

ofcial collection point for batteries. Always remove

the batteries before you discard and hand in the

appliance at an ofcial collection point.

Avant utilisation

Installation des piles

Cet appareil fonctionne avec deux piles de type

R6 AA 1,5 V. Utilisez de préférence des piles alcalines

Philips.

Veillez à avoir les mains sèches avant d’insérer les piles.

1 Ouvrez le couvercle du compartiment à

piles(g.1).

2 Placezdeuxpilesdanslecompartiment(g.2).

Remarque : Veillez à respecter la polarité (repères + et - sur

la pile et dans le compartiment).

Remarque : Le rasoir ne fonctionne pas si les piles n’ont pas

été insérées correctement.

Pour éviter tout dommage dû à une fuite des

piles :

N’exposez pas l’appareil à des températures

supérieures à 35 °C.

Retirez les piles si vous n’utilisez pas l’appareil

pendant plus d’un mois.

Retirez toujours les piles usées de l’appareil.

Temps de rasage

Avec deux piles neuves, l’appareil a une autonomie de

rasage de 60 minutes.

Utilisation de l’appareil

Rasage

Votre peau pourrait avoir besoin de 2 ou 3 semaines

pour s’habituer au système de rasage Philips.

Vous obtiendrez de meilleurs résultats de rasage sur peau

sèche.

1 Appuyez sur le système de verrouillage, puis faites

glisser le bouton marche/arrêt vers le haut pour

mettrelerasoirenmarche(g.3).

Remarque : Le système de verrouillage vous empêche de

mettre l’appareil en marche par inadvertance.

2 Déplacez les têtes de rasage sur la peau en

effectuant des mouvements rectilignes et

circulaires(g.4).

3 Faites glisser le bouton marche/arrêt vers le bas

pour arrêter le rasoir.

4 Replacez le capot de protection sur le rasoir après

utilisation pour éviter d’endommager les têtes de

rasage(g.5).

Nettoyage et entretien

N’utilisez jamais de tampons à récurer, de produits

abrasifs ou de détergents agressifs tels que de l’essence

ou de l’acétone pour nettoyer l’appareil.

Nettoyez régulièrement l’appareil pour obtenir des

résultats de rasage optimaux.

Pour effectuer un nettoyage simple et efcace, vous

pouvez utiliser le spray Philips Shaving Head Cleaner

(type HQ110). Demandez conseil à votre revendeur

Philips.

Remarque : Il est possible que ce produit ne soit pas

disponible dans tous les pays. Pour obtenir de plus amples

Vous pouvez également nettoyer le rasoir de la manière

Nettoyage hebdomadaire de l’unité de

rasage et du compartiment à poils

1 Éteignez le rasoir.

2 Nettoyez d’abord le dessus de l’appareil avec la

brossedenettoyagefournie(g.6).

3 Appuyez sur le bouton de déverrouillage (1) et

retirezl’unitéderasage(2)(g.7).

4 Nettoyez l’intérieur de l’unité de rasage et le

compartiment à poils à l’aide de la brosse de

nettoyage(g.8).

5 Remontezl’unitéderasagesurlerasoir(g.9).

Nettoyage des têtes de rasage tous les deux

mois

1 Éteignez le rasoir.

2 Appuyez sur le bouton de déverrouillage (1) et

retirezl’unitéderasage(2)(g.7).

3 Appuyez de chaque côté du ressort central pour le

resserrer(1),puisretirezlesystèmedexationde

l’unitéderasage(2)(g.10).

4 Retirezlestêtesderasagedusystèmedexation

etnettoyez-lesuneàune(g.11).

N’intervertissez pas les lames et les grilles.

Chaque lame a été affûtée en fonction de sa grille pour

garantir une efcacité maximale. Si vous intervertissez

les paires par erreur, il pourrait falloir plusieurs semaines

avant d’obtenir de nouveau un rasage optimal.

5 Nettoyez les lames avec le côté à poils courts de la

brossedenettoyage(g.12).

Brossez avec précaution dans le sens de la èche.

6 Nettoyezlagrilleàl’aidedelabrosse(g.13).

7 Remettez les têtes de rasage en place sur le

systèmedexationetreplacezcederniersur

l’unité de rasage.

8 Remontez l’unité de rasage sur le rasoir.

Nettoyage en grande profondeur

Pour un nettoyage à fond des têtes de rasage, vous

pouvez utiliser un liquide dégraissant (par exemple de

l’alcool) tous les six mois. Suivez les étapes 1 à 4 décrites

ci-dessus pour démonter les têtes de rasage. N’oubliez

pas de lubrier le point central des grilles avec une goutte

d’huile pour machine à coudre après le nettoyage an

d’éviter toute usure.

Rangement

1 Éteignez le rasoir.

2 Replacez le capot de protection sur le rasoir après

utilisation pour éviter d’endommager les têtes de

rasage(g.5).

Remplacement

Pour obtenir des résultats impeccables, remplacez les

têtes de rasage tous les 2 ans.

Remplacez les têtes de rasage endommagées ou

usées uniquement par des têtes de rasage Philips

Double Action HQ3.

1 Éteignez le rasoir.

2 Appuyez sur le bouton de déverrouillage (1) et

retirezl’unitéderasage(2)(g.7).

3 Appuyez de chaque côté du ressort central pour le

resserrer(1),puisretirezlesystèmedexationde

l’unitéderasage(2)(g.10).

4 Retirezlestêtesderasagedusystèmedexation

Environnement
